Who: Ginny and Jensigne. What: Catching up. Where: An inconspicuous cafe. When: 5/6/16, afternoon. Rating: PG-13
It felt like years since she had last seen Jensigne Rosenborg. And, to be fair, that was the truth and not merely the melodramatic exaggeration of a young woman. It had been almost six years since she had seen her fellow princess in the flesh. After her family had helped Jensigne's family cross to safer borders in the horrible aftermath of the revolution, Ginny had made it a point to stay in touch with Jensigne over the years.
Ginny had felt horrible for the girl's turn of fates upon learning about it from her siblings and wanted to be of help in anyway. Even if it was merely in the form of supportive letters and encouraging words since, technically, China was already pushing it with aiding the royal family.
Apparently it was enough however. They had kept in somewhat consistent touch with each other well after Jensigne moved to the U.S. and Ginny personally liked to think they were fine if not close in terms of friendship. Ginny admired Jensigne after all she had been through, still able to claim a life of her own despite what had occurred in the past. She would love to just spend a few hours speaking to her, learning more about her and her life after everything. But they never got to see each other face-to-face since then - Even after Ginny had come to the U.S. herself in the wake of her own personal scandal and a desperate need to improve her image with the rest of the world.
There just wasn't enough time for them to meet up and catch up thanks to their schedules, their busy lives getting in the way of a little reunion between the two women. Until recently that is.
Yes. It looked like the world was going to be merciful for once and had allowed the women to have free time at the same time. The two were finally going to meet one another after for so long and Ginny was excited about it. Though she wasn't exactly dressed in a way that didn't exactly keep people's attention off her should they look over at the table she had claimed hours ago, she had made sure to wear sunglasses and keep her head down while waiting for her friend to enter the coffee shop. Ginny's stomach felt like butterflies were trapped inside it with how it kept fluttering and twisting in an airy manner, nervous but anxious to see her friend at long last.
She kept a careful eye on the front entrance though she shouldn't have to. The little bell above it would ring a charming jingle for all to hear, alerting people to the person's presence. Still. Never hurt to be aware of her surroundings. With the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff who respected their customers' privacy, Ginny hoped she had made the right choice when choosing it to be the meeting place for her and Jensigne. She wanted it to be just right for everyone involved.
