Due to some medical concerns, I have had to pull back my hours at Sally's. I thought I would be back shortly after taking time off, but my condition has not improved. Thankfully, I have been working with my wonderful business partner and staff to ensure that the bakery will continue to function the way it always has.

I am under the care and guiance of a wonderful doctor. This being said, are there any magical healers in our network who might be able to offer some alternative treatments? I fear there is not a lot that the standard, Western Medicine of this world can do for what I have.

What sort of magical healing are you looking for?

There's something wrong with my heart. It's broken.

Broken in a sense that someone hurt you, or broken like you have heart disease?

Where I come from, apparently they are one and the same.

I lost someone, and was heartbroken because of it. My heart was doing me no good, so I traded it for vengeance. They cut it out of my chest and carried it away. The portal gave it back to me. It was practically cleft in two, charred black. An angel was here, and he healed it for me before putting it back in my chest. But I don't think the healing lasted.

I'm sorry. I know all too well what it's like to lose someone that you love and let revenge take over.

I have experience dealing with hearts where I'm from. Magically, that is. I've split a heart in two before to save my friends. If you'd like, I can take a look at your heart and see if I can repair it.

I'm Regina, by the way.

I hope that I have grown since then. It's been many years. I spent most of them without a heart in my chest, though.

I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Hello, Regina. My name is Catherine Pinkerton, but you can call me Cath.

You're not the first person I've met who's spent years without a heart in their chest.

Of course. And it is good to meet you, Cath. What is a good time for me to look into this for you?

No?? Most people here seem to think it strange.

I only work for a few hours each day. I have been instructed to take it easy by the doctors here.

Any time is a good time.

My mother spent years without her heart in chest. She believed that love was a weakness, so it was easier for her to do her work without worrying about it getting in the way.

I've gone without it at certain points in my life, as well.

Of course. I can swing by in the evening and take a look.

I understand the sentiment. Pain was my weakness. Heartbreak. Now I understand that the benefits far outweigh the deficits. Even if I'm not benefitting a lot from it right now.

I can message you my home address. That would be easier than organizing a meeting at the bakery.

Having a heart can sometimes feel like it's more of a burden then it's worth. But there is something good that comes from having a heart.

Of course. And better for our uses. too.

Indeed. Right now I'm suffering a bit because of it. But I can feel again.

Thank you. I will be home all evening.

After not having your heart in your chest for a certain amount of time, I can see where it would be difficult.

Of course. Does around 6 PM work for you?

6pm sounds lovely. I will put on the kettle for some tea.
