DETAILS
A seemingly "natural" disaster has struck the far side of the world by way of a landslide, threatening a city of over 100,000 souls. So why is the energy pouring out of the area so damn familiar?
What came before:
Clark Kent detected a disturbance and alerted the Network. Clint mobilized his team and as many volunteers as he could to begin transporting people to the area in order to assist with evacuation and rescue. And also to find the source.
The U.N.'s stance:
Due to the contested area, the U.N. refuses to sanction an Avengers mission. Now, what those heroes do in their free time… Well, it's essentially humanitarian aid, and people are there in a strictly voluntary capacity. For sure.
What's happening when we get there?
Cold, snow, and darkness! Welcome to the permafrost of the Arctic Circle in December. Local authorities are attempting to move the population out of harm's way, but efforts are impeded by the rapidly shifting ground as the edge of the city spirals away into a strange pulsing light.
What can I do?
Search and rescue! Investigate the portal energy readings! Set up triage and coordinate the evacuation! (See below for suggested plot prompts.)
VOLUNTEER SLOTS
ONE: John Walker is really winning at this Big Damn Hero thing—right up until they're not. One wrong step, and now it looks like they could use a hero of their own. But will Sam Wilson get there in time?
TWO: Team Science is on the case! But what will Henry Foss and Hank Pym do when they discover they might not be the only team there? (Will involve Mod NPCs.)
THREE: Kate Bishop is the unfortunate victim of some localized portal energy weirdness. Cisco Ramon is going to have to act fast in order to be able to get them out of it, or they're getting sucked into the madness as well. (Please feel free to come up with something cool! Barring that, use a 12-sided die and refer to the recent plot doc to determine what happened!)
FOUR: While in the middle of clearing out a building, Daisy Johnson and Dick Grayson stumble across a group of shadowy figures. But are they friend or foe? (Will involve Mod NPCs.)
FIVE: Ava Starr has discovered the research mother lode, but the area is extremely unstable. That leaves Karli Morgenthau in the unfortunate position to either talk some sense into them, or drag them out by any means necessary.
SIX: It's Siberia in December, which means one wrong turn and Tandy Bowen is now well and truly lost in a winter not-so-wonderland. It's so cold, the comms go sketchy, but Tim Drake hears a weak call. Now it's a race against time until exposure and frostbite kick in.
The Aftermath
The people are rescued! The portal is shut down! But where did this portal come from, and who was running it?
