Jen offered Kyle the briefest of smiles and just lifted her shoulders into a shrug.
"I know Guy through my dad," she explained. It was how she knew half the people that she did, well that and the fact that she was green. That seemed to be a good indicator that she was meta which in turn drew a lot of attention, good and bad. Guy and Alan just traveled in similar circles it was only inevitable that they met sooner or later. In fact, Guy probably knew Alan longer than Alan knew his own children. It was only up until recently (six years) that the Scott/Rice/Hayden family was reunited, Jade and Todd having otherwise thought to be orphans. It was something that the three of them kept under wraps, but two mysterious children wasn't something someone could just sweep under the rug. Kyle may or may not have heard rumors or stories outright from the man himself, having met Alan just around the time that she had met Alan.
She motioned Kyle into the apartment, shutting the door behind him. She traversed back through the hall into the kitchen where Guy was waiting with the wine, Kyle in tow. She moved right past guy, swiping the bottle out of his hand and moving right over to the cupboard to retrieve a glass. She poured herself a hefty glass. Yeah, yeah, she knew better. You couldn't not live in California and have not visited a vineyard. Yeah, yeah, volatilize the esters. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Bouquet, whatever. Was it going to get her drunk? Yurp. You could always count on Guy for the cheap hooch.
She looked between Kyle and Guy and back at Kyle again and after a moment's deliberation clued Guy in. "Funny story that..." She started, catching Kyle's eye with a severely arched eyebrow. She wasn't going to share with Guy the knitty gritty of what exactly happened, the fact the had fondled her -- nude -- in the shower in a folly of mistaken identity, but she wasn't about to not let Kyle sweat it out for a few minutes.
"Kyle helped me out when I was in a really tricky situation," she said finally. "Wine anyone? Or, I bought you beer."
