Who: Atlee and Booster Gold
Where: Metropolis
When: May 16, 2010
Summary: Atlee resurfaces from visiting her family.
It had been a while since Atlee had visited Strata. Although the surface world was fascinating-- there was always something going on!-- Atlee had discovered that the world didn't actually need saving every single minute. Just most of the time. And maybe twice on Sundays. (She still wasn't sure why that day was more hazardous.)
Slowly, Atlee was growing to accept the fact that she didn't need to be everywhere at once. And even if something was going on, that was where teamwork came in. The surface world had a lot more heroes to watch over everyone.
So without any crisis in sight, Atlee had taken a little trip down under. It was nice to visit home without any sense of life or death urgency. She had missed her Mother and Father, not to mention the home prepared meals. Although the surface world was fascinating, Atlee had to admit there were times when she found it hectic and confusing. In contrast, Strata felt comfortable and relaxed. It was uncomplicated and earnest. Both of which people seemed to try their hardest to avoid.
Still, all things had to come to an end. With promises to visits and long hugs, Atlee had started for the surface once more. She had stopped to detour a bit of lava flow, then continued towards the surface. Feeling the tremors moving through the earth, Atlee altered her course to the source of the disturbance.
What could possibly be going on now?
As she grew closer to the tremors, Atlee realized her mistake. Oh. They were doing that again. Oh well. At least she was almost at the surface. Finally breaking through the masses of dirt and soil, Atlee smiled brightly at the construction crew. She took a moment to survey their work.
"Wow. You guys are doing a great job. I'm sure traffic will be a lot better when you're done."
