Thread: Bruce Wayne's 36th Birthday Party
Who: Party Hosts and Guests, including Bruce Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth, Duela Dent, Dick Grayson, Zatanna Zatara, Kate Kane, Barbara Gordon, Tommy Elliot, Damian Wayne, Clark Kent, Dinah Lance, Karen Starr, Hiro Okamura, Atlee, Talia al Ghul, Ted Kord, Scandal Savage, Deadshot, and Harley Quinn.
Where: Wayne Manor, Gotham
When: Saturday 17 April 2010
Summary: Party! It's Bruce Wayne's 36th birthday party and everyone who's anyone is there.
Note: Need details? The plotting post is here. Start subthreads!

Alfred had been given permission to "outdo himself" and outdo himself he did. Wayne Manor was polished to a shine and decorated to the nines. The catering had been meticulously planned, with Alfred making several of the recipes himself. The ballroom had a stage that would have a live band with dancing for most of the evening and Zatanna's magic show at other times.

The only cause for complaint was due to the guest list. With all the plus ones, it was all a bit chaotic. While everyone either needed an invitation or to be with someone with an invitation to get in, it seemed that wasn't much of a barrier to entry.

"Philadelphia is still standing. Spring is a good time. Even if I don't see the outside world often enough with all my work at the hospital. I've been hearing some interesting stuff about Wayne Tech," Tommy noted, falling easily into conversation.

"I was actually looking for a picture of the Doc..." Even as a child, the Elliot boy had been a little audacious with his names for people, especially for the revered Dr. Thomas Wayne. "But I came across this, and it was too lovely to keep to myself." He leaned over Bruce's arm as if to examine it. "That's the way I prefer to remember my mother."

Well, that was a lie. He preferred to remember his mother expiring in the vice like grip of his hands. Crazy old bat. He lifted his head, offering Bruce a grin. "So you're doing okay? It's been too long..."

Was he doing ok? He had a half grown assassin for a new son, and his full grown assassin of a mother in the wings doing who knew what, there was that whole Brainiac thing that he wasn't convinced was completely settled—when was it ever with Brainiac—and now the Riddler was acting up again too. Bruce wondered if Superman had these kinds of problems.

But none of those were things you talked about at parties.

"Me? I'm fine, I'm fine," he said, tucking the photo under his arm and handing the wrapping paper to a passing servant to toss into the recycling bin. "Golfing weather in Gotham finally, so I won't have to go to Australia so often. And beach weather, I suppose, but the beaches around here aren't very good anyway." Bruce shrugged, "Same old, same old."

"But what's this you were saying about WayneTech? What have you heard? You're probably more up on it than I am, Lucius always handles that for me."

"Something within the medical equipment division. Innovative. Next great idea. Really, it was the Wayne part that caught my attention," Tommy shrugged, grabbing a drink from a passing tray.

"We'll have to go golfing sometime. I am a doctor, after all," he smirked, patting Bruce on the shoulder as he took a sip from his drink. "Well, don't let me keep you from the ladies--lots of hearts here just waiting to be broken by the ol' ladykiller."

"Yes, absolutely," Bruce promised. Going golfing with Tommy would be nice. If only he could get the criminals of Gotham to let him have enough time to do it.

"Oh come now, surely I'm not that bad." And then, more because it seemed to be the thing to do than because he actually wanted to, he let a passing blond catch his eye. "Alright, maybe I am," he grinned wolfishly. "Good seeing you, Tommy."

And with that, he grabbed a champagne flute off a tray and walked up to the woman. "Pardon me, I noticed your glass seemed to be empty, Ms...?"
