Summary: Party! It's Bruce Wayne's 36th birthday party and everyone who's anyone is there.

Alfred had been given permission to "outdo himself" and outdo himself he did. Wayne Manor was polished to a shine and decorated to the nines. The catering had been meticulously planned, with Alfred making several of the recipes himself. The ballroom had a stage that would have a live band with dancing for most of the evening and Zatanna's magic show at other times.

The only cause for complaint was due to the guest list. With all the plus ones, it was all a bit chaotic. While everyone either needed an invitation or to be with someone with an invitation to get in, it seemed that wasn't much of a barrier to entry.

"Do you like it?" Atlee asked? She let go of Hiro so she could step back and show off her dress. "It's brand new." Just like most of the clothes she owned. She turned in a small circle giving Hiro probably a better view than he needed. Thankfully, the finger snacks stayed on her plate.

After she finished, barely waiting for a response, Atlee continued. "I'm here with... a friend," she continued, adopting a slight Scottish accent at the end of her sentence.

And so Hiro was trying to figure out whether or not he should pinch himself as he was pretty sure Atlee being totally hot and showing off exactly how totally hot she was generally existed in daydream territory. He canted his head slightly to the side, looking rather appreciatively. She did ask. It was his responsibility as a good teammate to objectively analyse her attributes and give her an honest opinion as to whether he liked the dress on her.

"Woah, yeah, this is totally a great look on you-" whatever sentiment he was about to express was cut off, rather like a brief mental trainwreck. On the bright side, it simultaneously derailed a line of thought that had only started to form about how maybe the friend she was with was Spoiler and that would be a huge bonus. "Wait. Did you just get all British at me?"

Not that he had a problem with that.

Atlee came up short. She looked about for a moment, then back at Hiro. "Was it British?" she asked, sans accent this time. "I was trying for Irish but then we decided Scottish would be better?" Atlee paused, then the mangled Scottish brogue was back again. "So I could say I was from the old country."

She gave Hiro a hopeful smile. She was trying her best and it was passable, right? Secret identities were an awful lot of work. She'd have to ask Hiro how he managed his sometime.

Atlee + Hiro + Damian + Open?

It'd been a strange enough night already, what with his mother being there and enough forced interaction to make Damian's skin crawl. He needed a break from it yet again, otherwise he felt that his face would freeze into a perpetually polite non-smile. While Damian managed to cross the room without being accosted, he did not like what he found on the other side. In fact, he was suddenly wishing that he'd stayed where he was, even if it meant being damned with an frozen face.

He stopped in his tracks, not sure if he wanted to backpedal and pretend he hadn't seen them or rush forward and break them up before they managed to break something. Like his sanity. Still, while it was an option, Damian was not the type to back out. The only way forward was forward, even if his teammates were in the way.

With purposeful strides, his polished formal shoes mercifully silent, Damian was upon just in time to catch the last bit said. The accent was painfully bad. Damian interrupted their conversation with a hissed statement, "What are you two doing here." His accusing eyes flashed between the two out of costumed heroes.

Atlee smiled at Damian, unfazed by his brusque demeanor. (In her opinion, Rook was just being Rook. He was always scowling.) "I didn't know you'd be here!" she set her plate down on the buffet table and moved to give Damian a hug.

"You look good!" Atlee commented, then glanced back at Hiro. "You both do." She took a quick glance around the crowd wondering if Spoiler was somewhere in the crowd as well.
