All Harry wanted for Valentine's Day was to be anonymous. He rarely went ANYwhere, other than the Ministry and his home. It was just... too risky. If he thought it was bad before, when he'd just accidentally defeated Lord Voldemort and Dedalus Diggle was bowing to him in Muggle shops, it was unbearable NOW - now that he'd ACTUALLY killed the Dark Lord and the wizarding world could relax. If he went to mostly wizarding areas he was completely bombarded with people asking for pictures and autographs and to take him for drinks; if he went to mostly Muggle areas, there was still the possibility he'd be assaulted by a wizard and having Muggles stare at him as if he were some sort of freak.
And today, because of the holiday, it was bound to be worse - especially when they saw he had no date.
Ron and Hermione were celebrating, of course, and they should be. He hadn't heard from Ginny since Malfoy had been released. Remus was... off with Snape (don't think about it, don't think about it... Merlin, that's disgusting), and really, there was NO one he COULD spend Valentine's with. Except... maybe... Justin? Michael and Anthony? Aberforth? But too many of those options would force him into the wizarding world, and that was a place he just didn't want to risk. Oh. Of course. Tonks.
He left the Ministry after his class and headed in the direction of Tonks' flat, stopping along the way to pick up a bouquet of flowers (yellow daisies and orange tulips) and a bottle of brandy. It wasn't like he was going to ask Tonks on a date, or anything, he was going to spend Valentine's Day with her... as a friend. So why was he standing at her doorway, shifting from foot to foor, debating turning around, walking away, and acting as if it had never happened?
Because... she might be on a date... or... have her date there, and here was some stupid kid she barely knew nocking on her door and asking to spend time with her.
Whatever. He'd faced the Dark Lord, he could face the embarrassment of barging in on Tonks' date.
He knocked on the door, finally, and stared at the peephole, waiting on her to answer.
