Important [puts on mod hat]
Dee has drawn my attention to a problem on LJ that could spread over here.

Basically it's some kind of hacking - virus - thing that fucks up journals and communities.

Does it show that I don't know the language?

Anyhow - it'll purge a journal then make the following post in any community to which the journal had administrative rights:

Picture of the post here

The post itself is scary enough but clicking on the links spreads the - whatever - to make everything still worse.

This sounds to me like what killed the journal and several comms belonging to a friend on LJ. He says it was due to having originally started his journal with a now obsolete email account which had been taken over by the hacker - or whatever. Not sure if it IS the same but just to let you know that we have no plans to close the comm so if you see such a post it's BOGUS and please ignore it.

thanks all

Yes, you're probably right! There is a post in the Milliways Backroom, and that links to a post that links to Sam and his problem. He seems to have been a sort of practice run, poor bloke!

Wow, that's kinda scary! Thanks for the headsup, I hadn't heard of this before so now I know to be careful.
