She could feel it, too; there was something different between them now. It was exactly good nor was it exactly bad, just something that simply was and always would be, from that moment on. But it made her sad. Selfishly, she wondered if knowing how she felt and that her feelings didn't change anything would make him stop wanting her that way. It was fleeting; she pushed the thought away as quickly as it entered her mind and she sniffled softly, exhaling and closing her eyes. She could almost taste his breath and she swallowed hard as her hands came up to hold his cheeks.
