He felt like the earth was tilting a little bit and he wasn't doing very good keeping it steady. That pretty much told him what he needed to know about how he felt about things. He was so very invested in her. More invested than he'd even kind of known, which was weird, because Chase was usually pretty good at knowing himself.
He didn't protest when she took his hand, and he tried not to look too upset, or shocked, or anything as she explained things. But his heart went through a whole gamut of emotions.
And of course he had a very intelligent answer for her. "Huh?" he asked, then he winced, squeezing his eyes shut before he opened them again. He needed to be way better than that. "I'm sorry!" he apologized immediately. "Sorry, I'm - catching up with current events. I'm slow."
He was flailing is what he was doing. "I um. And with. And. And. And. I'm stuck on one word and can't spit out the rest of the sentence I swear I have something," he said, not sure if he should sit down or not, but in the end he did because that's what she wanted him to do. "...you want me?" he asked, in a voice that was probably way more pathetic than he wanted it to be. But he just wasn't suave right now.
