She lowered her eyes and nodded when he spoke of how powerful she was, awestruck. He had no earthly idea. Vanessa licked her lips slowly, wringing her hands before make a soft hum of nervousness.
It's scary when you realize how thoughtless words can be. And how those words can impact people's lives. Their livelihood, even...
Vanessa stopped short of telling him about how she'd accidentally caused someone to commit suicide - only the powers that be around the agency knew that and she wasn't keen to turn anyone against her any time soon. She was speechless - thoughtless? - a moment longer, looking pensive before continuing.
It's scary to think about this power being in anyone else's hands, someone less... altruistic, let's say. But I guess the best way I know how to describe it, based on what I've been told, is that even if your mind is telling you that whatever I've compelled you to do is a bad idea, every other element in your body, your heart, your stomach, every fiber of your being is kind of aching to do as you're told. There's a strong desire there to make me happy, I guess, is a way to describe it.

I think you'd go stand in the corner, and wait until you had to go. As long as it took, I would imagine. Or - mmm. Maybe you'd grab water and drink until you were ready? Something like that. People are usually only upset hours later when the affect of my voice wears off.
