Day 32
Who: Andy Gallagher and George Lass
What: Andy and George meet up to have a cup of coffee
When: Day 32, morning
Where: cafe
Rating: PG-13 (language)
Status: Complete

Closing the journal, Andy dropped it on the mattress and pulled on his shirt. Already showered and mostly dressed, he'd gone straight for the journal like a morning ritual. He supposed, in a way, it kind of was now. It had been half open and pages bent on the floor where it had presumably landed after he'd thrown it before heading down to have a drink with Sam and Illyana. Ugh, he should do something nice for her, speaking of which, since she'd mentioned getting a hangover from that little meeting...

After the hangover fix, a la Mirage, Andy felt much better. Not quite like the proverbial million bucks, or anything, but better. He supposed in a couple of days when he'd moved past the self-pity as well as the humiliation and anger toward the situation with Rose, he'd be good as new. For now, he was meeting George in the cafe for some coffee.

Bounding down the stairs with his usual energy, Andy headed out of the resident building and into the cafe. George wasn't there, yet, but she'd said she needed to get dressed, so he figured she'd be a minute. He took a seat at one of the booths and leaned back, lacing his hands behind his head. He'd wait until she got there to order his coffee. No need to get started without her; Andy didn't think George would be long.

Although... Andy smirked as a giant, overflowing plate appeared on the table. Cinnamon rolls were definitely in order.

George laughed. She hoped he hadn't taken her seriously, because if she was honest, George found it kind of cute that they were building a treehouse.

"Touche. We're all pre-teens again." She said, rolling her eyes. "As a matter of fact I am. You, Sam and Illyana have this fucking clique I'm not a part of and as much as I don't care, it pisses part of me off." George smirked. "I'm never with the cool kids, man..." She pretended to be bummed out.

Andy raised his eyebrows. He far from considered he, Sam, and Illyana to be 'the cool kids,' given the fact that they all had weird abilities given to them by demons. "We're not the cool kids, but you're totally welcome to hang with us next time we get together. Sam's kind of a shut in, I think. He doesn't hang out much and sometimes getting him to come out is like pullin' fucking teeth, but once Yana and I get the treehouse built, I can totally bring you with when we have our next Freaks United meeting," he joked. "You're not a matching freak, but I think being dead might qualify you for initiation, if you want to be in the club," he laughed.

Admittedly, he liked the idea of George wanting to hang out with him more. She was a cool chick.

George was a little bit excited at the prospect of a) hanging out with Andy's friends and b) Finally meeting the mythical Sam Winchester. Not that she was desperate for guys, but Andy had spoken about him quite a lot, and she was curious.

"Oh, you have a little club that meets in a treehouse!" George was amused but also a little bit endeared. It was like a support group for people with weird pasts, apparently. "I'm not a matching freak? Dead, soul-snatching touch, having two faces and bodies, seeing the little beings that make death happen...Not a freak? You sure?"

"No, no...not usually. I just figure if we can talk Sam into it, meeting in the treehouse would be maybe less danger to Illyana than meeting up for drinks again," he joked. "Seriously though, they're not really meetings, that's just what I call it when we all get together." He paused. "Oh, you're totally a freak, George, just a different kind of freak," he said with a serious face he was only able to keep in tact for a moment before grinning at her. "It's just we're all freaks for a similar reason, especially Sam and I. We're literally from the same freak family, you could say," he added a little less amused.

George smiled at Andy and his freak baseball card qualifications. "I see. You're freak brothers, Illyana is a cousin, and I'm the noisy neighbor." She concluded, grinning at her own analogy.

"Illyana's more like the half-sister and you can be the cousin," Andy amended, laughing, amused by her interesting analogy. "But, hey, if you're willing to admit to them what makes you a freak, I'm sure they'll take you in with open arms like I am," he said a little more seriously, smiling.

George smiled thankfully at Andy for the nice change in her analogy. She would be willing to admit to them what she was all about if it meant gaining a sort of family, however full of freaks it might be. George couldn't deny how much she missed everyone at "home" anymore, she had even started to miss Daisy a couple of days ago.

"I don't think there's a point in omitting it to them, is there?" She wondered.

Shrugging, Andy shook his head. "Not really. They're cool. You might wanna break it to Sam easy, though, cuz he's all into saving the world from demons and ghosts and shit like that," he replied. "Might take him a minute to process that you're dead but not really, but I dunno. He might just take it in stride. He took Illyana in stride, anyway," he added.

As he took another bite of his cinnamon roll, he looked back at George. It'd be kind of nice to have another close friend around and he thought the other two would get along with her well. George had the type of personality Andy thought a person either had to love or hate. He loved it; Sam and Illyana seemed to have similar taste if the way they'd reacted to each other was anything to go by.

George pouted slightly. "It's not like I'm a ghost...." She muttered under her breath. "As long as he doesn't try to kill me. Because he wouldn't be able to, but that would piss me off anyway."

She noticed how Andy's cinnamon rolls kept on coming. He'd been eating them for the longest time now. Smiling, she then noticed how her own coffee mug had been filled up recently too. "This is a friggin' all-you-can-eat buffet..."

George hoped the other two would accept her. Not that she'd ever craved acceptance from anybody, but it seemed like having that little group had done wonders to Andy's mood, and if she was here, she might as well try to bond with someone. Hopefully, a group of someones. Maybe they could meet here and have breakfast. God, she missed home too damn much.

"Georgie," Andy said in a low voice. "I get that. I know. And it won't take a whole lot of convincing on Sam's part, either, but I'm just giving a heads up. Just in case."

He didn't want her to think that his friends would shut her down, but at the same time, he didn't want her to go in unprepared, because he knew how Sam worked and there was really no way to be sure how he'd take that she wasn't alive, much less how he'd take that she was a grim reaper.

"It's not like I'll let anything happen to ya, anyway," he pointed out with a smile.

When she commented on the refilling cinnamon buns, Andy laughed and set down the last bun he'd been munching on. "Gah. Like I said...this place has a thing for getting us to overindulge, I think," he replied, sitting back and taking another sip of his coffee.

Then something occurred to him. "Oh! Hey, you know what? You've met Illyana already," he reminded her. "With Illyana and I both vouching that you're cool, Sam's not gonna be a problem. Hell, he was cool with Yana just from me vouching for her, so you'll be golden." He grinned with triumphant satisfaction.

George smiled at Andy. He was being awesome, each day he felt more like a good replacement for Mason, though she didn't like the word "replacement" for someone so great who had done her such a great amount of good.

"Thank you." She told him, and meant it. "Maybe this is a social experiment. They give us everything we could ever want, and then test us. Or something..." She shrugged.

"Yeah, I have met her." George smirked. "I do remember us getting our ass kicked by 80s girl the first round!" She was a little more relieved now that Andy seemed to be sure Sam wouldn't mind her or try to kill her in vain.

Andy frowned a little at that thought. "God, I hope not, 'cause if that's the case, I'm definitely failing," he laughed.

"Embarrassing, right?" he joked. "She did pretty good for a newbie to that sort of technology," he said appreciatively.

He finished his coffee and sat back. "I'll talk to Yana when we're workin' on the tree house and see when Sam's free. He's kinda trying to reconnect with his brother, I think. Dean came from way before Sam did and I guess they weren't very close where Dean came from. They were pretty tight, where Sam came from, or whatever," he explained.

"And so am I!" George said, smirking. "I know, she really did."

George licked her lips, finishing everything on the table, and crossed her arms. Hopefully, the planet wouldn't bring more.

"Wow, that is so not fair." She felt sorry for Sam and the mess he was going through. "So his brother has no idea whatever else they've been through until Sam's time? That's shit, man." She shook her head disapprovingly. Now that her opinion of this crazy planet was changing, it goes and does something as stupid as fucking up a family.

"Yeah, that's pretty much the jist, I think," Andy replied, frowning slightly. "I can't say I understand what he's going through, because I don't, but it's gotta suck coming from a place where you were really close with somebody and then finding them here and they barely know you," he said. "Dean and I saved each other's asses where I came from...he's not met me yet, where he comes from. So, I haven't seen him, really; don't talk to him or anything. I don't wanna freak the guy out, ya know? He's got enough on his plate trying to figure out his relationship with Sam, anyway."

"Yeah I have no idea what that's like, either. What a shitty thing to do, though." George looked up with an expression of disapproval, as if the personification of the whole planet was on the ceiling. "What about you, have you asked that girl if she's really got those attributes or if you were having a drunken hallucination about icy hands and whatnot?"

Andy shrugged. "Not yet. I haven't seen her, yet," he replied. "I will though, just as soon as I can figure out how not to be an offensive dickhead while doing it," he laughed.

"Fair enough." George said, smiling. "We don't want her to slap the fuck out of you."

George was relaxed, now, but she kept thinking about going (or not going) to Lucas' room. She'd decide later. Right now, she would enjoy Andy's company like she had been doing, because good friends like he was becoming were hard to find.

"Yeah, that'd be bad," he replied, laughing.

Looking down at his watch, Andy frowned slightly. "Shit, I got a late start this morning..." he sighed, looking back up at George. "I really hate to cut this short, Georgie, but I said I'd meet up with Yana to get to work on that tree house. We were supposed to do it yesterday but so much stupid shit went down, I bailed on it." He gave her an apologetic smile. "Definitely, I'll keep you posted and...we gotta do this again sometime soon, huh?" he asked with a more genuine, relaxed smile.

Andy stood and nodded. He pointed at her. "Go ask that guy to teach you to play," he advised with a smirk. "I'll catch you 'round soon, George. Promise," he said. And he meant that.

George sniggered. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever." She nodded, but didn't stand up. She would stay and have some more coffee, think some more before leaving the cafe. "You better fucking keep that promise!" She told Andy, faking a little bit of anger.

"I'm good for it," he insisted with a wink as he started toward the door. "Thanks for comin' down. I will see you soon," he added as he crossed the room walking backwards. "Later, George!" he called, smiling, as he waved and then turned, heading out of the cafe.
