Layla had been doing laps for her college swim meet. She had gotten a partial college scholarship for her swimming, even though she had gone to Sky High, she was a sidekick and as a sidekick they helped in the 'Save the Citizen' depending on the day, usually Heroes performed for the entire school, but sidekicks needed to help as well. Layla was a Hero, to be sure, her powers that she had shown during the Homecoming Massacre during her freshman school year had proved she was, but she never wanted that title and was quite happy with being a sidekick. That meant she had time to attend to her passions, plants, drawing, the guitar and the swimming pool. Layla was a natural in the water, so it was no big deal, no-scratch that, it was a big deal to her, that she got this scholarship. She decided on going to a sleepy college in North Carolina with a kick ass botany program and also an amazing food program. The combination would pander to her want to become a PH. D that created a cheap organic food program for the poor. That meant she had to keep fit and keep her scholarship, so she was off doing laps in the pool, when she looked up she realized that she was no longer in the school swimming pool, but somewhere else, the rising panic hit hard. Layla looked around, finding a towel and a robe that she pulled on, she called out, "Hello? Is anyone out there?" She felt shaky and freaked, but she had her powers behind her, her training in martial arts and 'Save the Citizen', first aide and CPR, motorcycle sidecar basics and also a motorcycle license, plus a multitude of other things and if she wanted in the blink of the eye she could change into her Armour with full on utility belt and supplies, but she wanted to wait until that was absolutely necessary.

"Hello? OK, tis is not funny? Where am I?" She called out.

As Max listened to Layla's worried explaination, she slowed down a bit and kept pace with Layla so they were side-by-side. "Don't worry about me. I'll beat anyone's ass that comes near us. I'm more worried about you, but no big dealio. I got your back." Max wasn't about to admit that she was genetically engineered killing machine, but she wouldn't hesitate to kick some ass if she needed to protect herself and this girl she had just met.

"Thank you, I appreciate it." Not mentioning that she could protect herself using the plants around them.

"Well, I won't let anyone get the drop on you if I can manage it, they don't call me a sidekick for nothing." Layla smiled at Max.

"Wow, more of those stone things." Layla saw them near the front desk and backed up a little.
