Darkness was falling on the deceptively quiet town of Sunnydale, but the brunette had no intention of slowing down anytime soon. She was here to teach her fellow Slayer, Buffy, an important lesson about what it really was to be what essentially was a professional killer. In Faith's opinion, if you were going to have a job like that? You needed a definate sense of humor, and the blonde was very much lacking that particular trait, at times. It really was time for Buffy to 'find the fun'.

Faith had been delighted when the pretty Slayer had accepted her challenge. They always did things Buffy's way, which while it worked, was boring as hell. It was time for them to do things Faith's way, the fun way. And, as could have been predicted, it was quite the day. She was growing to like her fellow Slayer much more than she would have thought possible. She was growing less uptight by the minute, and it was wonderful to see.

The first real test of this was when Faith broke into a weapons shop and started taking their stock. After all, it was nearing dark, and all sorts of things come out to play in the night in Sunnydale. They needed to be armed. The fact that it was fun to break into the store was completely extra, although a nice little perk. Buffy, surprisingly, went along with it, and soon both girls were armed to the teeth.

Then, it was back to the streets. Faith was looking for trouble, there could be no doubt about that. Of course, that was sort of her natural state, so it wasn't really unusual. Hell, trouble was going to find her, anyways! She might as well beat it to the punch. They wandered for a long time, Faith leading, Buffy slightly behind her. A nearly-dark ally ahead beckoned, and the brunette laughed and turned down it.

"There's gotta be something down here!"

A flash of movement, and someone lunging towards her, had her raise her stake high. She didn't have time to see much, and was quickly lost in the red waves of her battle lust. As Buffy screamed at her to stop, Faith didn't even think twice. Her arm descended, and the wooden stake plunged right into the heart of her opponant. He fell against the nearby dumpster, looking at her in the fading light of the day. The last rays of sunshine touched his face.

She only had a moment in which to think, and her mind was whirling. Two facts stood out in her mind. One, was that it was much too early for vampires to be out and about. The second, of course, was that the person she had stabbed stubbornly showed no signs of turning into a puff of dust. He wasn't a....

Before her over-excited mind could finish that thought, as she was still staring blankly at the corpse, everything changed. Suddenly, right under her feet, a strange black hole literally opened up beneath her feet. Even in her shocked state, she could appreciate the humor in that. How many times had people wished for just that to happen? Then, right before the horrified eyes of her fellow Slayer, she was sucked in.

A brief moment in which she felt like she had been turned inside out, and then the whole process reversed, and then she fell to the ground from about ten feet in the air. Her enhanced reflexes kicked in, and she landed on her feet. Her hand still clutched the stake, which was covered in blood. Vampires didn't bleed, not when you stabbed them like that. They turned to dust.

She shook her head, knowing that she couldn't deal with this right now. Something had happened, something much more important to her immediately than the fact that she was, now, officially, a murderer. There was literally blood on her hands. But, more importantly than that, her senses were telling her that someone was nearby, someone she should be cautious of. So, she waited. Whoever it was, they would have to reveal themselves sooner or later. And Faith, well, she suddenly had some aggression to take out. If the person wanted to fight, she was ready. Sure, she was slightly in shock, but she wouldn't let that get in the way. Dark, slightly crazed eyes scanned the place, noticing buildings nearby, and not so far off, there were some low, rolling mountains.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are..."

She was now, in more ways than one, truly the Slayer.

This was exactly what she needed, actually. Something to pull her mind away from what she had done, who she knew that she was now. She didn't want to think about it, and she wouldn't. She would have dropped the stake that was dripping blood onto her hands, but she wouldn't deprive herself of her weapon. Sure, she had others, she'd been armed to the teeth, but this one was the only one she had in hand.

She was in danger, of course. But, then, when wasn't she? She was able to track him as he swooped around, and though he was a little faster than her, she was only a tiny bit behind. His laughter didn't shake her, not really. It was a sound that would terrify any sane person, but then, Faith wasn't exactly sane. Also, she was quickly finding that the battlelust was once again welling up inside her. She welcomed it, it always made her instincts sharper.

"Reveal yourself, coward...."

She pinpointed him and a smirk came to her face. She looked right up for a very long time, getting his exact location straight. Then, in a flash, she put her stake in her mouth, held it between her teeth, and climbed a tree so fast she appeared to levitate up it. Then, she was airborne, launching herself through the night until she landed on his back. Immediately, her arms and legs wrapped around him. She sensed she'd gotten him by surprise, and she wasn't about to let go anytime soon. She whispered into his ear, her voice somewhat obscured by the wooden stake in her mouth.

"Or, you know, not. I could just come find you instead. I'm the Vampire Slayer Faith, and I don't care who's blood you've been chowing on, if you're a vamp, you're toast."

She paused, though, for a second. She was trying to figure out how exactly she was going to stake him, clinging to him like this. However, finally, some of his words caught up with her. She laughed a little. So, it was interesting now. This filthy vamp might have information that she needed.

"So, spill, already. Tell me what you know. But don't expect me to start behaving myself anytime soon."
