It was a cold, dreary day in London, but the young witch didn't let that get her down. Actually, since it was rarely anything but a cold, dreary day, she was used to it and it seemed quite normal. There was just a hint of rain on the wind, enough to make her shiver in her purple wizards robes. Her hair, of course, was the exact same shade of purple, and she had it shoulder-length. Today was one of her coordinating days, and she was quite proud of the effect she got in the form of double takes from people walking by, wizards and muggles alike.

Her wand, since she was out in the main part of London, was hidden up a sleeve of her robe, easily accessible but not visible. She was feeling good. She'd slept well the night before, and even though she was off to a day of meetings and paperwork, she had the feeling from hints that had been dropped around the Ministry that she was being sent on another mission, very soon. If so, it would be her first in about a month.

It was never a good idea for her to think and walk at the same time, and today was no different. She didn't see what she tripped over, but since she'd been known to literally trip over air, that didn't concern her too much. It was more of a fall than a trip, actually, and the Auror fell onto the muddy street.

With a resigned sigh, she picked herself up again, and started trying to brush the mud off. This absorbed most of her attention. Finally, she decided it was hopeless, the air was too... wait. The air had been damp, but now, it was very dry. She frowned. This was unusual. She raised her head, glanced around what should have been the streets of London, and blinked. The last time she'd checked, there'd been no deserts anywhere near England, and yet, here she was, definately in a desert.

She burst into action, took her wand out of her sleeve. She'd clearly been kidnapped, and the Order of the Phoenix would need to know. She didn't see any Death Eaters around at the moment, but that didn't mean that there wern't any.

"Expecto Patronum!"

Silver mist collected around the end of her wand, and burst into the shape of a large lizard, a chameleon, her patronus. She spoke to it commandingly, giving it orders.

"Alright, then, I want you to go find the closest Order member. Dumbledore would be best, but Molly or Minerva or I suppose even Severus would do. Just anyone, really. Go!"

She watched as the silvery, misty shape obediantly moved off, but in a direction she didn't quite expect. Straight up into the air, actually, right into the cloud cover. A few short moments later, as she was looking up, trying to figure out what her patronus was doing, it appeared again, diving down through the sky to hover in front of her. It shook it's head and simply disappeared.

Well, that was strange. She sighed softly. Something was keeping her message from getting out, which had never happened before. But she was inventive, she was sure she could find some way to help herself. First things first, though. The desert sun was scortching, and she was pretty much about to die. Her warm robe, appropriate for the streets of London, was smothering her here, so she stripped it off. Luckily, she always wore jeans and a t-shirt underneath, for comfort.

Then, she looked around once more, for cover or for someone coming. There really wasn't much of the former, but as she squinted, she thought she saw... yes, indeed, in the distance, there was a figure coming close to her. She narrowed her eyes. It could be a Death Eater, but she couldn't assume that it was. She could probably nab them with a spell right now, if she tried, but she just couldn't be sure.

The purple-haired Auror settled for keeping her wand trained on the approaching figure, ready with any number of spells, but not yet decided to use any of them. She'd see what the other person wanted, first. Maybe it was a mistake, but since she didn't know what was going on, she knew she shouldn't make any assumptions.

"What is a muggle? I'm afraid some of your words don't mean anything to me." The tall woman raked her fingers through her hair and then settled her hand back on the hilt of her sword. "What is that stick you call a wand? It doesn't look dangerous." Xena knew of a few wizards in her own time, but they didn't use wands. Just potions and spells, mostly.

As they arrived at the tablet and Tonks read it over, Xena stood back and waited. She wanted to give her space and some time alone to figure it out and understand it before she said or did anything. When Tonks looked at her and posed her question, Xena tried to be sensitive when she answered, even if that wasn't one of her stronger points. "Yes. This is your life. You can't leave, and unless it chooses to bring them here, you'll never see any of your family or friends again."

She pressed the key into the outstretched palm, giving her a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry. It's hard to get used to, but you'll acclimate." Xena was impressed with the way the witch pulled herself together and seemed to resolve herself to her new life. She nodded her approval of her strength and turned away from the plaque on the wall to head in the direction of the housing unit she was in. Xena really didn't know what Tonks meant by paperwork, but she assumed it was something she didn't like to do since she thought about thanking the Planet for not having to do it.

Units A through C were on one side of the main building, and units D-F were on the other side. She walked toward that side of the building and into the second lodging unit in. "This is your building. What number was it? 102?" She pulled the door open and stepped inside, walking down the hall, following the numbers until she found the right one. "Here it is. I don't know how it happens, but your room ends up looking the way you want it to look." Xena shrugged and leaned against the wall to one side of the room.

Tonks looked at Xena, the smile on her face still a bit shaken, but genuine. Now that she had more information, her natural curiousity was starting to take over, and soon, she would surely be going around pestering everyone she could find with questions. It was all just a part of her inquisitive nature. As they walked away from the plaque that had explained very little, yet quite a lot at the same time, she adresses the warrior woman's questions.

"A muggle is a non-magic user, someone without the gift to do magic. Some wizards and witches hate them and think they're useless, but my father was a muggle, so obviously I don't think that. As for this wand, well, perhaps it would be better to show you?"

As the two women reached her room, she fitted the key into the lock and turned it. The door opened easily. At first, the room was boring, bland, like a room you could find in any hotel throughout North America or Europe. She barely had a chance to arch an eyebrow at the other woman before the room changed somehow, becoming a copy of her room at home. She'd always had a taste for brightly colored things, and her living space was no different. Posters featuring wizard rockstars were all over the walls, which was painted pink and purple, colors that were echoed throughout the place in her sheets, blankets, and all other decorations. It was enough to give someone who wasn't used to it a headache.

Tonks, however, was delighted. She turned to the warrior woman, giving her a wide grin and pointing into her room.

"Bloody brilliant! Alright, so... this wand, it's not exactly a weapon. I mean, I don't hit people with it. With your permission, I can show you. Don't worry, I won't hurt you or anything, but muggles are usually pretty startled when they see this sort of thing."

She pulled her wand out, ready for the woman to grant her permission. She had any number of spells that would just create effects, and wouldn't actually do any harm to anyone around. After all, from what the plaque said, she wasn't allowed to kill anyone, so it would probably be best not to do anything that could even be seen as to harm someone. Not that she likely would, anyways. It wasn't her style, except when she was working.

"I see. And as you do not refer to yourself as a muggle, I assume that you are a magic user?" She shrugged and nodded. "I suppose by "show you" you mean demonstrate on me?" She wasn't at all sure about that, but she was pretty sure Tonks wasn't going to kill her or seriously harm her. And if she did, well.... she might just have to see how well she could use her chakram. Besides that, it was against the rules and she was pretty sure the Planet wouldn't like it.

She watched the young witch open the door to the room, and then watched it change and she almost shielded her eyes against the bright colors that filled it. From the look of pure delight on the woman's face, Xena assumed that she was perfectly alright with it being like that. Xena would have had a difficult time sleeping, let alone being awake with colors so vibrant filling her vision. She wasn't so sure about brilliant, but hey, to each his own. Xena wasn't one to scoff at the tastes of others, not so long as they were not threatening to anyone else.

"Yeah, sure. Why not? Go ahead." She still leaned against the wall and waited for the demonstration to begin. She wasn't quite sure what to expect, and she just hoped she didn't flinch too much and come off like a coward.

"Well, yeah, of course. These robes aren't just for show, and neither is the wand."

Although, her robes didn't look like much draped over her arm. She tossed the clothing inside the room, where it landed on the desk she had created, and then tapped her wand thoughtfully. She needed to choose a spell that would be effective and impressive, but not hurt the other woman in the slightest. After all, Xena had done nothing to her, and had, in fact, tried to make this uncomfortable and unusual situation easier for her. There was no reason to do anything painful, or even remotely embarassing.

"Alright. Watch my wand carefully. Expecto Patronum!"

It was one of her favorites, and it seemed pretty much perfect as a demonstration. The Patronus wouldn't attack Xena, not when the woman wasn't even threatening her, and it would be impressive enough to make a good impression. The mist swirled out of the tip of her wand and formed into a large lizard, crawling through the air.

Tonks leaned in, whispered something to it, and the large silver chameleon turned towards the warrior woman and spoke. It was a trick that, as far as she knew, only members of the Order of the Phoenix had learned how to do, though she might be wrong about that.

"Hullo, Xena!"

Tonk's voice came, not from her own lips, but from the whirling mist of the magical energy that made up the chameleon. Tonks, unconcerned by this, leaned casually against a wall and waited for Xena's reaction.

Xena was unfamiliar with robes and wands, and anyone coming from the world or time that Tonks did. "Right." She smirked and tried not to laugh at the witch's assumption that everyone must know what a witch or wizard was. She watched the robe as it was tossed into the room and landed on a desk. Nothing in the room looked familiar to Xena, and the posters on the walls were very strange. Were they moving? Unnerved, Xena moved so that she couldn't see into the room. She turned her attention back to the witch and waited for the demonstration to begin.

She couldn't fathom what was about to happen, and as instructed, she watched the end of the wand carefully. As the whisps of mist swirled out of the end and formed into the image of a lizard, Xena's eyes widened. She had seen more than a few strange things in her life, but this was one of the strangest. She stood back and watched it, and when it spoke, she cocked an eyebrow and shot her eyes to Tonks. "Interesting." She smirked a little, settling back against the wall, mirroring Tonks. She grinned. "I suppose you can do quite a lot of things with that wand thing, then?"

She nodded. "That's quite a talent you've got there. It must come in handy, huh?" She had her own talents, but none of them were of the magical variety. "Thanks for showing me. I can understand if you would like some time to yourself, but I'm more than willing to show you what I've discovered in this place so far. And, if you're hungry, we can get something for you in the kitchen." Xena pushed off the wall again, sidestepping the patronus and gesturing back down the hall.

"Yeah, everything from protection charms to the Patronus to fetching objects and all sorts of things, really. Very handy. Alright, as long as you're willing to show me around, I would like to see what you have to show me."

Proud of herself, the young Auror slid her wand into her back pocket and nodded at the warrior woman, a smile on her lips. Wherever she was, at least her magic still worked here. She had a sudden thought and frowned. What about Apparation? It wouldn't work if they were very far, and the plaque had said that she wouldn't be able to leave, but surely it was worth a try?

"Hey! Xena! Do you have any idea where we are in comparison to home?"

Come to think of it, she didn't really even know where the warrior woman came from. She tilted her head to the side thoughtfully, trying to work it out in her head. Apparation only worked for short distances, typically, so it might not even help her here, but she would certainly try.

"I ask because I think I might have a spell to get myself back, but it doesn't work over very far distances. I wonder where we are?"

Xena nodded and walked back down the hall. She walked with confidence, almost a swagger. As she had when she was back in her own world. She was a woman, and a warrior. And hardly anyone could take her down. Magicians might be another thing, though.

Xena gave some thought to the question before she answered. "Well, I'm not sure where your home is, but assuming this Planet is actually another planet and not Earth, it's my belief that we are quite far from home. Unfortunately." Xena scowled slightly. She was still quite irked that she had been stolen from the only home she knew and plunked down in this place without her best friend, or anyone else she knew for that matter.

As they walked out of the dormitory and ended up back outside, she pointed to the main building. "Everything I've found so far is in here. There are multiple rooms with different things in each one." She spoke as she walked back into the main building and began walking down one corridor. "I think this room is the ballroom I found this morning." She opened the door and nodded. "Yeah." She pointed inside and raised her brows. "Won't catch me in there." She smirked and moved on to the next door over. "This is some sort of entertainment room, though I have no idea what one would do in this place. You may find some use in it, however."

Unlike Xena's confident swagger, Tonk's bounced along, occaisionally tripping over things and then righting herself with the ease of long practice. She was always, always tripping on things, and was just used to it at this point. Most of the time, she didn't even notice it. Maybe the world had changed, but Tonks herself hadn't.

She followed the warrior woman, admiring the way she walked. Especially how she wasn't tripping every few seconds. Somehow, she managed to completely avoid all the multiple obstacles that Tonks seemed to manage to find every single one of. It wasn't fair, but then, that was life. She didn't let it get her down. She peered into the ballroom and burst out laughing.

"If you ever want to see me fall flat on my face, you can bring me to a dance. Not pretty."

She stopped in her tracks and looked at Xena for a moment. She'd suddenly come to a decision. She was going to try this. It could be dangerous, but she had to know that she'd tried everything that she could or else it would drive her crazy. Being kidnapped, even if by a planet, didn't exactly sit right with her.

"Hey, Xena! Can you give me a second? I'm gonna try something."

She pulled out her wand, concentrated briefly, and disappeared with a sharp crack noise that split the air like a whip. For a split second, the purpled-haired witch disappeared, and then she reappeared in exactly the same place. Her hair was messy and she was panting, slightly out of breath.

"No, I didn't think so. Alright, then. So, this room is...."

Acting as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened, and not even bothering to fix her hair, she peered into the room and looked around. She shrugged it off.

"Gotcha, maybe I'll look at it more, later."

She turned to the dark-haired warrior woman and tilted her head to the side. She really was thankful to her, and was glad now that she hadn't tried to attack her when they'd first met. She'd proven an excellent tour guide.

"You have been very helpful, thanks. Just one more thing, please, and then I'll leave you alone and wander around on my own. Where do I go to eat? I'm absolutely starving."

For Tonks, that was probably the most important thing. She could handle figuring everything out as she went, as long as she had proper food in her. In every situation, she had found, the best thing was to find the nearest source of food and go from there.

Xena couldn't figure out why, or what Tonks kept tripping over. The hall in the lodging unit was quite clean, and flat. There was nothing to trip over. At least, nothing she could see. She gave Tonks a confused look every time she faltered, but Tonks either didn't see them, or chose to ignore them. Xena, on the other hand, had traipsed over miles of ground with rocks, divets and small hills. Plenty of things to trip over, and yet she didn't. It might have just been the young witch's nature, to trip over her own feet. Gabrielle hadn't been all that graceful at times, but she was nothing like Tonks. After a while, it Xena didn't even notice it anymore.

She watched as the witch looked into the game room and then turned to her with a quizzical look. She wanted to ask a question and Xena hoped she could answer it. But when the question came, she grinned. "Well, there are the kitchens if you want to just grab something to go, like an apple or these sticky bars made of oats and dried fruit. Or, there's the restaurant where you can order whatever you like and they'll bring it to you. Depends on what you're in the mood for. I'll show them both to you and you can decide which one you'd prefer."

She beckoned her on down the hall and showed her two doors just off the foyer on opposite sides. "That is the door to the kitchen." She pointed to a door with a small round window in it, that looked as if it would swing if pushed. "And that is the door to the restaurant." She pointed to the other door. More ornate and pretty, and a bright red. "At the restaurant, if it isn't on the menu and you want it, you just have to tell the golems what you want and they'll make it. Somehow they know everything." Xena shrugged and waited for Tonks to make her decision.

"I think I'll go check on my horse Argo. If there's anything else you need, please don't hesitate to find me. I'm in room D105 in the building next to yours. I'll try to answer your questions to the best of my ability. But I've only been here a few days myself." Xena waited to see if there was anything else the purple-haired witch would need before she went out to the stables.

Xena chuckled at the mirthless statement regarding dancing that Tonks spoke as they looked in the ballroom and nodded. Xena had two left feet when it came to dancing. She could do it, just not well. She stopped and turned around when she was requested to stop a minute. She turned to watch the witch and blinked when the sharp crack rended the air and Tonks disappeared. But when she reappeared seconds later looking quite disheveled and bothered, Xena didn't ask any questions. This girl was a mystery, and if she spent all day asking questions, they wouldn't get anywhere.

Tonks was, in fact, completely oblivious to the fact that Xena was amused/bewildered by her constant tripping. She was so used to the weird looks at this point, they didn't even register. She didn't even notice that she was tripping unless she really hurt herself at this point, much less notice anyone else noticing.

"Alright, sounds brilliant! But, I don't know how much money I have, see, I haven't been to the bank in awhile, been busy and all that... how are the prices? Oh, and is there a Gringotts around anywhere? How do we earn more money?"

The more she talked, the more questions she seemed to have, as she tried to work her head around the idea that she was really here for good. She'd need a job, and wasn't sure what the call for Aurors was around here. She followed the warrior woman as they walked towards the two doors, still chattering away, apparently unphased by her failure with apparation. Of course, she hadn't given up. She would try again later.

"What do you do, Xena? What sort of job do you have here, and what about where you're from? I was an Auror, dark wizard catcher, loads of fun. I don't know how many dark wizards there would be for me to catch here. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself."

She looked back and forth between the kitchen and the restaurant thoughtfully. Eventually, she decided on the restaurant, because she was feeling the need for a real meal. She turned once more towards the other woman and offered her hand.

"Xena, you have been incredible. Thanks for all the help. Since you're the only one I know here, I bet I'll be seeing you again. Go see to your horse... funny, because I once read a story about a ship called the Argo, same name as your horse, do you think it's a coincidence? Anyways, thanks again."

"I don't know what a Gringotts is, but I don't think there is one around here. There's no bank, either. The Planet provides everything. Including food and clothes. You don't need money, here. It's worthless." Xena shrugged her shoulders. She started to chuckle when she was asked about her job.

"Well, I used to go around stopping powerful warlords from taking over small villages, and trying give things back to the people they rightfully belonged to and stopping small disasters from becoming potentially large distasters. But, lately I've been resigned to walking around this place, exploring, riding Argo and waiting." She frowned slightly and looked down, picking at her fingernails. "I'm not really sure what I'm waiting for, though." Shrugging again, she smiled and lifted her head. "You'll find something to do, I'm sure."

"I've just eaten, or I'd join you. And really, at that restaurant, you can order anything you can imagine and they'll bring it to you." It was kind of like those fabulous tables at Hogwarts. "We'll run into each other again, I'm in D105 if you have any questions! Enjoy your meal." Giving her a nod, she backed up and then turned around, walking out the doors toward the stables.
