It had taken a lot longer for Riddick to recover than he thought. But no where near as long as Cylus who had suffered greater than he had. And he cursed himself for not getting their sooner, for not being stronger against Lestat. This damn Rage was a curse in times like that. But then… the Rage… Cylus was Furyan which was so odd. He was said to be the last. Yet.. He saw it with his on two eyes. The fact that he and Cylus joined together, their Rage’s mixing. It made what Riddick thought he was feeling, all that he thought he knew when it came to his First Among Commanders, ring true. It made it real.
And it scared him. Because as he finally regained his strength he was sitting by the bed, watching as Cylus peacefully slept. He wasn’t as pale as he was before. He was deep in color, the faint blue print still on his chest. And Riddick’s hand itched. He knew if he placed his hand on Vaako’s chest, the print would be a perfect match to his hand. It was freaking scary to him.
Closing his eyes, Riddick tried to relax, to focus. And it worked until a flash..an odd flash of a moment long ago came into his mind. A moment that he had forgotten until now and it unnerved him. He shook slightly and his eyes flew opened and he looked down at the sleeping man, focusing on him and no the image that flew into his mind and that was now trying to come further into the front, force Riddick to think about it. He refused. It was a mistake and a long time ago.
Standing, he moved to the bath to clean up, to make himself think about Vaako and the talk he knew was to come the moment he woke up. It was time to talk about all that went down. Maybe once they had the disturbing thoughts would go away. Riddick just needed to know if what he felt… was returned. It was like.. He didn’t have a choice. He honestly felt he didn’t have a choice in how he felt. And he wasn’t sure he liked it though it did just feel natural.
