Corran had to hand it to whoever ran the resort, they took very good care of the guests. His wardrobe was full of clothes for him and also Valin, and he never ran out of any food or other necessities for the baby. There was also a sort of backpack that Corran could carrying Valin around in. Also, to his glee, he found out that his X-Wing never ran out of fuel and was always in tip top condition. At first, he'd been wary that someone had been messing with it so he'd left Whistler to guard it. Whistler had reported, however, that no one had been near it. It mystified him but now he could go out for a spin whenever he wanted to.

The first day he'd been there, he'd tried to leave the planet on his starfighter. However, as he was flying towards space, warning bells went off in his head and he veered sharply away. Testing, he'd fired at nothing but air, only to have the shots bounce off some barrier. Try as he might, he wasn't able to get off the planet. He was glad he had his X-wing... but to be honest, he missed the excitement of missions. He missed his friends. He missed his wife. Corran wished there was some way to get in touch with Mirax, to let her know he was alright and Valin was with him.

One day, Corran woke up to discover the resort had changed into a snowy land. Since Valin had never seen know before, he decided, what the hell, he'd take advantaged of the situation. Bundling his son up warmly and dressing likewise, he left Whistler inside (didn't want the droid to get stuck in the snow) and went out.

He didn't go too far before he plopped down in the snow, scooping up some of the white and putting a bit on Valin's nose. The baby just looked up at his father like "What the heck did you just do, Dad?"

Corran laughed. "Now if I was like Luke, I could make a whole bunch of snowballs and make them float around for you. Best your old man can do, though, is make you think that snowballs are dancing around you, but you're too smart for that, aren't you, kid? You'd see right through your old dad," he said, adding a little bit of a coo at the end. If any of his fellow Rogue Squadron members saw him now, they'd probably tease him but at the moment, his son was one of the few things he cared deeply about that was still with him, so he didn't care if strangers saw him in a moment of silliness.

Yvaine listened to Corran speak with genuine interest. He was lucky that his son was able to be here with him. It was interesting that he was one who traveled in the vastness of space. She had met another like him not too long ago, though they seemed very different.

Her brows cinched together at the name of his ship. “Starfighter? You did not use it to actually fight the stars, I hope?” The comment itself might seem teasing, but she was serious. Who would want to fight the stars anyway? They were a peaceful people, shining for the humans below them when their mother Moon was too weary from how brightly she always shone.

“Oh. I have only ever heard of the Planets in the solar system in which Earth moves. Corellia is a beautiful name, though. Is it as beautiful as it sounds?” When he told of his home in Coruscant, Yvaine wasn’t sure what to make of it. She very much enjoyed the nature she viewed on Earth, and it was difficult to imagine an entire planet covered by one large mass of city. “How do you live easily without trees and lakes and soil around you?” The star wondered if his wife enjoyed it there. She couldn’t imagine raising a child in a place like that. Then again, it didn’t matter because she would never get the chance to raise a child. A small frown tugged at her lips at the thought, but she suppressed it and resumed her smiling at the small child before her.

“Is the entire city one large republic? I know there are various republics on Earth, but they are all separated by borders and land masses and oceans. They are not one large city.”

As much as Yvaine disliked the idea of a planet comprised of one large city, she disliked the idea of militaries. The worst parts about the Earth she observed had been the wars and violence caused mostly by power struggles. It saddened her, and made her wish to look away, but there were too many good things about the Earth to be observed for her to never again peer and the goings-on below her.

“Were you involved in the military during peacetime?” Her voice held a bit of hope for that. Despite her disgust with militaries in general, she knew she could not judge the individual soldiers whose paths had taken them down that route.

Corran laughed. "Fight stars? No, that would be... difficult, I imagine," he said, not knowing that Yvaine herself was a star. "Never heard of a planet called Earth. It is a beautiful place. Corellia isn't just one big city like Coruscant.

When asked how he survived without nature, he shrugged. "I feel most at home in the sky and space anyway. I love to fly. I'm told I'm not fun to deal with when I've been grounded for a while," Corran admitted. "It's not so bad living in the city. There was a war that only ended a few years ago and the New Republic was very recently formed."

Corran was a little confused by her words. "Uhm... I think that's sort of like this New Republic, only split up between planets. Traveling to other places in the galaxy is easy. Not everyone in the galaxy is apart of the Republic. There's still some people around who support the Empire, the old government that was overthrown. I was a Corellian Security Officer before I joined the Rebels. Corellia likes to keep to itself a lot so I wasn't much involved with the war until I had to leave the planet for my own safety."
