Corran had to hand it to whoever ran the resort, they took very good care of the guests. His wardrobe was full of clothes for him and also Valin, and he never ran out of any food or other necessities for the baby. There was also a sort of backpack that Corran could carrying Valin around in. Also, to his glee, he found out that his X-Wing never ran out of fuel and was always in tip top condition. At first, he'd been wary that someone had been messing with it so he'd left Whistler to guard it. Whistler had reported, however, that no one had been near it. It mystified him but now he could go out for a spin whenever he wanted to.

The first day he'd been there, he'd tried to leave the planet on his starfighter. However, as he was flying towards space, warning bells went off in his head and he veered sharply away. Testing, he'd fired at nothing but air, only to have the shots bounce off some barrier. Try as he might, he wasn't able to get off the planet. He was glad he had his X-wing... but to be honest, he missed the excitement of missions. He missed his friends. He missed his wife. Corran wished there was some way to get in touch with Mirax, to let her know he was alright and Valin was with him.

One day, Corran woke up to discover the resort had changed into a snowy land. Since Valin had never seen know before, he decided, what the hell, he'd take advantaged of the situation. Bundling his son up warmly and dressing likewise, he left Whistler inside (didn't want the droid to get stuck in the snow) and went out.

He didn't go too far before he plopped down in the snow, scooping up some of the white and putting a bit on Valin's nose. The baby just looked up at his father like "What the heck did you just do, Dad?"

Corran laughed. "Now if I was like Luke, I could make a whole bunch of snowballs and make them float around for you. Best your old man can do, though, is make you think that snowballs are dancing around you, but you're too smart for that, aren't you, kid? You'd see right through your old dad," he said, adding a little bit of a coo at the end. If any of his fellow Rogue Squadron members saw him now, they'd probably tease him but at the moment, his son was one of the few things he cared deeply about that was still with him, so he didn't care if strangers saw him in a moment of silliness.

Yvaine’s smile broadened as the child squealed gleefully at her, reaching out to her. The evening star who was very much up and about during the day reached out to touch the little bundles gloved hand. Her eyes moved toward the obvious father of the boy when he smoke. “I’m glad.” She said honestly.

“I am called Yvaine.” The star responded, allowing her other hand to move to Corran’s. “It is a pleasure to meet you both.” She could feel his eyes on her, studying her, but she had grown so used to these looks that she paid it no mind. Instead, she moved her attentions to Valin, tickling the boy under his chin with a gloved finger. “He is beautiful. Was he brought here with you?”

Yvaine loved children. They had always shown so much joy and interest in the world around them. They had the ability to use their imaginations to create any sort of world they desired. They were beautiful, mirth filled, and energetic. It always made her a little sad that she would never have any of her own. All stars were females, and they could not bear children even if they could commit to the act that conceived them.

“From what sort of world to you hail?” Yvaine found herself asking. She had met many people from many different worlds, and she wondered if he came from one that was different still from theirs. If curiosity killed the cat, it only strengthened the star.

"Yeah, he's stuck with me," Corran said jokingly. The woman, Yvaine, spoke similar to the young woman he had met before, Susan. Perhaps they were from the same world? "Well, I come from a place where space travel is common. I actually have my starfighter, my ship with me. I was born and raised on a planet called Corellia but now I live on a planet called Coruscant with my wife and this little guy. It's a planet completely covered by one big gigantic city. I'm with Rogue Squadron. We're... sort of like security officers for the Republic, a part of the military."
