Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:complete, day 3, rose tyler, the doctor

Who: Rose and the Doctor
What: Drinking and fun!
Where: Starting in their room, then one of the bars
When: Day 3, after the group activities
Rating: PG-13 for snogging and sort of wandering hands
Status: Threaded, Complete!

"So how was your fishing trip?" Rose asked, clearly amused as she glanced over to the Doctor. She was standing in front of the closet, trying to decide if she should change or not. It was early enough that there was still plenty of time to do something else for the evening-- dinner sounded good, of course. And then after that? Well, she thought that she and the Doctor should find something to do.

She turned around hooking her thumbs in her belt loops as she made her way over to flop down on the bed, feet in the air. "Wanna go find something to do tonight? I don't think I want to stay cooped up in our room all evening. There's so much to do around here!"

"Wha- oh! Bars, Doctor. I was referring to the bars. I haven't seen any women around here yet. I mean, I've seen a few walking around, but I haven't met any of them." A golem passed them and she waved at it, laughing as it waved in return before continuing on its way. "I don't think I've seen any of them do that yet."

"Oh! Well, that makes a lot more sense!" he laughed, glad that he hadn't launched into a more elaborate description. "Well, whichever one is closest, I suppose. We can always work our way round them all if we get dangerously bored!" he suggested.

He gave a little snort as the golem returned her wave; everything they did either amused or surprised him. They were just such strange creatures that he almost expected them to be stony in character as well as in appearance, but that was not always the case. "Right, let's try this one!" he decided, spotting one of the bars.

"Do you think we'll ever get dangerously bored around here?" Rose asked, amused. She followed him into the nearest bar. "Booth, table, or bar?" she asked, and then tugged him over to a booth. For now. "What'll you have?"

"They do seem to be determined to keep us entertained!" he admitted. Mind you, there was a big difference between resort style entertainment and their usual idea of fun. "Although they don't seem to think we're capable of entertaining ourselves!" he grinned. Really, this was a leisure planet gone loopy.

"Eh.." he didn't get a chance to respond before being pulled into a booth. "Yeah, lovely!" he laughed. "Oh, I don't know, surprise me!" he suggested, raising an eyebrow as soon as the words left his mouth. "On second thoughts, that sounds a bit dangerous!" he grinned.

Rose laughed, moving back to her feet. "I thought we liked danger? And adventure! Okay, I'll- wait." She lifted an eyebrow. "Will you actually let it affect you tonight?"

"Fine! What's life without a little adventure," he agreed, a little scared of what she might present him with; it had been quite a while since he'd allowed alcohol to affect him. When had he become a responsible drinker? He supposed after the first couple of centuries alcohol kind of lost its thrill. Still, when in Rome and all that. "Yeah, might as well live on the edge. Plus, I wouldn't want you looking like a moron all on your own!" he teased.

Rose brightened, leaning over to kiss him on the cheek. "Thank you," she said, spinning around to practically skip over to the bar. She ordered a couple of drinks-- banana martinis to start sounded pretty good-- and some food before making her way back to the table. "It's on its way!"

The Doctor gave her an enthusiatic smile as she kissed his cheek; he was being thanked for agreeing to get drunk. That wasn't the way things usually worked, but then they weren't exactly normal. While she was away, the Doctor took the time to properly make a conscious decision to let the alcohol affect him, taking a couple of deep breaths as he let the information work its magic.

"Excellent!" the Doctor beamed as Rose reappeared. "You know, there really could be worse places to be stuck!" he decided, which was about as eager a response as you were likely to get from him.

Rose didn't plan on getting too drunk, but it could be fun to just...relax a bit. She grinned as she slid into the booth across from him. "They had chocolate banana martinis. I figured we can't go too wrong with that." Some might consider it a girly drink, but hey- they tasted good!

"There really is. It's...fun," she said. "I'd still like to be able to leave if we could, though. Like...it's nice for a visit but I don't know that I want to stay here forever."

"Chocolate banana martinis? Chocolate? And Banana? And alcohol?" That had certainly put a smile on his face. "You're a genius. I like your surprises!" he gushed.

"Yeah, they can dress it up as much as they like, it's still a prison. The amount of energy it must be using up dragging people here... breaking so many galactic laws and... blah!" he finished shaking his head as if trying to shake all the negativity away. "Ok, I'm going to try and stop worrying for at least an hour!" he decided, reaching out to place a hand on top of hers.

"Chocolate, banana, and alcohol," Rose replied with a laugh, brightening at his enthusiasm. She tilted her head, listening to his prison comment-- because, well, yeah-- it did feel a bit like one.

"Cheers!" she said, turning her hand to give his a light squeeze. "That sounds like a brilliant plan." Just then, a girl came by with their drinks and food. They had a sampler platter thing with some chicken strips, chips, some sort of spinach dip, and some other things-- Rose figured that'd be good enough for now.

"Yep, if I start to ramble off into worry-land again, you can pinch me or something!" he grinned before glancing over at the server. "Thanks!" he said brightly, knowing not to expect a response. He surveyed the platter in front of them before looking back to Rose with mild amusement. "I see you've extended your food intake beyond purely potato based products," he teased, unable to keep the little smirk off his face.
