Day Fifteen
Who: Vaako and Riddick
What: Nighttime discussions.
When: Um... in the nighttime. Day 15.
Where: Their room
Rating: PG-ish
Status: Complete

It wasn't exactly that he would say he'd been avoiding Riddick... or maybe that's precisely what he would say, actually. Since the unsettling conversation with the Ranger who spoke in riddles, and then the oddness in the library after, when he hadn't had the chance to talk to the Furyan about what he'd almost learned, he had just been spending lots of time outside his room.

Even tonight, after coming in, he'd been quiet. Not that this was all that unusual for him, really. But normally, they exchanged at least a few words. They'd become sort of comfortable, despite everything. Or so Vaako had thought. That, however, was before all sorts of weirdness had happened. Now, everything felt different. And, he couldn't for the life of him figure out if he liked it that way or not.

Strong, beautiful in his own way, Riddick was still not the type Vaako would normally find himself going for. For one thing, he'd never been unfaithful to his wife, and since they were joined, he hadn't done anything sexual with a man. For another, well, Vaako was a fairly dominant person, and tended to find those subservient to him. Riddick, well, he really wasn't. But that didn't change anything. 'His type' or not, he wanted his Lord Marshal. It was time to be very clear on that fact. Even if he never did anything about it, and he probably wouldn't, he wasn't going to lie to himself.

He'd been lying in bed, pretending to read a book, but in reality wrestling with himself, for the past couple of hours. Finally, he set the book down. With an overly-elaborate attempt at being casual, he looked over to the other bed. It was time to bite the bullet. He had some answers to get. He was going to use all his considerable skill at subtlety, but he was going to ask his questions.

"My Lord Riddick..." He began in an overly formal way, and then could have smacked himself. But he kept going, hoping the other man wouldn't hate him. "I had an... interesting conversation yesterday."

He slowly climbed up off the floor and sat down on the bed, his hand not leaving the other man's chest. Slowly, he exerted pressure on Riddick's chest, the first time he'd dared to do anything like that. The days kept passing, though, since he'd gone to be pufified last. It was wearing off, if his nightmares were anything to go by.

As he pushed Riddick down, he lay down as well. His hand stayed on the other man's chest, feeling the muscles beneath his fingers. He could feel Riddick's heart beating. It made him smile, for some reason that he wasn't even close to sure about.

Cautiously, almost like an animal who is scared to show affection because they've been beaten one too many times, Vaako rested his head on Riddick's shoulder. He felt like he was being too forward, too daring, but after all they'd shared, surely he would be allowed too do this. Even if he wasn't, Riddick would surely make this very clear.

The man with the long, dark hair still hanging around his shoulders and back yawned softly as he lay there, waiting to see if Riddick would push him away, if he would yell at him or hurt him.

"Let's sleep, then. This is too much for me to take just now, and with this feeling that something is coming for me, I just want to rest without the dreams."

He didn't protest. He couldn't. He was too frozen with everything that when Vaako was beside of him Riddick did something he had never done before. He moved toward Vaako, wrapped strong arms around him and pulled him close protecting him yet clinging to him as well.

" Sleep.. too much." He mumbled his eyes already closing from his weakness. Something..all of this. They would figure it out he hoped.

Just before he allowed himself to give completely into sleep, Riddick once more did something he would have never done before. He spoke openly, honestly . But sleep was taking him quickly.

"I will protect you nothing will take you.." his voice went softer as sleep took him completely. "Away from me..."
