He hurt. And he had not been able to move from the bed for the most part. He had woken up to find Vaako gone.He was not at all shocked to be honest. But fuck, he hurt. He could barely stand but he forced himself to. He also forced himself to dress and leave this damn room.

Maybe if he was away from the memory, the scent of Vaako things would be better. This pain would stop and not get worse. He knew the touch of the other man would stop the pain. Yet, Vaako was gone. And he wasn't sure he wanted to look for him. He wasn't really sure he wanted to explore this.. whatever the fuck happened when Vaako touched him. When he was just near him.

So he went for a walk. Barely. Several times he felt like he would pass out, and several times he almost had. He no longer cared about finding a way off this damn planet. He just cared about a way to stop this shit that was happening to him. Happening between him and the Necro. He didn't care, he didn't love, he didn't fall in love. This was not him. He didn't need anyone. He didn't need them the way he was starting to need Vaako. Just to fucking breathe. And he sure as fuck didn't need to be able to feel. To feel emotions like this, to feel Vaako within him.

He made it to the beach before he fell to the sand on his knees. his head bent as he tried to breathe, tried to not feel pain. Tried to not think of Vaako and wish him near. He also tried hard not to feel and appear vulnerable, opened and raw just in case someone happened upon him. Thankfully his senses were not too down as he felt someone, someone whose scent was familiar but he could not place right now due to his mind being a mess.

He'd woken up this morning with an overwhelming urge to climb a tree. Not just any tree, of course, but the palm trees that were near the beach. He'd never seen anything like them, and figured they would at least be a challenge to climb. He liked challenges. So, while the sun was still rising, he'd snuck out of his room, past the one occupied by the Ranger. Again, he felt stupid doing it, but he wasn't able to handle talking to him. Not yet. Though he couldn't avoid him forever, Mirage was simply too small.

Safely past, he made it down to the beach and slung his bow over his shoulder. He eyed the rough bark of the tree warily, and then laughed light-heartedly, shrugged, and started climbing. It was deceptively easy, actually. The rough bark helped, gave him a good grip. Soon, he was at the top, settled in among the leaves. From up there, he had an excellent view. He shaded his sensitive eyes from the bright sun as he looked around. He tried to convince himself he wasn't looking for, or even thinking about, Aragorn.

Suddenly, he stiffened up. Someone was coming, but not the Ranger. He was far off, yet, but the Elf had no problem identifying who it was. Riddick, the irritating, arrogant human he had met before. The one he'd complained to Aragorn about. Instinctively, his hand went to his bow, and he held it ready as he reached for an arrow. He would jump down ready.

But something about the way that Riddick was walking, or almost staggering, made him frown thoughtfully. There was something not right here, he could tell. And though he was mischievious, he was also a good person. He tilted his head to the side and almost studied the face of the other man as he walked over very near the tree Legolas perched in, and fell down onto his knees.

In a flash, the Elf was jumping out of the tree to land silently behind and just to the left of the bald human. He paused there, still holding his bow, ready in case Riddick did something stupid like attacked him.

"Oh, such misfortune... if I had known today that I would meet you, I would have stayed safely away in my room. Greetings to you, Riddick."

First sign that Riddick was not quite right? He had left and without his weapons. Sure he could do damage with his bare hands. But he never left without his shivs. Yet here he was on his knees, no weapons and truly too weak to protect himself.

Second sign was though he knew someone was there, he still jumped almost out of his skin when the Elf dropped down and spoke. Figures that today of all days he would have to run into the Elf. Yet he was too defeated to really do much other than to slouch down, keep his eyes adverted and still be able to throw an insult back.

"Not shocked that this fucking place would see fit for us to run into each other today of all days. Can't say it's a pleasure to see ya,Legolas."

Today, of all days, he did not need this. He did not want this. Not any day but least of all today. And fucking hell this pain needed to stop. Needed to go away and now.

He walked over and stood warily over the man, who was still on his knees. He had his bow in his hand, but wasn't pointing it at the man. Nor was there an arrow ready to go. He was ready, but not necessarily assuming trouble would happen. Just ready in case it did. He was pretty good at reading people, in general, and he sensed that around Riddick, trouble usually happened.

"You forgot your shiny knives, you know. I am quite surprised, I wouldn't think you were the sort to do that."

He knelt down, wondering why Riddick wasn't moving much. His eyes, always indicative of his moods, were dark. But with everything going on with Aragorn, it was no surprise. They were still sharply focused on Riddick, and he missed nothing.

"Well, as we have run into each other despite a clear desire on both of our parts not to, there must be a reason for it. The Valar would not have us meet, otherwise. I had thought myself well rid of you, and yet, here we are."

"Thank you for pointing out the obvious. I am very much aware of the fact that I forgot my shivs. I am kicking myself for doing just that, thank you."

Sighing softly once more, Riddik fell from his knees to his ass. He was not in the mood to do this. To go rounds with the fucking Elf. On top of all this, his chest was inflamed. The glowing blue print was surely bright even under his clothing.

"I am thinking this Valor of yours hates me and is punishing me. I am not in the mood to deal with you, Elf. SO take your shit somewhere else."

He smirked just slightly, amused by how he had apparently managed to get under the human's skin. But it wasn't as sweet a victory as he would have hoped. He knew Riddick wasn't himself, even though he barely knew the man. It was obvious.

"I was merely pointing it out, Lord Riddick."

He fell to his knees beside the other man, his eyes drawn to the strange, muffled glow he found on the other man's chest. Most people probably couldn't even have seen it, blocked as it was by the other man's clothing, but he could. He frowned and reached out as if he was going to touch Riddick's chest. His fingers stopped a few small inches away.

"The Valar only punish those who deserve it, my Lord. Do you?" He caught the other man's eyes, or at least, he thought he did. It was hard to tell through those thick glasses. "No, I shall not leave. I think, rather, that I will stay and you can tell me what it is that causes you such pain. Why do you glow, my Lord?"

He was pretty sure he would rather rip his chest apart than deal with this pain. He was also sure he would rather drown himself than to deal with the Elf since he felt way too weak to leave.

"And I was merely saying I don't need you to point it out."

When he more felt Legolas' hand coming close to the print, not sure why it did to shock him this Elf could see despite the clothing. He was glad his eyes were covered by his goggles because they went wide at the pain that shot through him. The thought of someone else touching his chest, touching the print hurt. The closer Legolas got the more the pain increased until Riddick was pulling away almost violently, scurrying away from the Elf.

"Don't." He bit out then breathed through the pain. "It would seem I deserve to be punished, Elf. " He couldn't look at the Elf though his voice held a slight bit of amusement to it when he spoke though it was laced with pain as well. "What makes you think I would tell you what is bothering me? Not even shocked as to how you know or saw he glow. But do not ask me a question I have no answer to."

He settled down on his knees so he was on the same level as the human, and he looked at him thoughtfully. This whole experience was far from what he would have expected from the bald man. He must be hurting a lot to show this side of him, a side even Legolas wouldn't have believed to exist.

"Very well, though it is too late for me not to point it out. I have already."

But the words were not particularly focused, and he was frowning slightly. For just that short period of time, Legolas felt Aragorn leave his mind. Not completely, he never could, but this was a creature in pain and Legolas had never been any good at being around that and not trying to help.

"Quiet, hush... No more talk of the Valar, they are not here." The words were said soothingly, and wouldn't have been out of place for a mother comforting a hurt child. How odd was it to be talking to him this way? But he didn't know any other way to offer help. "You are in pain. Is it to do with the blue glow on your chest?"

He had to admit, his human side, the side that was learning ot show emotion and pick up on it when someone else was showing it, was touched by the Elf being so nice. But the animal side of him, the side that didn't care, didn't feel, didn't care about being shown compassion was still there and he found it funny. Only not. Because his human side was winning out and the fact that the Elf was not using Riddick's state against him, was touching him. He was so close to tears it was not funny. The pain, the emotion all of it. H ewas proud of himself for not giving in.

Riddick fell back on the sand, not being able to move, and also finding he did not want to when Legolas came even closer , invading his space as much as he could. He begged for the pain to stop. Begged for Vaako to show up to take it away but it didn't happen.

All was forgotten except the pain, the print. He didn't look at the Elf as he spoke. His words were bitten out, pauses every now and then to take deep breaths through the pain. "I don't know. Something about the Rage of my people. But it got worse and fuck hurts like hell."

It was strange to be speaking to a grown man, one as tall as the Elf which was rare for a human, and nearly twice as broad, like a child. He realized it, or part of him did, and found it amusing. It was a tone more suited to dealing with someone much smaller than you, and Riddick wasn't. And he knew, too, that Riddick was an easy target just now. But he didn't take that target, didn't even really consider it, despite his dislike of the man.

"Oh. I see. So this Rage has turned inward, then? And causes you pain?"

He frowned thoughtfully as he reached to touch Riddick again, but this time he avoided the glowing area. Riddick had scurried away when he had tried to touch him there before, and he wouldn't try again. Instead, his hands closed on the other man's shoulders, and he did his best to look into the eyes of the Furyan. It was hard with the glasses in the way.

"I know little of such things, though I am an Elf and my people are skilled with magic. Is this a curse someone placed on you?"

He knew that he the Elf was treating him as a kid. But right now it hurt too much to really be bothered. Besides it could be worse and the Elf could be taking advantage of this situation.

"Don't know. I don't.. it's different. The first time I felt it, it exploded, killing those near me, knocking the rest on their ass.But it didn't linger. It was quick, painless. Now.. now, it's different. It won't stop.. only when.." He trailed off and looked at the Elf this time. Something odd...... It was like his mind was seeing what it wanted. But he was wrong he knew it.

Yet he found himself moving closer to the Elf, sitting up as well."It was given to me to revenge m people.. something about all of my people having this but only one having it stronger and with different affects." He paused, muttering. "Fucking Elemental not being here to explain this shit." He was still moving as he spoke which if he had known it he would have stopped yet he didn't.

The Elf nodded slightly, not really understanding fully, but he got the gist of it. And when Riddick moved closer to him, he saw nothing in it but a desire for comfort. Which he gave, not being able to really help himself. His arms slid around muscular shoulders, and his full intention was to hug the man. What else could he do, when someone was in pain like this?

"I do not like you, Lord Riddick, and I suspect I never will, but I would not see you so torn. There must be something to do to ease the pain, you just need to think of what it is."

When he thought about it more, he realized that hugging this dangerous man would likely be a very unwise thing to do. He stopped, frowning, and decided he couldn't quite make himself take his life into his hands like that. But they were very close together, and he laughed once lightly before he started to pull away. This was really too intimate a pose to be in with someone he disliked.

"I know how to stop it, just isn't close by for me to use it right now." He bit out as the pain got worse, feeling dizzy. He sat up as hishead swam and his eyes focused on Legolas but it was not the Elf he was seeing.

All other words left his mind as he lenaed in, not at all thinking as his lips brushed across those of the Elf. He could not explain what got into him. And it seemed as though his body knew this was not the man he was seeing in his mind.

His chest began to burn and against those lips of the Elf, Riddick whispered one word. One name and it was like a prayer, a plea and a curse. "Vaako..." Then he pulled away, gasping as he blinked and looked at the Elf with wide eyes. No.. he.. fuck.

"Now more reason to hate me. May our paths not cross again." Despite the pain, Riddick stood, begged himself to run. His legs barely worked but he managed to get away without falling.

To say he was caught completely and totally off guard by the kiss of the Human was about the understatement of the year. He gasped, immediately pulled away, but Riddick had already done the same and was staggering away. The Elf's thoughts whirled as he tried to think, tried to figure out what had just happened.

Riddick spoke to him, but he only barely noticed most of the words. One, though, stood out more than the others. Mostly just for the way the human had said it. It sounded like a name, like a name of someone beloved. Interesting...

He watched, his hands to his lips, as the human ran off. He would have normally tried to help him, but right now, he couldn't make himself do that. Instead, he only watched, and then sighed and started off in a different direction. He needed to get back to his room, before anything else wierd happened.
