Who: Haruka and Michiru
When: Day 10 evening
Where: Their room
Why: Reunion and catching up
Rating: PG-13
Status: Complete!

Michiru tried hard to keep from running back to the room with Haruka, but she did walk faster than normal. When they got back to their room, she quickly unlocked the door and pushed it open. She pulled the taller girl in after her and shut the door.

"I thought I'd never see you again!" she said, looking over her shoulder as she entered further into the room. She sat down on the edge of the bed, and indicated for Haruka to join her. She was silent for a long moment, just taking in the sight of her. She gave a short, sardonic laugh.

"I'm sorry for everything I've said about you, Planet" she said, addressing the room in general. She couldn't be bitter, not anymore. The Planet really had provided everything.

Haruka shook her head and smiled at Michiru's evasiveness. She'd missed all of this, all of her quirks and foibles. "She'll need more now that this bunch is trapped here with me." Her smile widened. "Usagi and Mamoru are planning their wedding. Everyone's been helping." She pretended to shudder. "She's had me and Hotaru-chan on fabric duty for the last week."

"Three days for you, perhaps...." Haruka's brow furrowed as she tried to comprehend exactly what had happened to them. "Perhaps this planet's time runs differently than Earth?"

"Ah my poor Haruka" Michiru said with mock sympathy. "They made you go shopping didn't they?" She reached up to brush back the other girl's hair. There was so much to absorb. Usagi was getting married? Not unexpected, but still... The thought of the bubbly young girl doing something so mature as getting married was rather odd.

"Maybe time does run differently. I'm sorry. I've been moping around for only a few days, but you... I am very sorry, it wasn't my choice to come here"

Suddenly she remembered something. "Ah, by the way, Mamoru is here too. But he's... not as we know him"

Haruka nodded, pouting just a little, but it was ruined by her smile. "We were at another infernal fabric store when I was brought here. I'd stepped outside for just a moment, and stepped onto the beach outside in the middle of that tempest." Her eyes took on a faraway look as she remembered the odd events of the day. "Poor Hotaru-chan must be so worried by now, especially if time does run differently. How long has it been for her?"

She shook herself out of her musings and turned to Michiru, squeezing her hands tightly, careful not to brush against her fingertips. "I know. We were going to burn in Hell together." She smirked. "I thought you'd gone on without me, or left me to my own personal Hell."

Concern crossed her features as Michiru mentioned Mamoru. "Mamoru is here? But, I saw him only yesterday, with Usagi. How can he be here? There were no frantic calls this morning before we left about him disappearing. Unless...did he disappear when I did?"

"Not by choice" Michiru said with a soft smile. "I would never leave you." Her words were simple, but the emotion behind them was as deep as the ocean itself. It was nothing less than the truth. She was lost without her Haruka.

She gave a reluctant sigh when Haruka asked about Mamoru. Still, she had better explain before those two ran into each other. "He's not the Mamoru you and I know. He's... younger. Doesn't know us except from past life memory" she gave a sardonic half smile. "And we know how faulty that can be.

Haruka only smiled at Michiru's words. She knew the other woman would never leave her by choice, just as she would never leave Michiru by choice. Whichever of the poets who'd said the promises of women could be written on the wind and waves, and meant it as women were fickle creatures clearly didn't understand exactly how the wind and waves worked.

Haruka tilted her head as she listened to Michiru's explanation of Mamoru, trying to understand exactly what she meant. How could he be younger? Wouldn't that mean that he hadn't been around for everything else that happened? But Mamoru had always been by Usagi's side, always. As long as Haruka had known Usagi, Mamoru had been there. "How is this possible?" she asked. At the mention of faulty past-life memory, she smirked. "We weren't to know," she said, shaking her head a little. "If Setsuna had been a little more forthcoming with information, we could have avoided a lot of problems."

She rose from the bed and walked around the room, looking at everything with disbelief. "How can the people here do this?" she asked. "How do they know what our room looks like? How can they have such detail?" She turned back to Michiru. "The stain is there, on the table. How could they know there was a stain on the table?"

Michiru shook her head slightly. "If Setsuna was - had been - more forthcoming, things wouldn't have worked out correctly. Free action is important. We had to make out own decisions." She'd had several conversations with the older senshi about this very topic, and while she still didn't quite understand all of Setsuna's explanation, she was willing to take on faith that the senshi of Time knew what she was talking about.

"I don't know how it's possible, but the Mamoru here, he doesn't remember _anything_ after getting kidnapped by the Dark Kingdom." And he's a jerk, she thought, but didn't quite say out loud. Still, some of her contempt was probably coming through in her tone.

She watched as Haruka rose and started looking at the room. She'd done much the same her first night here, though that had been partially because she hadn't been able to sleep.
"I'm not sure exactly how it works. I thing the Planet, or whatever controls this place can pick things from out thoughts and memories"

Haruka sighed. She'd had her own conversations with the Senshi of Time about it as well. It still didn't entirely make sense to her, but she had to accept that Setsuna knew what she was talking about. "I know. A hint or two would have been appreciated, though." Now she was just being petulant. She was allowed a very little petulance, especially in the privacy of her own room.

She turned back to Michiru, hearing the other woman's tone darken as she spoke about the prince. "Nothing?" It made no sense. "When did you speak with him?" she asked. Clearly, whenever they'd spoken, things hadn't gone well. She tried to remember what the others had said about Mamoru when he was younger, but found she couldn't. She had learned it was best to tune out about half of what the Inners gossiped about, and she must have tuned out this particular bit of information. She wished she'd paid better attention now.

She opened the closet doors and regarded the racks. "I'm not sure I like the idea of having my mind read by unknowns." She rifled through the closet. "My riding jacket even has the scuff marks from when I wiped out taking the corner too fast when I was learning to ride a motorcycle." She shook her head, then turned back to Michiru. "When I saw all of your things in here this morning, I thought it was a joke. A very, very cruel joke."

"Nothing" she said with another sigh. "He was the first person I met here. We had a bit of a disagreement" she said with her usual talent for understatement. "He thinks too much of himself." She hadn't thought too much about why he might have been acting as he had. That day had been such a whirlwind of confusion and pain that she hadn't really thought too much about anything. Even if she had, like Haruka she knew very little of Mamoru other than what she'd experienced.

"I thought the room was a cruel joke too." Michiru said, standing and crossing to stand next to Haruka. "Though none of your things were here when I first came." She peeked into the closet and smiled at the usual disarray. "The planet even provided our Mugen fuku. At least, mine's in my closet. I'm surprised you can find anything in there."

Haruka had an idea of what might have happened. She knew how Michiru tended to react when out of sorts, and she knew the shock of being pulled to the Planet. How much worse was it for Michiru, who had been pulled here on the verge of reviving? And then to see a familiar face, only to have it be not so familiar? "We'll have to find him again and figure out what exactly we all know. We should stick together." It was understood that the Prince of the Earth required their protection as much as the Princess of the Moon did, if not more so. What were his powers anyway? He could help heal the wounded, he could distract enemies with roses, and he was halfway decent at swordsmanship, as long as the sword in question was a cane. Sailor Moon was more effective in battle than Tuxedo Kamen.

"Mine's in here too," she said. She looked around her closet again. "It's not that bad," she said in mock annoyance. "It's actually more organized here than it is at home. You must have more influence with whatever brought us here, since it's catering to your tidiness levels." She smiled and wrapped an arm around Michiru's shoulders. She'd missed feeling so... it wasn't exactly light-hearted, but it was something. So...complete. So much like herself.

Michiru snaked her arm around Haruka's waist and kissed the taller girl on the cheek. It was a simple little kiss, but like so many things, it promised much more.

"Maa, you say that like it's a bad thing. Clothes should be taken care of, not strewn all over the floor" Well, most of the time at least. She leaned into Haruka and gave a contented sigh. She almost felt at home.

Haruka's eyes slid closed at the contact of lips to skin. Even though it was a simple kiss, she hadn't felt it in a month, and it felt very, very good. She turned her head and let her lips brush across Michiru's lightly, smiling as she pulled away.

"I do take care of them," she said, planting another light kiss on Michiru's nose. "Most of the time." There were sometimes far more important things to do than hang up a few shirts. Well, there were always more important things to do than hang up a few shirts. Like play with Hotaru, or wax one of the cars. As Michiru sighed, Haruka wrapped her arms around her lover. She felt more like her old self the longer she spent in Michiru's company.

"You're hopeless, you know that" Michiru said, closing her eyes in contentment. She could stay like this forever. But there were still nagging questions that needed to be answered, so she reluctantly pulled away and returned to sitting on the bed.

"So tell me what happened" she said, in a far more serious tone. "After I was taken." Haruka had mentioned Hotaru and Setsuna, so they must have been revived, but had they forgiven her and Haruka? They'd done what they had with the best of intentions, but Michiru could understand if there was still bitterness.

Haruka's response to being called hopeless was to tighten her embrace on Michiru. It was a common critique, if one could call it a critique. There was no correct answer, so Haruka had learned not to give one. She let Michiru pull away, however, but elected to lean against the wall rather than take a seat.

Her expression darkened at Michiru's request. Where in the world to start? "Everyone was revived," she began after taking a deep breath. "Everyone but you. All the Inner Senshi, Mamoru, Hotaru and Setsuna, even Kakyuu. We couldn't understand how the ginzuishou worked for everyone but you." She felt tears rising, but again held them back. She'd cried far too much during the past month to start up again now.

"Usagi was crushed. She felt like she'd failed you." She shook her head. "I wish there were a way to tell her we were safe, even if we can't leave here. If she could know she hadn't failed, it would help her so much." At least Usagi had had Mamoru to help her through the loss.

"Hotaru and Setsuna...we spoke, after a week or two. Everything's fine." Nevermind that the reason they hadn't spoken for a week was that Haruka wouldn't talk to *anyone* during that week, except to express thanks for the meals which Hotaru had brought to her room every night. She hadn't left her room for that first week. She wasn't entirely sure everything was "fine," but Hotaru and Setsuna had insisted that it not be mentioned again after the one conversation they did have concerning it, and the house had gone back to normal, more or less, after that. Hotaru was more clingy than normal, perhaps, but how much of that was trying to cheer Haruka up, she didn't know.

Michiru felt a wave of guilt break over her. She hadn't even considered how her disappearance would affect Usagi. As silly as the younger girl was most of the time, she had such a sweet heart. Of course she would have considered it her fault that Michiru hadn't come back.

"Poor Usagi" she said softly.

She looked down at her hands running her thumb over her palm. "I wish I could - we could - contact them" she said, though it was unclear if she meant just Hotaru and Setsuna or if she meant everyone. Too many loose ends. She looked up at Haruka again and forced a small smile. "I'm sorry, I'm getting maudlin."

"I think you're allowed to in cases like this," Haruka said. She walked over to the bed and sat down beside Michiru, pulling the other woman into an embrace. She held her tightly, half afraid that if she let go, Michiru would disappear again.

"Is there any way to do that?" she wondered, her thoughts returning to the idea of contacting people. "I know we can't leave, but is there anything in the rules against sending a message to those we left behind? We have our communicators, and you have the Aqua Mirror. Surely there's some way we can get a message to Usagi and the others that we're at least all right."

But it wasn't Usagi that was Haruka's main concern. Hotaru would be worried sick, and she had no clue how the younger girl would react to her Haruka-papa just up and disappearing on them. Would they fear the worst? Would they assume the worst? It was more of a burden than she wanted for Hotaru. Even if they couldn't go home, they should be allowed to tell people not to worry about them.

Michiru let herself be pulled into the embrace. Though she'd never admit it, she needed the physical comfort.

"I tried using the mirror to find you when I first got here" she said. "It just gave me my reflection."

She pulled away slightly and looked out into space for a moment. "This planet doesn't seem to care too much about who we might have left behind." She turned back to Haruka. "But at least we have each other now, right?"

The mirror hadn't worked? It had never failed before. At least she could still access the mirror on this planet. The thought briefly crossed Haruka's mind that their talismans might not work here at all, but that had to be ridiculous. Best not to panic over mights and might nots. She hoped she wouldn't have to find out, though.

She leant closer to Michiru, resting her head on top of Michiru's soft green curls. "Then this planet is more idiotic than it realizes," she said. "With so many people here, most of whom have left someone behind, it's only a matter of time before we all decide to try and find ways to contact the outside world, or leave. And we're not the only ones with powers here, Michiru. I met a young woman this morning with powers, albeit different ones from ours." And Rogue had mentioned another with powers as well. Surely there were still more besides? And none of them, if they considered themselves 'heroes' as Rogue had said, would content to stay idle for very long.

Haruka looked down, meeting Michiru's gaze. "We do at that," she said, smiling softly. "And as long as we're together, we'll make everything else work."

Michiru gave a thin-lipped smile, one of determination rather than happiness.
"Indeed" she said, her voice hard. "We can still henshin, and if there are indeed others with powers, this planet can not keep us forever" Then she relaxed slightly and gave Haruka a true smile.

"Together" she said. "I like that." She let her hand drift up and tangle in Haruka's short hair as she pulled the other girl in for a kiss. "Always together" she said after she'd finally pulled away.
