Everything was going exactly as planned which is why David should have suspected something bad would happen. It was Murphy’s law, right? If anything can go wrong then it will and David’s luck was bound to run out at some point. His life was just going too well. Immortality, amazing powers, a gang of vampires to do his bidding and free reign of Santa Carla. The only thorn in his side was Michael but soon his blood would overwhelm the human’s and Michael would be one of them. Tonight was the end of the initiation as David and the boys led Michael to an isolated beach party full of surf punks. As they perched in the tree, David opened his mouth to tell Michael just that when the tree, the beach and his fellow vampires suddenly disappeared.

For a moment it felt as if David was simply free-falling through black space when he landed on cold, wet sand. He thought at first that he was back on the beach and that he might have just fell out of the tree but a quick look around told David that wasn’t right. For one thing there was no tree, no partying surfers and none of his vampires there to laugh at David for falling. Second, there had been a drastic change in the weather. Gone was the peaceful moon lit night, only to be replaced with howling winds and flickering lightning bolts. “What’s going on here?” he muttered, the vampire’s voice lost to the wind. He climbed to his feet and staggered forward, wet sand clinging to his black jeans, gloves and duster.

Thanks to his heightened eyesight, it was easy for David to pick out the light of the resort through the rain and darkness. Common sense told him to head for the light. If anything, it would help him figure out where he was to but David had a strong suspicion that it wasn’t Santa Carla anymore. It didn’t smell like the resort town and there was no sign of the boardwalk from here. As he moved closer to the building, David could pick the smaller buildings along side of the larger, lit-up building as well as the white stucco walls. Where am I? On a tropical island?

Once he reached the main building, David circled around until her found a large, unlocked door. With hesitation, David barged in and slammed door shut behind him. It looked like a lobby to some fancy resort. “What the fuck is going on here?” he demanded in a low and dangerous tone.

"your room more then likely"He answered automatically with a shrug.He gestured for the other vampire to follow him, might as well get the tour guide stuff out of the way,he knew some of his kind hated company.

Edward didnt mind the barrage of questions in the least,having learned infanite patience from bella. "I dont know exactly, but their seem to be more people showing up every day or so,so it could be a while before this place fills up as for other vamps-"

He paused,thinking back to what ace had told him a few days ago,though he had yet to run into the said rumored other vampire"-I was told there was a few others here, but other then you I havnt seen hide nor hair of him,or her"He finished with a shrug.

He steeled himself as the wind and rain slapped at them, though the movement was hardly necessary,the rain just bounced off him and the wind barley moved him "As for leaving?Theres a few people here rumored to be trying to find a way off this rock, but so far i dont think they have"

I just hope those other vampires aren’t bleeding hearts, David thought dispassionately as he idly looked around at the lobby before he followed after Edward. He was not looking forward to going out into the harsh weather again but David pushed his distaste aside. A little bit of rain and wind was not going to hurt him. The prospects of leaving Mirage did not sound good from what Edward was telling him, which only added to David increasingly sour mood. If David had any luck, perhaps the rumor about another vampire would prove true and if he was really, really lucky it would one of his boys that was the other vampire.

It didn’t take the two vampires long to reach Unit B and David eyed the white stucco building suspiciously. Looks like an ordinary building. Too ordinary, David added as they entered. He suddenly missed the cave back in Santa Carla. A parent’s nightmare, the cave was a horrible disorganized mesh of old antique furniture, stolen goods, and stuff found on the beach with a ton of fabric, posters and empty liquor bottles strewn about, most with candles sticking out of them. It was a far cry from the neat and orderly hallway David now found himself in. Without another word, David started sizing up the doors and tracking down 150. “Rather tight quarters”, he noted outloud and silently wondered how small the room was it.

It didn’t really matter though, David could sleep in closet so long as he was out of the sun but nothing could have prepared him for what he saw when he finally tracked down the room. David opened the door expecting to see an average motel room and at first that was what David did see but just as his lip curled in disgust, the room began to change. David jumped back as the room transformed before his very eyes to smaller replica of the cave in Santa Carla. It wasn’t exactly the same which David noticed in the back of his mind but the similarity caused concern. Someone or something had to have been reading David’s mind in order to know that this was what David wanted the most.

“What the hell is this? How is this possible?” he said accusingly to Edward, as though the vampire beside him was responsible.

Edward didnt meet davids eyes the entire way to the other building,half tempted to tell him that he wasnt a bleeding heart, but he didnt want to upset the vamp anymore then he already was.Though most vamps tended not to care if you had an extra power or two,espically the ones that had a few themselves,but those that didnt tended to be overly jealous,and even hold grudges.

He glanced up at the comment and grinned knowningly "yeah,but their bigger then they look trust me"He muttered as the david swing the door open, edward craned his head to catch a glimpse of the room and frowned slightly at the 'decartion'.A cave?who lived in a cave?maybe his sire was some sort anti-social vampire or something?he thought to himself.

He thought about asking just that when he was suddenly bombared with questions.Edward took a step back,holding his hands up as if he surrendered "Dont look at me, its this planet thing, it changed your room to whatever you want it to look like the most."He explained, rubbing the back of his of head nervously. "Mine looks like my room at home, and im sure the other inhabits are the same way"He added almost thoughtfully.
