Who: Lois Lane and Clark Kent
What: Lois reunites with a friend from home.
Where: Her room at first then the Coffee Bar/Cafe
When: Afternoon; Day 9
Rating: PG; Subject to Change
Status: In Progress

The Planet graced each guest with something special. Something that they can hold onto from what they left behind. And that was the power to make your room look like anything you could imagine. When Lois would wake up every morning, it felt like she was waking up at her small apartment above the town coffee shop called The Talon. It was the only thing she had left to remember. Every little detail, every dish, every furniture, was all in place.. exactly how it would be if she came back to the real thing. Even though it replicates her home, there was something about the place that made her feel... empty. She was alone.

The determined brunette did spend the last few days finding ways to go back, she even did countless research about the planet. As of right now she knew where everything was, she knew that the resort can change dramatically as well. Lois was beginning to adapt.

Right now, Lois was sitting on her sofa.. her wavy chestnut locks were nicely curled and spilled perfectly down her back.. she wore an aqua coloured teeshirt with a pair of dark denim bootcut jeans.. She was seen holding a framed picture of her and her cousin, Chloe Sullivan.. celebrating a birthday together. She smiled as that moment from the picture was coming to mind. Oh they had a blast. She also remembered how she almost lost Chloe.. and that weakened her smile.. "I am not.. going to lose you again." She said outloud with each word very direct. Her eyes started to water.. but Lois chose to fight her emotions. Lois then realized something.. what if she wasn't the only one who was brought here from Kansas? What if Chloe was wondering around the building right now was we speak? Or Clark for that matter? It was possible.. and the only way to find out was to not be couped up in her apartment. She sprung from her sofa and set the picture back on the end table.

The future star reporter grabbed one her jackets, this one being a women's trench coat due to the crazy weather.. then decided leave her apartment and face the new world again from her old one. Lois felt extremely coffee deprived. It was certainly a substitute from her other habit, which was smoking. And she was not about to ruin all of her hard work-- because she ran out of cigarettes. Lois could easily get some more, but coffee was easier. She left her room building and quickly faced the rain and wind to walk over to the next building which held the Coffee bar and internet room as well as the sitting room. Pushing the doors open knowing well her hair was dampened and tattered from the weather.. but she did not care. She instantly sat herself up at the counter and removed her coat.

"Espresso, pronto." She said quickly towards the stone golem on the other side of the counter. And it was quick.. there was a small glass of espresso sitting infront of her in the next 30 seconds. She picked up the small cup and knocked it back despite how hot it was. It burned her throat and she probably shouldn't have done that. After she swallowed it down she released a nice

"Whoo!--Hold on there Stoney, I need a grande regular with cream and sugar." The stone golem did what it was told and delivered her beverage. Caffeine was like fuel to Lois.. it made her focus more, think straighter, and certainly more alert. Lois decided to take this one a littler slower this time.. holding the hot beverage to lips.. her hazel eyes sort of looking around.. the place was a little busier due to the chaos outdoors. Hoping to see a familiar blonde, or a confused farm boy..

Two nights. It'd already been two nights, Clark realized as he slowly yawned, the shimmering fabric of his bed shifting to reveal his muscles as he stretched and finally sat upright, bare from the chest up. Turning to one side then another he slowly stretched his muscles, barely aware that to really stretch them he was likely putting enough strain on them to compact a small sized SUV. Next to him was a steaming plate of food, which he knew from last morning would likely taste exactly like his mother's home cooking, as if she herself had left it for him in his room. It made him slightly nostalgic to eat it, but on the other hand he was ravenously hungry from all the riding Katara and he did the previous day.

Breakfast finished, the Man of Steel pulled himself out of bed finally and walked to where he could take a shower, or what passed for one. Clark wasn't overly fond of the time it took to shower properly, especially as he couldn't really do it at super speed the way he could do everything else. Here though, there was some sort of sonic device that passed as a shower, and left him feeling cleaner, though he had no idea what it was. As he stepped in it began to pulse and hum and then suddenly a few seconds later he was done, smelling rather fresh, his hair devoid of any dirt. He could only guess it would fry a normal human to get in and that was somehow part of the point, but for a quick morning shower, it was worth it.

Of course, it wasn't exactly like he had somewhere to go, someone to see. He could run around this place as sure as anything, look for a way out. A part of him wanted to test the desert to see if he could find a portal somewhere. The sheer amount of ground he would have to cover would be enormous though. Searching Smallville took it's sweet time to actually get done, searching an entire world... Clark couldn't even imagine. And then there were those golem things that were lumbering about. If one of those caught him and it came down to a fight... hmm. He should have asked Katara yesterday if she knew a way to beat them.... then again, him fighting one itself might have tipped her off to the fact that he was super human.

But maybe... maybe he was being a little too cautious with that anyway. Why not reveal to everyone here that he was a Kryptonian rather than boring old Clark Kent? If they never got off of this place, wouldn't it be better that they knew him for who he really was? It's not like half of them would wind up on his planet anyway, and if they did, even if they outed him, it'd be hard to believe... especially if they had super powers themselves. That was it, he was going to find Katara today and tell her the truth about him, actually fess up to being something more than human...

But as he stepped out he realized he had no idea where Katara was exactly in this resort. He knew his room number, but where was Katara's? He couldn't exactly go knocking on doors to ask for directions... hmm.

Wandering out of the building Clark suddenly realized that he'd worn inappropriate attire for the weather today which was looking a little on the side of hurricane. His black hair whipped by the gale that threatened to nearly tear him off of his feet, he slowly fought his way into the first building he saw. By that point he was dripping from head to toe, looking rather like a soaked rat with his hair in his face, though the wet t-shirt which grabbed his pecs wasn't exactly uninviting.

It was a nice little coffee shop, just what he might have expected from this place. Plenty of seating albeit empty, a golem serving coffee, Lois looking annoyed at a table as he passed by, and on the other side there was another exit to the out-

Clark Kent stopped for a minute, turning around he saw Lois, sitting there drinking coffee, as merrily as could be, as if she were in the Talon from back home. His jaw dropped a little as he stared at her.

"LOIS?"

For some reason he couldn't exactly explain, it didn't surprise Clark Kent in the slightest that Lois was here. If there was a way at all in the universe to get into trouble, Lois Lane would surely find it. However, it did give him one small hope, that he'd never admit to her or anyone else... maybe Lana was actually here as well.

Lois did take a drink of her second beverage.. as just about to swallow it down until she heard a very familiar voice call out her name.. With an uncontrolled impulse, she spat out that coffee and it went all over the counter.. If the farmboy was a little closer, she may have gotten it all over him.. she wiped her hand over her mouth to catch some of that coffee.. even coughed a little..

"Clark?!" It was very rare that Lois would call Clark by his name and that was only during serious matters.. when it wasn't.. her usual name for him was Smallville. She quickly stood from her stool and walked towards him looking at him to make sure he was real before she reached up for a hug..

"Oh my god. It's actually you. You're here too." She really couldn't believe it.. it gave her hope.. Hope that she will even see more of her friends and family. She stepped back.. "I have not the slightest clue how I got here. Do you know how you got here? It's like I stumbled in on a dimented version of Wizard of Oz and Twilight Zone." She tried not to let her eyes water but it hard and those hazel eyes were glossening.. still could not believe she was looking at Clark. She imagined seeing Clark or Chloe or even her Dad or sister.. but this time it was real.

"You have no idea how glad I am to see you here, Smallville." She willingly admitted. Despite how they can drive eachother crazy and find eachother very annoying at times.. He was always a friend to her. She brushed her hand over his shoulder.. Noticing he was wearing his usual flannel plaid attired..

"I still see you think Plaid is the new Black." She said jokingly.. trying to lighten the mood up.. after all that was Lois.. and she couldn't resist commenting something to him.

Despite his hope, Clark had, upon seeing Lois at first, been afraid that she was somehow an illusion, and then suddenly would vanish as he said her name, leaving him to stand there looking silly in front of an empty coffee bar. As she spit out her coffee however, Clark's eyes widened slightly, knowing that it was indeed the Lois that he knew. Either that or the planet was getting especially good at coming up with realistic representations of the people he'd had in his life. Then again, if it was just reading his mind he expected Lana more than he expected Lois.

"Uh..." Clark started as Lois suddenly hugged him, his eyes widening slightly. Clark and Lois were friends when it came down to it, but on the average day they weren't exactly the touchy-feely-huggy type friends. In fact, Clark had spent more time trading insults with Lois than he'd spent learning about her life, now that he thought about it. Not that she'd not hugged him before... or peeped at him in the shower... or when he'd been possessed by Kal-El... but getting overly close to Lois felt sort of like snuggling up to your sister... no, scratch that, worse. "Hi Lois..." he said after a long moment.

Before he could get a word in edgewise Lois began talking at super speed, a talent which Clark pondered might actually be her meteor rock induced power. He opened his mouth to reply but as she kept going on thought better about it, waiting for her to take a breath before he paused, and narrowed his blue eyes as he looked into hers, watching how glossy they were starting to get. This had to be some sort of cosmic joke... but as Lois went on he forgot about it for a moment. He had to grudgingly admit, as much as he hated it, it was good to see Lois.

"I sort of..." Clark looked away for a moment as he thought up the appropriate white lie to bestow upon Lois to avoid telling her about hurtling in from the Planet's atmosphere, "was walking near the caves and slipped and fell... next thing I knew I was here..." he said, looking around for a moment, reaching up to scratch the back of his head even though it was slightly soaked from the worsening storm outside. "I looked around for anyone I knew yesterday and didn't see you... but I get the feeling you've been here longer than I have..."

He sighed a little as Lois decided to give him crap about his fashion sense, something that she loved to do on a regular basis. He'd thought it was kind of odd that it didn't come sooner, but hearing Lois giving him crap assured him that either this was really Lois or somehow it'd managed to copy her perfectly from his home world. Lois was the sort of person that boggled his mind so often that he couldn't imagine a fake version of her would actually live up to the bizarre nature of the original. Though as she sniped at him he felt the urge to reply in kind, and remembered that there was still a fine sheen of tears over her eyes at seeing him.

"Wait, are you crying??" Clark said, with a small satisfied smirk that he knew would be sure to get Lois' blood boiling just a little.

Lois listened to his story of how he got here and raised a thin brow.. "That's..strange. But then again, when is that little town not strange? Ya get what I'm saying here? Eversince I set foot in Smallville, it's been one weird thing to the next. So I am just going to stick to that theory. Now if I can just explain how I can walk into the Daily Planet and walk out in some strange desert on an uncharted Planet."

Lois was very well known for her constant talking.. She really has not seen anyone she knew in so long, so she had a lot to talk about. And she would do whatever it takes to avoid an uncomfortable silence. "Yeah I've been here for a while. Mostly been in my room figuring this whole place out. Of course when I decide to take a breather, I see you standing here."

Lois' eyes widened when she heard him notice her eyes were watering.. She then took a cheap punch to his shoulder oblivious that it wouldn't hurt him at all and her eyes narrowed a little..

"Encase you didn't realize, Smallville.. Underneath my collected and strong exterior I just so happen to have this thing called feelings too. And I wasn't crying. I think I got some that dusty dirt in my eye from your shirt. We're not even home and you still smell like the farm." Lois wasn't trying to make any sense.. she was really explaining why she gave him a hug.. and she needed a chance to burn him a few times as well. Lois forgot for a minute there of why she never showed any affection to this tall rancher, now that he's there, now it's all coming back to her.

"So. How long have you been here? Me? Five days. Feels like a Month.." Lois was also known to quickly change her subjects.. And bounce back to the other.

Clark sighed as Lois talked about how strange his hometown was. He always did it, with seeming disbelief. He even rolled his eyes a little bit. All of it was an act, of course, somewhere deep inside there was a sense of dread that one day Lois would reveal his secret and then would blackmail him constantly to do stupid things for her. He could just see her asking sweetly 'Smallville, I like left my car in a tow zone, could you speed down to it, lift it up and carry it to a better parking spot for me? I'd hate for anyone to find out about your seeeecret!'

"Have you ever thought that maybe you're the weird one? My life was certainly a lot more normal before you showed up..." Not that it was true. In fact Lois had found him butt naked in a field that was slightly on fire from his Father's 'Influence' and 'training'. Not that she knew any of that, or thought that it was more than him hitting his head and getting in some sort of weird car accident or something.

Clark pulled ever so slightly away so that Lois didn't hurt her fist as she got in the cheap shot and grabbed his arm as if she'd hurt him, sucking in air. He'd learned to be rather good about faking injuries over the years. "Ow! Yeah, I can really tell you've got tons of 'deep' emotions..." Clark said, rubbing his arm, then paused there. "Wait, are you trying to say you have feelings for me?" He said, making it sound somewhat serious as he took a step out of Lois' immediate punching reach, knowing that if anything that was going to earn him another slug in the arm if not worse. He held up his hands as if to call a truce, which was great as he'd gotten in the last jab. He didn't think Lois would accept.

"I got here the night before last..." Clark said. "Woke up outside of the front gates. Doesn't look like there's anything outside of this place for miles and miles..." Slowly he looked around, and did what Chloe had dubbed the 'Clark Kent stare'. Of course she didn't know he was actually using his X-ray vision to stare through the buildings. It all seemed normal enough, except the rooms themselves, which were either lined with lead or the Planet itself kept him from seeing into. Well, that might mean that his room was well protected... he just hoped Lois didn't ask to go back to it or he'd have to change things around before she got there.

"Have you met this 'Planet'? I talked to someone yesterday who thought that it was actually the real planet beneath our feet..." he said, pausing to think and look down, as if the Planet might suddenly manifest a face and say something of interest.

Lois couldn't help but release a harsh breath.. and form an arrogant smirk upon her face once she heard him dare to say that she was the weird one? Clark should know by now that arguing with Lois Lane.. will not end. She will have the last say always. No matter what.

"Hold on there, Cowboy. Let's not forget that little fiasco in the corn fields. My first time ever in Smallville and I stumble in on Clark and Clark Junior. Now something tells me I shouldn't know what you were doing in the middle of a cornfield in your birthday suit. Initiation gone bad? So you tell me again who the weird one is. Come on let's hear it."

When Lois throws her cheap punches at this tall farm boy.. she really does it for fun and games. No real hateful intention to harm him. But it was cute that he said 'Ow'.. She was really about to throw another one if he keeps talking the way is. Especially when he questioned if she has feelings for him.

"Wishful thinking there, Smallville? Get a reality check for once.." She shook her head.. while she continued to listen to him answer her other question..

"So... since you've just got here, did you ever like wonder where I went? How's Chloe since, you know.. last seen her?" Lois was asking as if she has been gone for a month, when it really was just five days. But still werent they the least bit curious as to how she vanished? Not that Lois would be angry if they didn't.. I mean Lois was a busy gal, and she did run off time to time to complete a story. Just like the time she followed Lex Luthor to Detroit. Lois walked back towards the counter to get her coffee mug then back to Clark. Taking another sip or two to calm her down again.

Clark's eyes widened as she immediately brought up the fact that she'd seen him naked, in a corn field, no less. For a brief moment he thought that Lois might be finally putting two and two together about the corn field and start asking questions, but it was really just another way to ruffle his feathers, which meant though Clark was annoyed he wasn't about to have his face plastered all over the front of the Daily Planet, which was exactly what Lois would do if she managed to find out that he was really an alien from another world who moonlighted as a super hero. Of all of the people he could tell, Lois would be the last one. Still...

"Hey wait, didn't you nearly climb in the shower with me like the next week? I guess you must have liked what you saw..." Clark said with a smirk. "And speaking of fields, wasn't it you who had a father who chased us both down with a military helicopter? I'm just saying, Lois, things got a lot weirder when you came into my life..." Clark said, crossing his arms slowly.

"Yeah, wishful thinking, because I walk in on you in the shower all the time..." Clark muttered, half under his breath, but definately loud enough that Lois would hear. Though he'd never admit it to himself he felt for the first time a real sense of normalcy in this crazy place, a feeling that there was, at least a part of him that was back at home. Not that he'd ever admit that to Lois, god only knew how she would gloat about it.

At her statement as if she'd been gone for a year. "You've been gone less than a week, Lois..." Clark said with a bit of exasperation. Lois seemed to think that the whole world stopped the very moment she wasn't there. Clark thought that the world changed when Lois wasn't around too, usually for the better. "Though, now that I think about it, it'd been unusually peaceful the last week, no loud angry beast women charging into my room, waking me up, eating my food. I did think the last week had been rather nice, but I couldn't place why... now I know!"

Clark just smirked. If Lois was planning on getting the last word, she was definitely going to have to work for it.

Lois shook her head with a smile of pity before she took a sip of her coffee.. "Exaggerate much? I roomed with ten men when I traveled with the general in the army. We shared the same bathroom time to time. It was a normal thing for me. Sorry that you got the wrong idea." She patted his shoulder.. Ten minutes of seeing him and they were already arguing. And in the middle of the coffee shop for that matter. She was surprised people weren't staring.

"As for the Helicopters, you'd expect something like that to happen when we investigate on private FBI property. Which we both agreed to trespass." Lois unfortunately already admitted to him that she was glad he was there. It truly did feel more like home with him around. And it certainly took an edge off her obsession for finding a way out. There really is no possibility.. They were officially stuck.

Lois reveals a petty look towards Clark when he said how peaceful it was without her around.. She walked back up to him. "And how ironic. You are now officially stuck here with me, the angry beast day in and day out. Well look at that, I win again." She said jokingly.. and repeating his harsh words back at him to make him look more of an ass than he really was. She placed her empty coffee mug into his hands.. and then walked past him towards the doors.. she was about to leave but the weather was atrocious... And there was no way she would even dare to withstand those harsh winds and rains..

"Looks like I'm stuck in here. With you."

Clark held up his hands at Lois' more than frank admission that she'd showered regularly with ten other guys, taking a step back and holding up his hands. "Waaaay too much information, as usual Lois, thanks..." Clark remembered now that while he was a virgin Lois was more than likely far more... 'experienced'. Come to think about it, he really had no idea what exactly Lois' past was like with old boyfriends and the like. She never seemed to want to talk about any of it, at least not to him. Not that he wanted to hear about it, the thought of hearing about Lois' exploits was barely above hearing his mom talking about her old boyfriends. It was certainly enough to inspire a shudder.

Clark opened his mouth to say something about Lois' father again, but she did have a point, they both had been trespassing on FBI territory. Clark narrowed his eyes in slight defeat as Lois went in for the killing blow, telling him about how he was stuck in this place with her. Which was more or less true, as far as Clark could see. There was no escaping, and now... now he'd have to keep a wrap on his powers, lest Lois somehow find out. He could only imagine how many people she would gossip to the very moment that she got home. All in all it was enough to make Clark take in a slow breath, and let out a heavy sigh.

"At least my room here has a lock on it..." he replied snarkily, but he was willing to give up on their little back and forth, for the time being. Of course when Lois mentioned the fact that there was now a storm raging outside, Clark looked out the windows and started slightly. She wasn't kidding, it was like the end of days outside, which maybe meant that there was a portal open somewhere? Perhaps Clark could indeed find a way out now... but if he did find a way out then he'd have to go back and get Lois... damned if she didn't make things quite a bit more complicated all in all.

"Looks like..." Clark said in a resigned tone, noting the speed at which a branch flew by. If he left now it'd raise a ton of questions he wasn't willing to answer. "So, I guess we try to make the best of it, huh?" he said, before turning to order a large hot chocolate from the golem. Stuck in a storm with Lois... it was going to be a looooooong day.

Lois took a slight roll to her eyes when she turned around to face him again.. and then walking back to the counter for another cup of coffee.. She looked back over towards him to make a remark back at him about his room.

"You forget, Smallville.. That I now I have a room of my own. If I also recall, I had one back at home. It's been a while since I stumbled in uninvited. And yet you seem to come by to my apartment uninvited too. Do I really have to bring up the time where I came out of the shower thinking somebody broke in my house?"

She took a seat back on her stool.. taking a sip of her third cup of coffee.. Lois wished she didn't bring that up.. they can really call themselves even now.. She saw him naked, and he saw her. So why does it still feel awkward? She couldn't really understand that one.

"I guess we'll just have to make some kinda best of it. So what does a farmboy do on a rainy day? They have the internet over there in the next room. Don't get too excited, I think it would be unwise to check out pornography in a public place." Lois? Well she sits in and watches various movies, eats chocolate icecream, and watches more.. romantic comedy films. But unfortunately she can't get back to her room to do her usual rainy day routine. She took another drink as she tried to find a way to amuse herself, aside from tossing a few wisecracks at Clark over there.

Clark sighed and didn't bring up the fact that he was actually trying to protect her. That would only add to her argument about weirdness happening to him, which, in all truth, it did. And that in itself started the long awkward silence of them sitting together in the same coffee shop. He'd seen enough of her to be embarassed, and vice versa, though Lois seemed unphased by the whole thing, which only made Clark more annoyed, and made the situation that much more awkward. Taking in a slow deep breath he contented himself to his hot chocolate, all the while eyeing the windows for the slightest chance that the wind might die down long enough to consider risking venturing out in it. Anything to get away from Lois for a while.

Then again, if Lois managed to stumble out into the hurricane he'd probably wind up having to drag her back. He didn't really want to risk that. Though, he didn't even bother to reply to Lois' pornography comment. It was a deliberate bait and she knew it, the same way she knew that he was too squeaky clean to actually do anything dirty like that. At least when he wasn't exposed to red krytponite, that was. Not that Lois knew anything about that except to think that now and again he just went mental.

"I doubt there's going to be any information that could help us get home... if the planet is supplying all of this for us, why provide any way to escape?" Clark said glumly, though he realized after having said it that Lois was probably just talking about surfing the web, the same way that she did at the Daily Bugle when she was pretending to work. Hell, Clark wondered if that wasn't how she spent most of her time at the Planet in between pieces that would be better off in the Inquisitor.

Pacing slightly Clark contented himself to look through the walls with his X-ray vision, trying to search for the slightest possibility that there was some way of escaping that he'd overlooked. It'd look to Lois as if he were just looking around, though he had to be careful, he knew Lois wasn't the sort to enjoy being bored for very long. He was just glad that they were in a public area or else she'd probably have tried to talk him into playing strip poker with her or something similarly embarassing. Taking another slow sip of his hot chocolate he dared to all but ignore Lois for the time being while he looked around, trying to find some way, any way to get them both out of there.

Lois stood back up from her stool sorta watching him look around.. and the typical expression of clueless and boredom was plastered on his face.. She couldn't help but finally tell him.. Lois had her talents. One was determination.. She spent most of her days researching every aspect of where she was. She knew the place like the back of her hand already. A very useful attribute for a reporter.

"You do realize.. There are more things to do in this building then sit in the coffee shop.. In fact, from what I researched; the majority of the activities are held in this one building. So what do you want to do, stare at walls all day? Or I can beat you to a game of basketball over in the gymnasium."

The rooms were held in a separate building. Which Lois can't really access herself to at the moment. Clark was right about one thing though, the planet is supplying everything for them.

"However, I can name one thing that this planet hasn't supplied, fully, well yet. And that is.. our friends and family." Lois stared at him directly, this time being serious.. "That's why I was glad to see you. It gave me hope." Lois walked past him and started to walk towards a door leading to a hall way. She was making her way towards that gymnasium. If Clark was smart enough to relieve himself a little boredom, he would follow too. Lois was also leaving the coffee place, perhaps maybe running into more familier faces. It happend with Clark, it could happen again. And she felt the need to become active again. She really couldn't go for a jog at this certain time and in this certain weather.

"I..." he was about to tell Lois that he could plainly see that there were other things to do but he was looking for a way out. But then that would sound rather silly. So after a long pause of what might have been righteous indignation, Clark simply finished it off with "... I've only been here a day, Lois, it's not like I had the time to explore every inch of the place... not without being able to move faster than a speeding bullet, anyway..." It usually helped to exaggerate about what he could do, make it seem all the more implausible to someone who was watching him. Mild mannered farm boys weren't exactly what you expected to have the powers of a demi god, after all.

"It wouldn't hurt to shoot a few hoops..." Clark said as he watched her walk away. Then again it might be his chance to escape. One good dash and he could be out the door and gone... but then Lois might go looking for him. In fact, given that she seemed rather lonely without anyone that she knew here, it was a fairly good bet that she would go out in whatever to try to find him if she thought he'd been crazy enough to brave it. If someone else had been in danger he would have gladly taken the excuse to leave, but things seemed rather uneventful from what he could tell, save for the storm outside.

Sighing he quickened his pace to catch up with Lois, walking with her towards the gymnasium, noting how big it was. This place seemed a bit more private than the coffee shop, and had Clark been with Katara he might have been a little tongue tied about the situation. With Lois though, it was sort of like being around a relative more than it was being around someone he was interested in. Sure, there'd been a few times when seeing Lois' body had impressed him, but personality mattered way more than looks, and Lois was unfortunately infuriating when it came to personality, so much so that he barely gave her body a second look.

And imagining he felt the same he didn't think twice about stripping off his shirt. It was still soaked to the bone, and he couldn't exactly dry it with heat vision with Lois watching, so he hung it from a bench instead. Giving Lois a rather fine showing of his muscular back as he set down the shirt, and then walked over to one of the racks that held basket balls, dribbling one a few times. Thinking about it, it might be good practice for him to play Lois... a chance to keep his powers in check and make sure that he wasn't showboating too much in a game. Physical sports were the hardest, because it meant having to not use any of the gifts that were available to him with a side thought.

"Seems like the best time for you to play me, anyway..." Clark said with a slight smirk, knowing it would get Lois' goat to hear him brag. "I mean, no one around to see you lose..."

Once they entered into the gymnasium, Lois pulled out a single hair tie from her pocket.. and gathered her chestnute wavy locks into a pony-tail.. If they were going to play sports, it was easier to have her hair up. She turned to notice that Clark took liberty into removing his shirt. Lois tried not to become too impressed by his well toned physique.. so she looked off then back to him.. then her eyes shifted away.. then back.. For god sakes she was only human. A female being who.. is well impressed by how well he can work out, so to speak. But she was too stubborn to admit it.

"So looks like you chose to play a little shirts and skins. Showing off isn't very attractive either." Lois walked over towards him casually.. and quickly snatching the ball when he dropped it down to dribble it. She then dashed away while dribbling and tossed the ball to the nearest basket. Luckily making it in. She caught it and started to dribble casually facing back towards him..

"Oh my-- just what I suspected would happen. And don't go easy on me just because I'm a girl, Smallville.. It's almost insulting." Lois flashed him an arrogant smirk.. She knew the guy had a basketball net on his farm. She knew he was an athlete. She also loved being able to catch that ball from him too. Lois on the other hand. Being an army-kid certainly made her more stronger, independant, and ability to what the boys can do on a very similar level. She wasn't so much as masculine.. but tough.

Clark caught her spying on him out of the corner of his eye, but he brushed it off as her sizing him up more than anything else. After all, this was Lois, it wasn't as if she was really checking him out, which was why giving her crap about it was so much fun. Because it couldn't be real, right? Besides, for all of the fact that Clark was the meaty sort of hunk that could adorn several teen dream magazines, he'd never seen himself as anything special in the looks department. Lana hadn't been drooling all over him, in fact most of the girls at school spent more time snickering at him than asking him out or even wanting to be asked out by him. Sure there were a few girls who were interested in him, but... not anyone amazing like Lana.

Clark just sighed and put his hands on his hips as Lois stole the ball from him, watching her bounce off to the nearest basket and take a shot with it. Sighing he walked up as the ball was in the air, noting the way that Lois turned around to gloat, tilting his head as he looked at her as if to say 'are you serious?'. "Don't worry Lois, I won't play easy on you just cause you're a girl..." he said, and then suddenly his hand shot out and snatched the basket ball from her, stepping to the side to toss the ball into the air and make a basket from where they were standing.

Then, with a slightly cock swagger, he took a step closer to Lois, almost uncomfortably close, getting in her face. He saw it as an adversarial move, and most likely Lois would as well. Then again, all of those muscles she'd been looking at were now but an inch or two away from her body, and she'd be able to feel the heat radiating off of him like window glass on a hot summer's day. Clark leaned in even further then, pausing to open his mouth for a moment as if considering what to say, then softly whispering to her.

"I'm going to go easy on you because I'm better than you." The gauntlet thrown down Clark got ready for Lois to snatch the ball and go for the basket this time, his muscles starting to ripple along his frame as they tensed one after another, an almost predatory look in his eye. Not the sort of look one expected from a usually clueless farm boy...

Lois did another one of her famous rolls to her eyes.. when she heard him say he'd go easy on her cause he was better. "Oh Please. I'm always up for a challenge." Lois was completely shocked that he did take the ball from her.. and then making a shot.. She looked up and shook her head.. "Lucky Shot.. But don't press it too hard, Smallville."

Lois caught the ball then dribbled.. eyeing this guy closely and watching his hands.. his movements.. everything. She quickly made her way past him.. knowing he was going easy on him so she took a shove towards him at the shoulder.. but the impact was impossible for her to make him budge and she fell back instead. Dropping the ball.. not expecting that one to happen. It felt like she ran into refrigerator.. it just wouldn't move! She embarrasingly ended up on her ass.. looking up at him with a jealous look.. but curved a smile in the corner of her mouth.. "I guess the farmer's been eating his own vegitables?"

Clark just smirked as Lois talked her big game. He imagined that he'd let her win this one. It'd probably do wonders for her ego, and even though she'd more than likely go on and on and on about it until the end of days it was better than having to deal with her sulking. He didn't exactly know what it entailed, but usually she'd drag Chloe off to watch girl movies or whatnot, and given that he was the only thing resembling a friend in this world he had a secret fear that Lois wasn't going to take 'no' for an answer if she decided he would do for a surrogate 'girlfriend'. Heaven forbid.

Unfortunately, Clark had been entirely too lost in his thoughts when Lois came at him, and though he'd been expecting her to run past him he didn't expect the body check, and thus didn't have enough time to feign falling over before she rebounded off of him as if he were a brick wall. He did have enough reaction time to catch her though, so even though she went down she would find it didn't hurt nearly as much as it should have, Clark kneeling down beside her, having only caught her a few inches from the ground.

His body felt just as warm as the aura around it had, and if Lois appreciated the view, it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine the bare muscles wrapped around her would be enough to inspire a reaction of some sort. Clark, for his part, had a slightly bewildered look on his face, reminding her, if she cared to think of it, that he was at heart a clueless farmboy who wouldn't try to make a move like this on a girl if his life had depended on it. And he paused for entirely too long there before he lightly set her down and began to slide his arms from her, a light blush on his face.

"Er... sorry. I should have been more careful..." he said, his 'I'm going to whoop you' act now dissolved into a mass of embarassment.

Lois did not expect that one to happen either.. He actually caught her. Despite the way she would trash talk towards him.. even burn him several times. He took a swift initiative to free her from an embarrasing fall and catch her. It made her think of all the times in the past.. where he always seem to be there to catch her. Wow. He has saved her ass quite a few times. Thinking about the time she almost drowned in some strange sewer.. he found her. The time where she electricuted herself in her apartment.. Wow. Lois is realizing maybe she really should go easy on this guy. But it is just so much fun. And when he heard her apologize she just shook her head..

"Don't worry about it.. I can take it. You warned me--sorta. It's not like I've never been man-handled before.--Okay that uh came out wrong." Lois tried not to be.. impressed by his perfectly toned.. moist.. exposed body. She was a girl for goodness sake. Standing herself back upright.. with the ball in her hands.. then tossing it over to him.

"Your ball, Smallville. And uhh-- thanks for catching me." She softly muttered..that last remark.. Why was it so hard to thank him? Who knows.. that's what you get for being stubborn.. Lois circled him.. and got once more in a player's stance.. "Time's a runnin' out, Smallville.. What's the score again?" She said trying to change the subject.. being very extremely good at trying to escape from an awkward situation.

"And put your shirt back on for God's sakes. I'm distracted enough already." Lois couldn't help but say it..

Clark tried to shake off the fact that Lois' body had felt very warm next to his, that the feeling of her warmth still radiated against his frame as she and he sort of shared the awkward silence and then her getting up on her feet. He didn't exactly meet her eye as she tried to explain away the fact that she'd asked him not to go easy on her, and sort of blushed in a way that she might have found cuter if she wasn't the cynical type who didn't believe that farm boys as naieve as Clark still existed. Yet there he was, looking as ashamed as if he'd torn her clothes off. He caught the ball, and blinked as she mentioned the score, not even having a comment in retort to her 'man handled' statement.

"Uh sorry..." he apologized again and slipped on his shirt. It was still wet, and thus hung from his muscles and frame a little too tightly. It wasn't much better than seeing him bare chested, but maybe a little. "It's uh, 2 up..." he said, shaking his head slowly, remembering that he was going to throw the game for Lois. Still, right now the two of them were a bit tongue tied, and him being weak in the game would only make things worse.

Dribbling the ball once then he took a few steps to the outside, slowing down a little for a shot to the basket. Lois could stop it pretty easily with a jump if she was paying attention... Clark hope that she was, as somehow this whole thing had only gotten a whole lot more awkward. He made sure to take special note of where she was though, so that if she slammed into him again he could fake like she'd knocked him over.

Lois noticed a little change in his behavior.. it was frustrating the hell out of her. It was as if he turned into some kind of.. robot that continually says 'I'm Sorry'.. Which was very rare to hear that come out of Clark's mouth.. and at her for that matter.. Lois noticed his slow movements.. and snatched the ball.. But stopped moving.

"Whoa-whoa hold on. Since when do you suddenly do what I tell you?" She said while she gently tossed it up and catching it again.. Noticing that he abided by her command to put his shirt back on.. She really was shocked. "What is the matter with you? Why aren't you being yourself? Have you already forgotten? It's me.. Good lord, you're giving me the same look you always gave to Lana.."

When she said that out loud she took realization of what she said.. Always speaking before she thinks. Did.. Clark have a crush on her? Sure she felt the same awkwardness when he caught her.. But it was something that never really came to mind.. conciously.. There may have be a subconcious interest.. but Lois never knew that! She was too stubborn to even admit that he was charming sometimes. And heroic. She tossed the ball over her shoulder..

"You win." She said bluntly.. then turned around to walk away. If she stuck around any longer she may have said more than what she should have.

Clark smirked a little as Lana grabbed the ball and took a step forward to try to at least make it look like he was in the game when she stopped, and called him out. He looked rather confused as to what was going on, but stopped, as it was clear they were no longer playing a game. And then she started laying into him. Clark tried to get a word in edgewise, but when Lois got to talking it wasn't like you could just interrupt her. Maybe it was the 'general's parenting, or perhaps it was being an army brat for most of her life, but Lois wasn't one to be interrupted.

"I-" Clark tried to say that he'd been a bit uncomfortable too, but Lois wouldn't let him get a word in... before she said 'that'.

Looking akin to a fish that had somehow stumbled onto land, Clark's eyes bulged slightly as he tried to process what she had just said. She and Lana were complete opposites. Lana was nice, sweet, charming, the sort of lady who melted your heart every time that you looked at her. On the other hand Lois was rude, obnoxious, obscene, not lady like at all, and more than anything ANNOYING AS HELL. The very thought of Clark being attracted to the real life equivalent of the shrew from Shakespeare's 'Taming of the Shrew' was so outlandish he wanted to laugh...

But Lois was serious.

Clark opened his mouth and closed it, thinking of what to say, half snorting a little as if to say 'what is wrong with you?', but then suddenly Lois turned from him, admitting, of all things, defeat. Clark was stunned. Staring at her back he let her walk away a few steps, wondering what the feeling of a dagger being plunged into his chest was... and then it began to dawn on him. Maybe the idea of even being in a relationship with him was really that... awful. He'd thought since Alicia wanted him that maybe... maybe Lana would too. But Alicia was crazy and Lois... Lois was more independant, the way Lana wanted to be. Even if he told Lana the truth... would this be the eventual result?

And suddenly Clark felt the need to breath more than ever. With Lana having her back to him, suddenly she would feel a sudden gust of wind fly past her as Clark hightailed it out of there at super speed, causing her ponytail to whip around in her face for a moment. By the time she would think to turn around or wonder, Clark would be long gone into the storm that raged outside.
