Having the last laugh (Complete)
Who: The Joker([info]thekillerjoke) and ANYONE
What: Joker arrives to Mirage after stepping through a door and onto a beach. Obviously, the clown prince of crime is very confused... doesn't stop him from having a smile on his face.
Where: By the beach
When: Day 9, 1:58pm
Status: COMPLETE
Rating: PG, because the Joker is a tad bit crazy.

It was yet another victorious night for the Harlequin of Crime as another pair of victims fell to the Jokers powerful influence. Tonight was a night for celebration and he had all ready suited up in his 'Sunday' best. He had rummaged through his closet for his best purple suit, had combed those fine green hairs of his into a perfectly sheen style, polished those shoes of him(which had become encrusted with blood as of late) and of course, made his henchmen do the same. Their victim of the evening was one of the famous millionaires in Gotham.

"Oh how tragic it will be," the Joker said out loud to himself as he stood before an enormous mirror adjusting his tie and bringing a small can of cologne to his neck, "can't wait to see the sad looks on their face when they realize their pet bat won't be coming to join them."

A chilling laughter tore the silence of the room as a few of his henchmen began to laugh like some puppets. Joker eyes them all with his cunning look before spraying some 'cologne' on himself. There was a henchmen with red and white mask covering his face that got a clean whiff of the stuff and began to gag- after a few minutes of struggling on the floor it was only the Jokers laughter the continued to ring in the stern air.

"My, my, I guess I'm just that drop-dead gorgeous, ain't I boys? Clean this mess up."

At once, three men began to pull the corpse out of the room as the rest followed the Joker to the vans and vehicles parked outside their nifty hide out. About a block away in the old forgotten portion of Gotham stood a warehouse where- underneath the first floor, were his victims... surrounded by gas tanks and what not. Obviously, if Joker didn't make it in time to kill them himself, he was sure to enjoy the fireworks display if anyone tried to save them. Yes, he was a ruthless killer indeed.

But despite the hateful nature of his crimes, he always thought on the positive end. One dead millionaire gave way to the other poor fools littering the town, he was actually doing a public service. Of course, the moor rich people there were the more victims he'd have... it barely dawned on him that he should have been collecting their bones for safe keeping. A few minutes of driving led them to a halt and finally, with a cheerful and happy mood, he jumped out of the van and waltzed through two rusted double doors.

"Give us a second boys, we got an urgent topic discuss." He rose an arm to stop any of his goons from entering the building, they all moved back nervously watching as the Joker disappeared into the warehouse.

Useless untalented dimwits, he thought to himself as he pulled out a control from his pocket, you lend them a hand and they go for your foot. Having henchmen was a serious thing to Joker. His numbers had increased amazingly and he considered it a problem: the more men under your lead always meant someone was loosing their fear. He wanted to keep them on their toes after all so took the liberty of rigging each van (four in count) with a few C4 and dynamite. If they weren't killed by the explosion then they would learn their lesson and get a raise. It was that simple. Other then that, Joker preferred the solitary work. His entire being concentrated and bringing mayhem to Gotham and making the Batman tremble in his sleep. Even now as he walked through the bottom floor of the warehouse, he couldn't help but think of the only person who could ever prevent anything from happening...

Harley...

That demented nitwit was locked up in Arkham at the moment after 'romantically' placing herself in harms way to protect him. How touching...not. Oh how he disliked having her company(sometimes), how he wished someone would put her out of her misery(a shotgun would do nicely) so that she could get out of his hair. The Joker had no intentions of getting her out and was taking his moments of freedom to have fun.

Nearing the end of a rather dimly lit corridor, Joker began to hear the small sniffles and moans of a child- he was getting close. His hands indistinctly went into his pocket as he extracted a knife before taking a few more steps forward in a strut.

"Oh dear me, it's so dark in her, how ever will I get through this dump?" He cried making his voice as high pitched as possible, a shrill cry from somewhere down the hall echoed in response to his mock- the Joker began to laugh.

"You! What do you want!" A voice called out of the darkness as the Joker continued to move forward, lurking through the dark like an animal closing in to its pray. "If it's money you want I can-"

"Believe me kind sir when I say," Joker interrupted quickly finding a bit of an offense out of the mans words taking up the personage of an old English man, "but the only thing I'm here for is your heads."

A child cried, a wife moaned, the man stuttered trying to find words but nothing was any use. Joker moved his hand towards the wall making the knife of his scrape over the metal surface sending a chilling-churning sound through the air... as if his laugh was any better.

He was enjoying himself now, jumping here and there, prancing about before finally arriving at the doorway where the three victims were being kept. He could see them through the light from the window. The orange lights from outside came in and fell upon the red bandages covering their eyes and the white sheets tying their hands and ankles together. He moved forward and stared upon the three feeling no pity, no remorse... just a never-ending glee and excitement. Oh how amazing it was to take a life- especially with people of such a high 'standard'.

"Well, well." He said leaning against a barrel looking down at their pitiful state with the same thick mocking tone in his voice, "bet you didn't think you were gonna die this early in life did you?"

"Please..." the man cried lifting his blind-folded eyes up at his voice, "please, not my daughter and wife... please... I'll do-"

"But there's nothing you can do!" Joker laughed flying to his side and taking a firm hold of the mans neck, his knife inches from the mans cheek, "Especially since your daughters going first."

The wife screamed, the child went pale but Joker seemed unchanged. He really wasn't going to kill them- at least not with his bare hands. He liked to play with his victims- toy with them until he made them see just how useless they were. He moved over to the child and lifted her up placing her on a barrel before removing the blindfold from over her eyes- tears were all ready rushing down her cheeks.

"There, there, my dear. Look! I'll do a little magic trick if you stop crying." The child looked at the mans scarred face before looking down sobbing gently. Joker was not impressed. He didn't care what age group they were- the crowd always paid attention. "Fine." He said taking a hold of the girls chin and raising it up to him. "I'll show it to you anyway, voila!"

Behind him, a long drape fell from nowhere lighting up the room immediately. The room at once was filled with an ominous blue light as hundreds of barrels and fireworks became visible...blue light...hold on a sec...

"What in blazes name is that?"

Where a furnace room should have been visible there stood a rather dark sky and a windy beach. The window panes didn't shake or make a noise but by the waves were threatening the beach bank, the Joker could see that there was a very serious amount of rain and wind to make an islander nervous. He stood there perplexed as the child turned to look at him blankly, she wasn't crying anymore.

"Oh don't critique." He said shoving the child off the barrel as he made his way towards the window panes that took up the whole far wall of the room, "that wasn't the punchline."

What was this? Where was the rest of the building, why was there a beach in the middle of Gotham? His hands were on the pain and he felt them....cold...instead of hot like they were supposed to be. His eyes moved from the edge of the glass to where a door stood. With no hesitation what soever, he walked towards the door and pulled it open- at once, a gush of wind pulled him backwards making him fall beside the child who just starred at him blankly unsure f to laugh or cry some more. He glared at her.

"Oh buzz off."

He extended an arm towards her and touched her arm. At once, a bolt of electricity passed through the child and left her unconscious, he simply got back up and manned the door pulling himself through it. There wasn't any hard floor beneath him only sand. He turned to his
right.... he turned to his left...he was standing on a beach.

"Well, that's something you don't see everyday." He tried to cheer himself up beginning to walk backwards expecting himself to hit the door- but it never came... instead, the win kept pushing him violently backwards before finally falling on his tush starring around him. The door was gone, any signs of a factory were no longer visible and the pounding wind and drenching rain continued on. It was a new page in history: the day the Joker couldn't find a laugh in him.

Hatter beamed as the hat started working again, all the hands ticking away nicely. After which he put it back in its place atop his head, and looked back at the Joker, who hurrying to step in his path. He stopped, brows furrowed as his name was repeated, and suggested that some one else was going about with his name. "Taken my name? Well I never! I'll have him beheaded if he turns up here." He said, not pleased with that development. Hatter was not one to appreciate competition when it came to who he was, it was bad enough Alice suggested he was a creation of her mind, now someone was pretending to be him...

"Put what where?" Hatter glanced at the other's hand, shrugging slightly and shaking it. His eyes went wide and he cried out at the shock, pulling his hand away. Rubbing the palm of his hand, he looked back to the Joker. "That was sho~cking!" There was no anger across his features. Surprise and pain, yes, but it didn't stop him from taking the strange man's hand again (more carefully this time, mind) to look at the small device. Amazing! Such power in a tiny little thing, why hadn't he ever thought to create something like that?

"Marvelous!" A wide grin stretched across his lips and he shook the Joker's hand a second time, more pleased with the shock it then he was upset by the pain. He liked this new fellow. Electrocuting people typically wasn't the best way to make friends, but the Wonderland native was very different from most people. Joker had captured his attention, and they were two of a kind after all. His hat chimed, drawing him from these thoughts, and he decided once more that he was tired of standing in the rain. Especially now, when he was looking forward to going back in and trying to make himself something similar to the Joker's toy.

Hatter side stepped the Clown Prince and continued forward, still rubbing his hand. Eventually they reached the tablet, and he pointed to it casually. "Rock thing explains it. There are wretched stone men too, but they're not the talking sort." He explained, putting his umbrella down against the wall, and pulling open the door, waiting for his companion. "You'll likely have a key laying about inside too."

Joker was delighted, every time he tried this little trick no one ever laughed. Honestly, did he really have to kill someone to take a joke? Obviously not of the Hatter had laughed at it. They were two of a kind indeed, he saw good things in the future for this man.

"Oh no worries," he went on in concern to his immediate outburst at being compared to the hater, "you're nowhere near as entertaining as the hatter back home. Heck," he lifted his hands in surprise, "I would have killed you by now if you were that annoying prick!"

Indeed, the Mad Hatter at Gotham didn't exactly hold the sense of humor he did. Joker didn't exactly hold some type of friendship with him, he didn't even bother to help him. If he did something stupid and got in his way, Joker wouldn't stop in killing him that was for sure. But this Hatter, he was a nice guy!

"What the devil is going on here first of all, what is this place?" He looked down at the tablet and read away with curiosity dawning on his face. This was a rather peculiar thing,. a world...a planet... wanting to become populated? What exactly was it thinking? Surely, someone wasn't thinking straight when they chose him to...

But what was he talking about, he needed to return to Gotham after all- that was his home....not like it was any attachment or anything, it was just his base of operation. What good could he do in this world....unless.

"A key for me? A bit spooky someone has been expecting me. What does this place have to offer anyway?" He was annoyed now, he didn't like this one bit.
