Who: Felicia & Terry
What: Surfs Up, Arrival
When: Early Morning
Where: Beach, A building
Rating: PG
Status: Complete

The first night here had been enjoyable. As much as she would like to get home, she had no way of actually doing that on her own. She'd have to find help, find out how she'd been brought here in the first place. Until then, why not enjoy herself? Besides, there were worst places to be trapped. At least this one gave her nearly everything she wanted, including her kittens, one of which followed close on her heels as she strode out of the bedroom. Felicia grinned down at it and continued on her way, deciding to figure out what else this place offered.

Stepping outside, her brow furrowed together in mild confusion. She realized it had been dark when she arrived the night before, but it hadn't been a beach resort. That much she was sure of. Still, she shrugged it off and returned to the room. You'd hear no complaints from her. Felicia preferred the beach to some old ranch any day.

A day at the beach required a change of clothes though. Black and white bikini, a pair of flip-flops, a towel, and a surf board she'd found leaning against the wall by the door upon returning. She'd learned to surf a bit in L.A. because she'd never been the sort to just lay out in the sun, preferring to be up and moving. That and the guy who'd offered to teach her at the time was pretty cute.

Felicia grabbed a bagel for breakfast and had one of the golems pack her an old school bag lunch before heading down to the beach. She'd known a few surfers who would be out at the crack of dawn for the best waves, beaches free of tourists. She figured it was still early enough, clear morning sky, and not quite as hot as it would be later. She kicked her shoes off in the sand and set out the towel, making sure to put of plenty of sunblock before paddling out into the water. The first few waves were puny, but afforded her the chance to get in some practice before trying for anything bigger.

"Fine. Batman then." She grinned but nodded slightly. As for his obvious disbelief, she more then understood. She'd felt the same way just yesterday. Was still a bit skeptical, in fact, but she wasn't one to worry. Sure she'd like to get back, but really -- there wasn't much of a rush. Felicia been on her way to help Spiderman, but he could take care of himself, and other then that she didn't have anyone to really rush back too. This Batman character was taking it pretty well too. Granted, Felicia assumed he was from the same world as her, aliens and other planets weren't uncommon in her reality either.

"According to the planet, we're stuck here. It's on some plaque." She shrugged. "But I got here last night so I haven't really explored much." The blond explained, as she slid off the board, holding on like he was and kicking, guiding them back to the shore. It'd be easier just to show him what the golem had shown her rather then try and explain it. "Come on, I'll show you. See if we can get you a room and normal clothes."

She shoved the board into the sand as they reached the beach, and grabbed the rest of her things, wrapping her towel around her waist. "You got a real name then, Batman?" Felicia asked, leading the way to the resort. "You sound kind of young. New to the hero business, or are you batting for the other side?" Wannabe savior or crime boss made no difference to her, she'd dealt with both, and 'Batman' sounded like it could go either way. The blond figured he was a good guy though, or at least tryin' to be.

Might as well look around", Batman agreed. "If I am stuck here it'd would be nice to know why or does the plaque not reveal that little bit of info?" he asked as he kicked along with her to bring them to shore. When Felicia mentioned normal clothes, Terry started thinking. Only a handful of people knew he was Batman and that was the way Terry wanted to keep it. The more people who knew about him, the more likely the information would leak out to the wrong person and Terry couldn't afford that. He knew it was all too easy for someone to go after his family. It had already happened before when the Stalker had kidnapped his little brother Matt. But I can't walk around in my suit all day. Not only would that be weird, it'd probably get a little funky too.

By the time he reached the sand, Terry believed he had a solution. I'll change into some normal clothes later and do the double life routine again, he decided. How long that lie would last in a small place like Mirage was debatable.

"Not a name I'm willing to share", he replied, trying to make his voice sound more like Bruce's. "Hero business. Been at it for a while though", Batman added vaguely. In fact he had only been Batman for almost a year and a half. Not a long time at all compared to the likes of Bruce or Superman but Terry had learned it wasn't a good idea to look like too much of a green horn.

"Are you in the business yourself?" They were heading toward the resort now, giving Terry ample time to studying the stucco buildings and layout. "Sway", he murmured. "Whoever built this place had money to spare". It wasn't long till they came near to the large main building. Terry's eyes soon spotted a large stone tablet leaning up against the wall. "Is that your plaque?" he asked Felicia.

"Oh, come now...I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours. I could even show you my little suit." She was asking his real name in return for her alter ego, which may not have seemed to be a totally fair trade, but Felica felt more like the Black Cat was her real identity. This unmasked life was too boring. Really, she didn't care if he knew about her double life either. Especially with the registration act in her world, most had their identities known anyways whether they liked it or not.

"More freelance. I wear the suit now and then, usually for a good cause." It was hard to say she was in the hero business, when quite honestly, she still had a habit of taking pretty things that caught her eye. Not to mention the Civil War with the supers kinda made it hard to pick out the good guys, but at least on that front she was on the right side of the law. (most of the time. Helping the Spider was against the rules.)

"No kidding. This place was a ranch yesterday too. No ocean, totally different building look." She explained, nodding when he pointed out the stone tablet. While he looked that over, she intercepted the golem that had been on its way out to retrieve him. Felicia grinned and pucked the key from it's stone hand, and shooed it away casually. The blond turned the key between her fingers, reading the number, before offering it to him. She'd figure out who he was one way or another.

"Sorry. Got a rep to protect", Batman replied flatly. Yet another costumed hero, he mused. It wasn't a huge surprise to Terry but he wondered if that similarity was why both he and Felicia where brought to this place. "A ranch? You mean it changed since you first arrived?" he questioned the blond. Virtual reality maybe? Or illusion, he silently added. Still, it was a pretty convincing for a virtual world.

The dark costumed man moved closer to the plaque and read it carefully. "Aside from the not able leave part, this sounds like a nice place", he finally said after about ten minutes of silence. "Of course, who knows how long anyone will obey the rules. How many people are here anyway? And are they all like us? The costumed freak crew".

He saw Felicia move out of the corner of his eye and turned to see the blond woman offering him a key. "For my room, I assume--" Oh, nice rhyme there Ter, he mentally rolled his eyes. "A216", he read out loud as he took the key. "Any idea where that's to?"

"Yep. Totally different. Course, not all that surprising. If the planet can kidnap people, why not get a make over?" She shrugged. Felicia wasn't going to try an explain it. What did she care? It did make you wonder what else 'the planet' could do, but the blond wasn't too concerned. She'd just deal with that when the time came.

"I've seen a few people here and there, but there are room enough for loads. So far I haven't seen any other costumes, but you never know..." She hoped with wasn't some costume freak conventions she'd been dragged off to. If it was a villain that brought them here -- no, that wouldn't make sense. Why provide such nice digs? Unless it was just a way to get heroes gone for good so they could cause trouble else where. Felicia shook those thoughts away for now.

"Yea. I'll show you." She turned and started towards the buildings. For someone who wanted to 'protect his rep' he wasn't doing a good job of it. Granted, she knew his room number anyways, but didn't he realize that all she had to do now was wait outside his door sometime and see who came out? Oh well. Worked for her. "The rooms are pretty nice. Mine was filled with almost everything that I could've asked for."

"Sounds like someone knew you were coming". Terry followed the woman across the resort to where Unit A lay, passing by the batting cage and Units B and C. It was all fairly uniformed in appearance and fairly organized. Someone had clearly went through a lot of trouble to build this place. The amount of buildings made Terry wonder just how many people were here and how many people were expected to be here. As they reached Unit A, Terry moved to open the door and held it for Felicia. "Ladies first".

Felicia hadn't seemed too concerned with Terry knowing that she was a costumed hero. That was different. All the costumed hero's Terry knew were all too keen on keeping their identities under wrap. "You know, you probably shouldn't tell just anyone you're a costumed hero", he suggested as they made their way to his room. "Never know, they could be a villain or your garden variety psychopath."

After climbing a set of stairs, the pair soon reached 216 and Terry tried his key. The door opened to reveal a dark, cavernous room that was all too familiar to Terry. His masked face didn't hide his surprise as he took a few steps forward down a flight of stairs into what looked like an exact replica of the Batcave.

"Always nice to know someone was looking forward to having me." She replied with a slight shrug. Kidnapping wasn't the best way to go about, but at least this Planet was doing it's best to make her comfortable. Anything that put her wants in such regard was good enough in her book. Felicia smiled and went inside the building when he held the door for her.

"I don't go around telling everyone. You're the first costume I've seen here though, and you remind me of a good friend of mine." She figured it would be best to play nice with him, that way if the aforementioned villains and psychopaths started showing up here too she'd have a potential ally. As nice and accommodating as the planet had been so far, there was no telling when it would change its tune. "Besides...You rat me out, and I'll gladly return the favor."

She stopped when he opened the door to his room, taking a few slow steps in after him, and looking curiously around the room. She supposed it was fitting for someone who dressed like a bat, but still just a bit creepy. "A cave?" Felicia chuckled, staying put at the top of the stairs. Partially to be polite, but mostly cause she wasn't too fond of the room. "I've got a room, looks like a New York penthouse suite, A109. You ever want to chat, feel free to come by." She offered. "Otherwise, unless you got any more questions, I'll leave you to get settled."

Terry was still reeling to having found himself in a replica of the so it took him a moment to process what Felicia was saying. Other questions? Aside from the who, how and why? Terry wondered before his mind came up with something. He turned around to face Felicia and was reminded of how little she wore. No doubt the chilly cave was uncomfortable and it was more than a little odd to see a blond woman standing in a place that was normally kept so secret. Still, he did have a few more questions and now was the time to ask her.

“Actually, I would like to ask one more thing before you go. Do you know where I could find a map or a layout of this place? It would be nice to know where I could find things….like food for example. Even a bat has got to eat, right?”

As he waited for her to answer, Terry took in his surroundings. Everything looked exactly the same, right down to the old villain costumes in cases to the huge computer system Bruce had set up against the wall. The only things missing were the old man and Ace which made the cave feel oddly empty and reminded Terry that no matter what it looked like, this wasn’t home.

"Haven't seen a map, but I'm sure if you ask one would show up. The golem fellows wandering about could probably give you one too." She suggested. It was a good idea actually. Maybe she'd ask for one herself. Even if it was more fun to just explore the old fashion way. Maybe she'd make herself a map later.

"As for food. There's a restaurant on the other side of the building. You leave this one and go around the back of the main building, the last door will bring you right in front of it. It's all free, and you can get pretty much anything you like." She explained, venturing a little further in despite the cold, letting her curiosity get the better of her. Felicia held out the brown paper bag absently as she looked up at the computer. "Sandwich, water, and a bit of fruit if you're hungry..." she offered.

The blond shivered slightly, but slid into a chair in front of the computer, spinning around to look at Terry. "You can ask for pretty much anything, and it'll show up. I don't think it works for people, but my kittens were all safe and sound in my room when I asked." Felicia hoped the guy didn't keep bats for pets. It would make about as much sense as the costume and cave did, but would be crossing that line from mysterious to creepy. Not to mention remind her of Morbius, good guy or not, the vampire was freaky.

Terry smiled when Felicia offered her lunch and his mask moved to show the expression. “Thanks but I’ll not quite hungry yet”. When she moved further into the cave to take Bruce’s traditional seat, Terry was amused. As he thought before, Felicia’s presence was a change from the usual sights of the batcave and seeing her in the boss man’s chair was bizarre in a funny way. He wondered how Bruce would have handled it. The mention of her kittens brought his mind back to Ace. It was tempting to wish for the dog, if only for company but he couldn’t do it. First, the dog was Bruce’s only company and Terry couldn’t fathom taking that away from the older Batman and second, it made Terry feel a bit better knowing that Ace was watching out for Bruce.

“That’s amazing”, Terry finally said. “I’ll have to remember that, who knows when it could be useful? I wonder if it would work for a map?” he mused as he moved to large computer system Felicia was sitting next to. Terry remained standing as he turned on the computer and checked through some of the less secret files. Everything seemed to be in order except the camera’s around Gotham. “Computer, do you have a file on the layout of Mirage?” Thankful the computer worked just like Bruce’s and responded to voice commands; otherwise Terry would have just looked like an ass talking to a computer.

The computer screen flickered as it brought up a large map that showed the main resort, the surrounding buildings, the beach, the ocean and a wooded area. There were some schematics about the land that Terry briefly glanced over before giving another command. “Computer can you get a map that covers the whole planet?” The screen flickered and another map spread across the screen, an image that caused Terry to stand up straight and made his eyes widen. Outside of the resort area there was absolutely nothing on the planet from what he could see.

Just miles and miles of desert.

Felicia shrugged as he refused the lunch, and set it down casually beside the chair. She crossed her legs and leaned forward, watching as he moved towards the computer. A brow quirked interestedly as the computer responded to his voice, mildly amused. He was like a dark, young Tony Stark. If that was a good or bad thing, she wasn't sure, but she'd always had a bit of a weakness for a man in a mask. Her attention turned to the screen as a map came up, committing as much as she could to memory, but more just for a basic idea of the resorts layout for when she explored properly herself.

The idea of the rest of the planet being covered entirely with desert was kind of strange. "What a waste of space." Felicia commented, wondering what was hiding the desert. There had to be something else out there, right?

"Do you suppose you could get any other information on the planet?" Chances are they wouldn't get anything more, but no harm in asking. She leaned back again casually, letting her legs hang over one of the arms of the chair, waiting to see what else Terry could come up with. Looking at the villains costumes with mild interest, wondering what sort of nutjobs this guy dealt with, how they compared to the baddies she'd heard of or seen.

Terry typed a few things into the computer, performing scans on the desert area in hopes of finding something but nothing came up. There were no other life forms, no large bodies of water, no structures…nothing. Just miles of wasteland. The only thing Terry seemed to find where large deposits of energy surrounding the outside of the resort. “There’s not much but there seems to be a large amount of electricity on the outskirts of the resort”, he finally replied. “Do you know if anyone has tried to leave the resort yet?” Terry glanced over his shoulder at Felicia, noticing that she was looking at the old costumes.

“Ah the old days”, Terry said with mock nostalgia. “Do you have many costumed freaks in your city?” he asked after a few moments before turning back to the computer screen. The young man had put out a few more searches but hadn’t discovered anything of interest. He was a little disappointed to see that the computer no longer had any video surveillance like it did back in Gotham. Terry could bring up semantics and scans of the terrain but could not view what was actually happening around the resort like he used to do back in Gotham. “So what city do you work in anyway? Maybe I’ve heard of you”.

Already Terry was thinking he should start files on the people he met and who better than self-proclaimed crime fighter?

"Probably but I can't say for sure. Like I told ya -- I got here last night. I've met you and some rock fellow that didn't talk." She shrugged. It seemed likely that others were trying to get off the planet if they were taken here like she was. Assuming they were brought here with more then the clothes on their back. That's all Felicia came here with, but luckily she'd had the right set of clothes on her back. It seemed unlikely that the planet would bring them here and provide means of escape either.

"You have no idea." She chuckled at the thought of all the costumes that passed through her city. Of course, she was pretty low profile compared to most of the others, and doubted (as nice as it would be) that he'd heard of her. "I'm a New York City girl. Spiderman, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, Avengers -- I'm small time compared to them." Felicia had no problem with that, it also kept her under the radar when she fell into her old ways snatching up pretty things that didn't exactly belong to her.

"How about you, sweet heart? I don't know that I've heard of anybody dressed like a bat. Where you from?" The blond stood, letting an arm hook around Terry's own, fingers playing over the suit material curiously. The costume, the cave, computer -- she'd have to make an ally out of him. Back home the Black Cat was more then content to work alone, but she didn't know this place or anyone else in it so a friend and ally would be nice. Maybe she'd start collecting information of her own, assuming he would with this big old computer.

Her gaze flickered to the screen, 'surveillance' catching her eye, and pulling a grin across her lips. Felicia motioned to it casually. "What do you say we get that working?" She said. How hard could it be to set up a few cameras, the planet might even give them helping hand, offering the equipment.

“Can’t say I heard of any of them either. At least I don’t think I have but then again, New York is a big place”. It wasn’t too surprising that she hadn’t heard of him since the original batman had been retired for a couple of decades now and a lot of people in Gotham had forgotten about Batman. “I work in Gotham”, Terry replied, tensing slightly when Felicia hooked her arm into his until he forced himself to relax. It wasn’t that Terry was uncomfortable around people, far from it but he had been burned by a pretty face before. Terry followed her gaze to the surveillance window on the computer screen. “Worth a shot”, he agreed although he had yet to master the computer system like Bruce.

“We’d need camera’s though to set up around the resort to hook the computer up to”. After a moment’s thought Terry remembered that Bruce kept extra parts and tools for the computer in the back of the cave. “We might be able to find something in the back”. The cavernous room was as large as the original batcave and if Terry didn’t know better he would have assumed he was back home at Wayne Manor.

“I can believe all this stuff is here”, Terry said as he walked further back into the cave. “Is it the real cave or just a copy?” he wondered. Silently Terry hoped it was just a copy since he’d hate to see Bruce robbed of the cave he had spent years in. “The only thing missing is my car”, he noted but that only made sense. Why would Terry need a car in such a small place? Especially when he had the batsuit to glide around in. Another thought came to Terry then as he looked back at Felicia.

“You know, you never told me your name either. Your costume name I mean”.

"Really?" She stared in surprise for a long moment before shrugging. He did live underground in some cave, after all. Felicia didn't know about any place called Gotham, either. It sounded kind of familiar, but she didn't strain herself trying to figure out why. Instead she just shrugged it off, distracted for a moment at noticing him tense at her touch. He did relax a bit though shortly after wards, which was good as he'd have to get used to that sort of thing around her. She was just naturally a touchy-feely sort of girl.

"I think it's just a copy because it does get some things wrong. Like I found a copy of my suit in the room it gave me, and there were details that were off. The rooms change as you need them to as well." She explained as they wandered off further into the cave. It was impressive. She had to give him that, and it brought up the question of who and how old again. This was awfully big and no doubt expensive -- young, rich upstart like she used to be? Maybe just a sidekick to someone bigger?

"No, I didn't." She smiled at him and kept going. Why give everything about herself away now? He could find out for himself later. No doubt they'd cross paths again when she was all dressed up -- dressed in general, for that matter, she noted her own lack of clothing not really all that concerned about it though.

Terry raised an eyebrow when Felicia evaded answering his question but decided against pushing the subject. He had a similar thought that he could find out later. The cave was lit sparsely for the most part but at least there was a large light by the cabinet in the back of the room. Terry opened it to find a tool chest but no cameras. “Maybe there are certain things the planet doesn’t want to give us”, he said out loud. It made sense, who or whatever had brought them here probably didn’t want Terry watching every little thing. “I’m not surprised, there’s got to be stuff happening on this rock that someone doesn’t want witnesses for”, he said out loud as closed the cabinet.

“Guess I’ll have to back to sleuthing the old fashioned way”. That meant things would be more difficult for Terry but he had been watching Bruce long enough and felt he was more than up for pounding the pavement…or sand as it where, he silently added with another glance at the bikini-clad Felicia. He realized then she might be cold in the cave. “I’d offer my jacket but I’m not wearing one”, he joked before looking around. There was villain costume nearby; Two-Face if Terry remembered and it had a jacket that Terry grabbed. One half was black and one half was white, just like the rest of Two-Face’s suit, and matched his split personality.

“Here”, he offered it to Felicia. “Sorry I didn’t offer you something sooner”.

"Sleuthing?" She laughed a bit at the term, conjuring up images of her new bat friend in a Sherlock Holmes costume. "I take it you're a bit of a P.I. too? I did that for a while in L.A." One of few jobs where she could utilize her talents as a costume for a legit career. That and it also got her in good with the police if she helped them out, which meant when she fell back into her old habits of stealing shiny trinkets, she wouldn't ever linger too long on the suspects list. Not that it happened too often, but old habits are hard to break.

"Thanks." The blond smiled and took the jacket he offered, slipping it on, more amused by the fact that it was some kind of trophy from a defeated enemy then anything. After all, it was a nice jacket, too large for her of course, but sill warmer then walking around in just a bikini.

"Anyways. As for the sleuthing," Felicia couldn't help another stifled chuckle, "I'll see if I can get my hands on any cameras, and if not we can case the joint the old school way like you said. It looks like the desert would be our best bet for anything suspicious though. The resort just seems like a place to keep everyone brought here entertained and out of the way."

“Good point. The desert is definitely worth checking out. Even though the computer isn’t reading much from it I would like to know why there’s a large source of energy surrounding the resort”, Terry agreed. “I would like to find out why we’re here. I have trouble believing it’s simply to be entertained by a resort”. The young man looked over the cave once more, silently marveling over how much it looked like home but there were a few things missing from the room that Terry noticed and not just stuff he would normally find in the bat cave. For one thing, the room was missing a bed. I’m sure there must be blankets around somewhere. I could sleep-- Just as Terry was thinking about it, a bed suddenly formed out of thin air in one side of the room, giving him a little start but he hid it well.

“Well, that’s something you don’t see everyday”, he drolly remarked as he approached his bed. It looked just like the one from his mom’s house and even had a nightstand next to it with a picture of Max, Dana and him in a frame. Terry picked up the picture and felt a pang of homesickness. He would miss Dana for sure but the pink haired Max would also be greatly missed, as would the advice she often gave Terry. Replacing the picture on the nightstand, Terry touched the bed to confirm that it was real.

“Ask and ye shall receive”, he murmured. “You’re right, the room adapts to what we need”.

Felicia sat on the side of the bed casually, watching as he lifted up a picture frame. She hadn't had any of those in her room. Come to think of it, she didn't own many pictures in general save the wrinkled old one of her and her father from ages ago. She didn't have too many people she was extremely close to back home, which she figured probably helped. She didn't have anyone back home to really worry too much about, and while she didn't want to be stuck here forever, she could stand to not see her friends for a while.

"What we need, provided it's with good intentions probably. It won't help us spy on everyone, after all." She stated, laying back on the bed, mildly surprised by how high the ceiling was. It was baffling to think that this room fit within the same building. Surprising, but nothing was really all that surprising anymore.

"Alright, Hun...I think I'm going to get going. I'm sure you'll be wanting out of that wet suit soon, and as much as I'd like to see that --" She flashed him a playful smirk, "I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate it."

She stood again, pressing a kiss to his cheek lightly, before starting towards the stairs. "Remember. A109. Feel free to drop by anytime." The blond said, a bit of a flirt, but it was in her nature -- especially when it came to people she wanted to get in good with.

"Yeah, this thing can get a little hot after a while", Terry said, tugging neck a little before Felicia gave him a peck on the cheek. It was a good thing Terry was wearing the mask because he had a slight blush after that. Terry was by no means bashful but it wasn't every day a cute blond gave you a kiss.

"A109", he repeated, memorizing the number. "I will if I need help but thanks for showing me around. I appreciate it. If you ever need help just drop by", Batman further offered.

He watched Felicia make her way out his room and close the door before he finally took off his mask. There had to be some civilain clothes around here and Terry wanted to explore a bit more without sticking out like a sore thumb.

(OOC: Shall we call that a wrap?)
