Day Seven
Who: Bobby Drake and Hellboy
What: Bobby's Arrival
When: Late afternoon-ish
Where: The Courtyard
Rating: Shouldn't go above PG-13
Status: Incomplete

It was good the school was back open. He was happy about that. And Bobby was very busy concentrating on that, and not on anything else. Not on how different it felt with the Professor and Scott and Jean gone, or about Rogue leaving in the middle of the night, or Johnny (Pyro, he reminded himself, not Johnny, he had to stop thinking of him as Johnny) locked up in the sublevels and what the hell they were going to do about that. He was refusing to think about anything awkward or depressing. None of it. Just being glad the school was open and Jimmy was safe and the Cure was hopefully taken care of.

And because he wasn't doing an entirely good job of that, he'd suited up and was heading to the Danger Room. Working out, that'd give him something to do. He'd program in something hard, maybe one of the scenarios Kitty'd made, and push himself through it. He'd even brought along his iPod, freshly updated with his music, so if his brain started trying to think, he could just turn that on and distract himself enough that he'd have to concentrate on the scenario and the music and nothing else. Until he was too tired to think.

Before he could get to the Danger Room, though, he spotted Jimmy walking his way. Bobby automatically tossed him a wide smile. "Hey, Jimbo."

"Hi Bobby," Jimmy returned, smiling a bit shyly back at him.

Bobby stopped walking. "Back up a couple of steps, will you?"

Jimmy's smile widened as he obeyed. Ever since coming there, Jimmy'd been uncertain and apologetic about his power, warning people that if they could close to him, their powers would disappear. Bobby'd done his best to make Jimmy feel more comfortable and commented quite a bit on how cool Jimmy's power was. Which, really, it was. And Bobby liked getting to feel cold like a normal person when he was around Jimmy, almost as much as he liked the smile on Jimmy's face every time Bobby gushed over getting to feel ice.

Bobby held his hands together for a moment, then pulled one hand away to reveal an ice rose. He could've just done a chunk of ice, yeah, but he couldn't resist the chance to show off a bit. And ice roses were easy for him. "Okay, come on closer," he said, looking up.

And then blinking in surprise when both Jimmy and the hallway were gone. He grinned. "Very funny, guys, you know this means huge retaliation, right?" he asked. "Dani? Is that you?"

He didn't get a response, and he realized that really, that didn't make sense, since there was nothing he really feared or desired about an empty courtyard. He started getting suspicious, and he dropped into defensive mode, suddenly glad he was wearing his uniform.

"Jimmy? Anyone? Hello?" he called cautiously.

"CRAP!", Hellboy grumbled, "I never signed up for this. Is it too late for a refund?". To his surprise, the stone man nodded yes. The red demon puffed his cigar and cocked an eyebrow, "Do you have a sense of humor?"...the golem replied with a negative shake of his head. Hellboy responded with a sound that was half chuckle-half grunt. "So, I'm guessing you can only answer yes and no questions?", he quizzed the golem. It smiled and answered with an affirmative shake of it's head. He looked at Bobby and growled around his cigar, "How do ya like this garbage, kid?". With a deep, martyred sigh, he continued, "Are there other people here that can answer our questions? People who were taken like us?", he asked. Two 'yes' replies from the golem.

Not waiting for more questions, the man of stone pointed at each of then and crooked his finger, indicating they should follow. He led them into a large lobby that had a desk with cubby holes for keys and a large map of the 'resort' showing all of the amenities available to it's guests. The golem pointed to the map and smiled, flourishing his arms like a stage magician, as if to say, see all we offer you...then he pointed at the buildings that housed the apartments and pointed to their keys. He paused for a moment and then one of the keys in the cubby holes began to blink. He retrieved the key, waved goodbye to them and left.

Hellboy looked at the golem...looked at Bobby...looked at the map...and looked at Bobby again, "Well kiss my long red tail! I guess we ain't the new kids on the block anymore!", he chuckled. Looking at the map, he shrugged, "It's a bit too early to hit the hay. What do you say we check this place out? Got any preferences, kid?". He didn't get too close to the boy, because he knew how humans could be...they might be okay with him from a distance, but up close, they found him a bit frightening. True, this boy was a mutant, but he was a very human looking mutant...he could pass for human. "Hey...that is, unless you want to head out on your own, pal...I'll understand".

Bobby grinned a bit at Hellboy's comment, about to reply that they hadn't actually paid anything for it, so they couldn't really get a refund, when the golem actually answered him. Oh, good, no sense of humor. That was sure to be fun. He gave another grin. "Reminds me of..." he trailed off, the joke falling flat because it was still hard to think of Cyclops. "Someone I knew."

And there were more people here. For a moment, Bobby was hopeful, since that might mean there were people here he knew. Which, well, would kind of suck, actually. He didn't want them to have been kidnapped, too, but if there were more X-men here, it'd be easier to get out. He followed after the golem, peering at the map it gestured at, then blinking when he headed off.

"Guess not," Bobby agreed. "I wonder how many people are actually here." This...was really, really crazy. And he was actually believing it. "Huh? Nah, man, safety in numbers. Who knows what's actually out there." He looked at the map again. "See any place you check out first? Otherwise I might suggest the close your eyes and point technique."
