Day Seven
Who: Bobby Drake and Hellboy
What: Bobby's Arrival
When: Late afternoon-ish
Where: The Courtyard
Rating: Shouldn't go above PG-13
Status: Incomplete

It was good the school was back open. He was happy about that. And Bobby was very busy concentrating on that, and not on anything else. Not on how different it felt with the Professor and Scott and Jean gone, or about Rogue leaving in the middle of the night, or Johnny (Pyro, he reminded himself, not Johnny, he had to stop thinking of him as Johnny) locked up in the sublevels and what the hell they were going to do about that. He was refusing to think about anything awkward or depressing. None of it. Just being glad the school was open and Jimmy was safe and the Cure was hopefully taken care of.

And because he wasn't doing an entirely good job of that, he'd suited up and was heading to the Danger Room. Working out, that'd give him something to do. He'd program in something hard, maybe one of the scenarios Kitty'd made, and push himself through it. He'd even brought along his iPod, freshly updated with his music, so if his brain started trying to think, he could just turn that on and distract himself enough that he'd have to concentrate on the scenario and the music and nothing else. Until he was too tired to think.

Before he could get to the Danger Room, though, he spotted Jimmy walking his way. Bobby automatically tossed him a wide smile. "Hey, Jimbo."

"Hi Bobby," Jimmy returned, smiling a bit shyly back at him.

Bobby stopped walking. "Back up a couple of steps, will you?"

Jimmy's smile widened as he obeyed. Ever since coming there, Jimmy'd been uncertain and apologetic about his power, warning people that if they could close to him, their powers would disappear. Bobby'd done his best to make Jimmy feel more comfortable and commented quite a bit on how cool Jimmy's power was. Which, really, it was. And Bobby liked getting to feel cold like a normal person when he was around Jimmy, almost as much as he liked the smile on Jimmy's face every time Bobby gushed over getting to feel ice.

Bobby held his hands together for a moment, then pulled one hand away to reveal an ice rose. He could've just done a chunk of ice, yeah, but he couldn't resist the chance to show off a bit. And ice roses were easy for him. "Okay, come on closer," he said, looking up.

And then blinking in surprise when both Jimmy and the hallway were gone. He grinned. "Very funny, guys, you know this means huge retaliation, right?" he asked. "Dani? Is that you?"

He didn't get a response, and he realized that really, that didn't make sense, since there was nothing he really feared or desired about an empty courtyard. He started getting suspicious, and he dropped into defensive mode, suddenly glad he was wearing his uniform.

"Jimmy? Anyone? Hello?" he called cautiously.

Hellboy looked the kid over and sighed as he holstered his gun, “CRAP!”. Looking around the courtyard first, he replied to the boy, “Not me, kid”, he sniffed the air, “I don’t smell any demons and I’m guessing you didn’t do this…or that’s one Hell of an innocent act”. He walked up to the kid and offered his hand, “Name’s Hellboy, but you can call me Red, sounds less ominous”, he grinned, “…gets me into more parties”.

He was still sizing this boy up…the uniform was damned familiar. What power was it that brought him to this place with this boy at this time? Had to be a reason for it. Was another power hungry madman like Rasputin setting up some kind of ritual? It wasn’t the demon he was chasing…it was a destructive lil’ monster but it couldn’t pull off teleporting him away. “Xavier’s people!”, he exclaimed, “You’re one of Charles Xavier’s people. I knew I’d seen those threads”, the large red demon was in the process of lighting a cigar, “I know of Cyclops, Storm, Jean Grey…never saw you, kid…what do they call you?”.

Before Hellboy could get an answer to his question, they were joined by a third ‘person’…or what appeared to be a person. This being was made entirely of some dark grey stone with veins of black and brown running through it; carved in the image of a handsome man wearing a suit, each minute detail was there…every eyelash, each pore, every fiber in his suit…and he moved as fluidly as any other human being. ‘He’ smiled pleasantly at them and pointed to a mounted tablet at the opposite end of the courtyard they were standing in. He smiled at them and headed that way, indicating with a wave of his hands that they should follow him.

Hellboy looked at the golem and asked, “What’s going on here? How did we get here?”. It just waved him on and smiled, “Great. The silent type”. With a shrug he followed the stone man over to the tablet and stopped…it pointed again, “Yeah, yeah, I get it…you want me to read it”…

"Welcome to Mirage.
This is your new home.
Your every need will be fulfilled.
You will have a place to live.
You will have food and clothing.
You will have entertainment.
You will have company.
You will not be able to leave.
You will not kill. Ever.
If you have questions, ask my assistants.
Love,
The Planet"

The tall red demon puffed heavily on his cigar and looked at the golem. “This is a joke, right? We will not be able to leave?”, he removed the cigar from his mouth, “Love…The Planet? Am I getting this right…Is this a message from a planet? THIS planet? We are ON…ANOTHER planet?”.

The golem shook his head no about the joke and no they could not leave, but then he smiled cheerfully and shook his head yes to the other questions asked by the cigar puffing demon. When the questions were over, he held his hands out and unrolled his fingers…on his palms were two keys, one for Bobby Drake and one for Hellboy.

Demons? That was a new one. Bobby'd heard mutants called many things before, but...wait, no, he'd heard demons a couple of times, actually. "Believe me, if I could do something like this, this is not what I'd be using it for."

Bobby smiled and the name and took the offered hand, giving it a firm and friendly shake. "Hellboy, huh? I like it. Better than some I've heard." Like a certain friend of his who'd decided that a good codename was combining part of her first name with her last name. Not that he ever taunted her about that or anything. "I'm Bobby. Nice to meet you, Red."

Or at least it would be if it turned out Hellboy was actually just as confused as he was, and not in on this. He didn't seem like he was acting, though, so Bobby was inclined to believe him. At least for the moment. And apparently he'd heard of Professor Xavier, which...could go either way, really. But he kind of reminded Bobby of Logan. Maybe it was the cigar smoking at the most random times.

He started to reply, but cut his response short when someone else joined them. Another physical mutant, maybe, although something seemed really off about him. He didn't bother adding his own questions to Hellboy's, since they were pretty much the same and the stone man had refused to answer them. Instead, Bobby followed along as well, reading over the tablet. And then read it again. And a third time, when he decided that this definitely had to be a really elaborate joke.

Or...not. "Are you serious? So, what, the planet randomly kidnapped us and is holding us prisoner? How can a planet even do that? Last I checked, planets really couldn't leave messages. Or teleport people across space." Bobby'd seen a lot, but this was new. He eyed the stone guy for a moment, then reached out and took the two keys. "This must be the bellboy. Apparently we've won an all expenses paid, permanent vacation."
