-Who: Zack Fair and Illyana Rasputin
-What: Lost and Confused
-When: Sometime
-Where: Someplace(will fix when someone makes a reference)
-Rating: PG
-Status: Incomplete

Looking around, Zack wondered if Angeal had stuck him in a simulation and not told him. Because this wasn't his rooms in the Tower. Or anything else that he really knew of. Not the metal floors and walls of the SOLDIER floors, not the labs, not even the fancy lobby.

He had been heading for lunch, and this was not the door he had gone through, and he felt a bit...tingly. Weird. Kind of reminded him of when he had first started getting Mako shots.

"Angeal?" he called out carefully, hoping to see his teacher somewhere around here. Angeal had never dumped him in a simulation and left him before.

Making sure his sword was still on his back, and making sure the rest of his gear was all there, Zack sighed. "Okay, all my stuff is here, so not another prank by the guys." Muttering to himself, he started to poke around, a bit wary, because this was so not part of his regular day.

"Hello?"

Illyana raised an eyebrow. He decided to listen to her because she was cute? Stranger things had happened on the Planet. Andy'd get a kick out of this, if she ever found him.

She took his hand and returned his smile. "Illyana Rasputin," she said, shaking it firmly. "Soldier, hmm? Pity you weren't here yesterday. The 'resort' was terrorized by giant lizard-men. Another fighter would have been useful." She stepped back from him just a little and waved her hand down the hall. "Since you still don't believe me, let me prove to you that I'm not joking. There's a plaque in the lobby you should see. That'll help."

Grinning at her, he just nodded. "All right. Let's see this plaque. And lizard men? I've fought dragons and such." He muttered about cave lizard people. Stupid lizard people and their spells.

"We're made to fight. It's what makes SOLDIERs special."

Illyana started down the hall toward the lobby, trusting that Zack would follow her or catch up and walk beside her. "The plaque lays out the rules of the place. And it's right by the front desk, so we can find your room key as well."

She turned back to him, eyebrow raised, as he mentioned fighting dragons. "My best friend back home has a dragon. Little purple one she calls Lockheed. He's kind of cute, in a scaly way."

Made to fight? "How old were you when you first started training?" she asked. He didn't look that old, even with the silvery-gray hair. His face read young. So, unless he was like Logan and didn't show his age, he couldn't be much older than she was. She'd heard of places training children to fight - after all, that was what the Professor did, in his own way - but the way Zack said it sounded like they were trained from the time they could pick up a weapon, or something.

((ooc: just a note. he's got black hair))

"Room key?" He blinked at that one. "And a little purple dragon?" That got him trying to imagine it, and it was kinda cute. No, bad brain.

"I joined the SOLDIER program when I was fifteen. Did the lab work, and they made me the awesome Second Class I am today."

(ikes! My monitor sucks! Sorry!)

"Room Key," Illyana said as they stepped into the lobby. "The place is laid out like some kind of fancy resort, with hotel-style buildings on either side. The outside of the room's pretty plain, but inside'll end up looking like whatever you want it to, even if you aren't sure at first what it is you want." She shook her head. "It freaked me out when I first got here." She glanced up at the wall, and, as she'd expected, there was a blinking light. "See? That's yours," she said, slipping behind the desk and pulling the rather nondescript key from the peg. She glanced at the number. "E 110. You're in the building next to mine." She chucked the key at him, just to test his reflexes. Soldiers had to be quick, after all.

"Fifteen?" she said as she came back around the front desk. "That's...." She trailed off, about to say young, but she thought to how old she and the others were when they'd become New Mutants. Fifteen was old compared to them. "Not too shabby," she finished. "I was about fourteen when I joined my team."

He snagged them easily. Reflexes were not an issue, not for someone who could dodge bullets if needed. "This place is really odd."

Moving to look at things, he grinned at her. "Military too? That's when I joined them, but I had to go through basic before they started lab work on me."

Always curious, Zack poked around a bit, fingering the key absently. "How many people are here?"

Odd was putting it mildly. Illyana smirked at him and motioned toward the wall. "That's the plaque," she said, nodding at it. "Lays out the laws of the land. Kind of like the Ten Commandments, without Heston."

"Something like that," Illyana said when he asked if she too was in the military. "Technically I'm still in training, and so's my group, but we end up seeing a lot of action because there aren't a lot of us, and stuff goes down." She shrugged.

"It's hard to say how many of us there are right now," Illyana said, frowning. "There used to be more, now there are less. People disappeared overnight. It's happened before, but...." She shook her head. If the Planet had sent Andy home to die, she'd kill it. If the lizards had taken him into the desert, she'd find them and bind their souls to her for eternity, or eviscerate them if they didn't have souls. "The Planet's alive," she explained. "It steals us from our homes and plops us down to see what we'll do. If it gets bored of us, it sends us home, from what I can figure out. But it won't let you leave on your own. Believe me, I've tried." Her face darkened again, remembering the vain attempts to summon her Stepping Disks.

"Sounds like us. There aren't a lot of SOLDIERs, and even if we're not in the war yet, we're being sent on missions and such to get our practice in."

He listened as she talked, reading the plaque at the same time. "We have legends that the planet is alive, though nobody really believes them."

Zack looked at her. "So...we're basically it's playthings?"

"Your planet's alive like this one?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. That was weird, even by her standards. Limbo was the weirdest place she'd ever been, and it wasn't alive - at least, not that she knew.

"Got it in one," she said when Zack figured out why they were all around. "It took me a few days to realize it myself. I was too upset to think rationally about anything when I first got here. It kidnapped me in the middle of...something important." She definitely did not want to think about that right now.

"Come on, let me show you where you're staying while you're here. That should clear up any doubts still hanging around in your head." She started for the door outside, glancing back to make sure Zack was following her.

"So the stories go. I don't know how true it is, but that's what they say."

Keeping track of where they were and processes what she was telling him. "I think if I thought this was real, I'd probably be more agitated. Still, I have to be a bit amazed that someone came up with this situation."

He noticed the buildings, just learning how everything was set up here.

"You still think this is some kind of trick?" Illyana said, turning to him as they walked. "How good is the tech on your world that you can walk around in a place like this and think it's fake? Or, do you think it's all a dream, and I'm some kind of manifestation of your subconscious?" That sounded like something Dr. MacTaggart would say, or the Professor.

"Seriously, though, if I were some kind of dream figure, wouldn't you have imagined me in a bikini or something?" She smirked at him, glancing down at her jeans and sleeveless shirt. "Don't guys imagine girls in bikinis? That's gotta be proof I'm not some sort of creation of your mind, right?" She jogged ahead of him to open the door to building E. "After you," she said.

"Well, obviously, the training room has some sort of solid light tech. Otherwise I wouldn't end up with nearly as much tore up stuff."

He grinned. "Though I wouldn't say no if you wanted to change into a bikini. That would be cool."

Following, he looked around with a careless grin, but was really making a study of as much as he could see.
