Hi there.
Who: Chang Wufei and Alphonse Elric?
When: Sometime
What: Falling awake
Where: Somewhere
Rating: PG-15 for possible cursing?
Status: Incomplete

He was rather certain when he had fallen asleep, it had been in his own bed, in his own room, in his and Yui's house. Which was not where he was now. So either he was having an entirely too realistic dream, or he had been moved while he was asleep, which argued for forcible entry and drugs in his system because Gundam pilots, no matter how old did not sleep through people touching them.

The bullet holes in their bedroom attested to this. As did the numerous infractions on Yui's record for accidentally damaging idiotic nurses in the hospitals they ended up in while doing Une's dirty work.

Maybe he was hallucinating. It had happened before. Granted, he'd been heavily drugged by a fellow Preventor agent at the time, or under the influence of the Zero System, but it was still a possibility.

Too bad Yui didn't appear to be around. He could always tell if he was hallucinating by the other man's out of character reactions.

Al had been on his way to go play more of those 'video game' things because even though they were a bit frustrating at times, they were still fun and interesting.

Al got to the door of the arcade room and pulled it open. He stopped still for a moment, surprised that it seemed like the fight that had taken place the other day had never happened. Everything was back to how it had looked before.

Then Al saw the guy lying in the middle of the floor. Wondering if he'd been injured from the lizards, Al rushed forward and plopped down his knees, shaking the guy slightly. "Hey, sir, are you alright?!" he asked worriedly.

Violent reflexes honed from years of keeping alive by the barest of margins were not conducive to lowered blood pressure. Or the preservation of furnature. Fortunately as Wufei flipped up and twisted to bring himself from a prone, semi-relaxed position to a crouched defensive form, there was nothing fragile in his way.

He swept the room with a quick glance to mentally note all exits, defensible objects and possible ambush positions before focusing on the stranger.

Blond, pale, light eyes and long hair, male, teenager. "Name and purpose."

"Whoa!" Al backed up in surprised, shocked at how fast the young man moved. "Uuuh...." Al held up his hands in an attempt to show he meant no harm. "I'm Alphonse Elric and I just wanted to make sure you were okay... Did the lizards hurt you?" Al couldn't remember this person being in the room when he, his brother, and Violet had left after fighting the lizards...

Probability that this was a hallucination just plummeted to .9%. He just wasn't imaginative enough to come up with something like this in his own subconscious.

"Lizards?" With a blink he shelved that for later inspection.

"I am uninjured. Location and coordinates." Wonderful, he'd spent far too much time around Yui if he'd picked up the man's clipped, military vernacular.

"Yes. Don't you remember? They were everywhere yesterday..." Al paused as a thought came to him. "Have you ever been here before? Are you new?" Maybe that's why the man seemed so... jumpy. Al hadn't ever seen him around the resort before. "What do you mean by 'location and coordinates'? I'm not sure what you want to know, sorry."

Figuring it was the right thing to do, Al held out his hand to shake, unsure if the man would take it or not. "I'm Al. Alphonse Elric. What's your name?" He kept his posture calm but was ready to defend himself should this stranger attempt to do something to him. Hopefully he'd gotten the point across that he meant no harm.

"As far as I am aware, this is my first time in this facility. Where are we located and how did I get here?" He took a deep breath and shifted to a less 'ready to break bones' position, staring at the offered hand.

"My name is..." he paused and looked the boy over more carefully. He was in unknown territory under possibly hostile conditions. This could be a ploy to get information out of him. An attempt to lower his guard. On the other hand, since the whole Mareimaya debacle, he wasn't exactly unknown. None of them were. Damn publicity made undercover work a double bitch to pull off. Whoever was behind this exercise probably knew far more about him than his mere name.

"I am Chang Wufei, special agent for the Proventers."

A new arrival then. That explained the confusion. This was Al's first time greeting someone besides his brother so he figured he should do what he had done with Ed...

"You're at a place called Mirage. You're probably going to think I'm crazy but the planet we're on is psychic and pulls people from all sorts of different places and times. That's how you got here." Al scratched the side of his cheek sheepishly, wondering how this new person would take the news. He was pretty sure a stranger was far more less inclined to believe him than his brother. "It's nice to meet you, Chang." He lowered his hand when Wufei didn't take it. "I've never heard of the Preventers. I'm an alchemist myself but I won't be surprised if you don't know what that is either. Not a lot of people here do," Al admitted.

He gave the boy his most incredulous '...you are shitting me' look.

"...The planet brought me here. To what purpose?"

Perhaps the facility was a psychiatric center. Maybe he'd finally snapped and Une had ordered him carted off for study and help by little men in white lab coats with pretty pills.

"Because it was bored...?" Al answered, growing increasingly nervous as more moments passed. He remembered his own reaction when he had arrived himself... "You're not crazy and I'm not crazy, really, ask anyone here! We all were brought here, just... pulled from where we were. Here, I'll show you that it really is psychic."

Al held his hands out in front of him and asked, "I'd like a book please." A book appeared not a second later and dropped neatly into Al's hands. He laughed a little weakly when he saw the title: The Dummy's Guide to Survival. "See? It can hear us and more or less gives us what we ask for."

He stared at the book and at Al a few minutes longer. He was trying, very hard, to get some kind of grip on the whole concept.

He wished he was hallucinating. At least he knew what to do in the event he was hallucinating which was find out why and try not to damage anyone until he could figure out which bits of the hallucinations were real.

Somehow the idea of a psychic planet never entered into any of his training seminars.

"This... is a good time for tea." or sake, but he knew better than to hope getting drunk would fix anything. Maxwell could joke all he liked about the benefits of a good bourbon, but Wufei was stronger than that.

"Okay. We can get some tea, if you want. You probably have a room already. I can show you where your key is and take you there, to your room." Well at least Wufei wasn't freaking out like Al had... granted, that had been because he thought his greeter was a Homunculus but he'd been wrong and had apologized. "What do you want to do first?" He let Wufei decide.

Do? He would like to wake up from this deranged nightmare and start in on those reports to Darcel on the drug ring he and Yui had found while searching for missing guns. If he let Yui do it, Darcel would make the poor man re-do it five times until Une had a conniption or a body on her hands.

"The planet isn't going to be so kind as to send us back to where we came from in a timely and efficient manner, is it."

He tried to tone down the weary exasperation in his tone, but he wasn't very hopeful.

"Probably not," Al admitted. "Although a few people have disappeared since I've been here... Hopefully nothing, you know, bad happened to them but I don't know for sure." It seemed like most of the people Al met were now gone... Only his brother remained for sure. "So... where are you from? When are you from? I've meet people from all sorts of different years."

"I was in Brussles yesterday, year AC 202. July 25th, to be exact." After a three week sojourn through Bermuda hunting illicit gun shipments. Which turned out to be raw cocaine instead of guns, although there was plenty of shooting involved in the end.

This was possibly the most bizarre incident of his life. He was speaking to a nice, seemingly normal civilian teenager, and remembering fondly trenching through leech and mosquito infested rain forest after hardened criminals.

Toss in a singing snow monkey and a dancing giraffe, and he'd be in Trowa's circus.

Al's eyes brightened when he actually recognized the name of a city. "Brussels! I know where that is! Never been there but I lived near there for a time with my older brother. Don't know exactly what year that is though..." He trailed off. "When I was in Germany, it was the year 1923, December. Germany isn't my home though." Al debated risking telling Wufei about where he actually came from... He didn't want to sound too crazy and he was sure he already did.

"1923... AD?" He quickly did the math. And blinked. "For someone over 800 years old, you don't appear very decrepit."

"Oh no, I'm not 800," Al said with a laugh. "People get pulled here from all sorts of different times. I'm only 13. Sort of. Mentally I'm 17. It's... a long story."

"I imagine it would have to be."

Thirteen. And obviously an Earther because at thirteen he was almost taller than Wufei at 22. He gave a mental snort.

He stood up straight and started looking around more obviously, trying to categorize the area.
