Who: Michiru and Haruka
When: Day 33, early morning
Where: The stables and then out riding
Status: Incomplete.

Michiru had gotten used to getting up early, dawn preferably, and doing a bit of wandering while things were still quiet and peaceful. Since Haruka didn't share her love of mornings, she tended to let the blond sleep. Today however, she walked only to the restaurant, picked up a simple breakfast for two and returned to the room to wake Haruka up. Even with Haruka's normal unwillingness to get out of the bed, they both managed to make it up and out to the stables before too much of the morning had past.

The golems had already tacked up two horses by the time they arrived, which disturbed Michiru slightly. While she appreciated the convenience, the fact that the Planet had anticipated her desire before she'd even voiced it was more than a little annoying. Still, she was happy to note the golems had brought her the same horse from yesterday. Naming convention aside, she'd liked the gray mare. She took the offered reins from the golem and let the creature give her a leg up into the saddle.

She waited for Haruka to get mounted as well before urging her horse into a walk out of the stabling area. She waited for Haruka to catch up before asking "Anywhere in particular, or did you want to just ride?"

Michiru let her horse continue galloping past Haruka and into the woods slightly before pulling up. She let her horse drop back to a slow trot to let Haruka catch up.

"I knew it wouldn't be long before you'd want to go galloping off" she said with a knowing smile.

She patted her horse's shoulder, feeling the mare's sweat and slightly labored breathing, and let her drop back to a walk.

Haruka shook her head as Michiru went shooting past her, and chuckled lightly. She leant closer to the gelding's head. "Ladies first, right?" she said quietly. She urged the gelding into a trot to catch up to her lover.

"I've wanted to for a while," she replied. "This one just needed a bit of coaxing." She patted the gelding's neck gently. It turned its head and snorted at her. "Oh, don't be like that," she said. She let him slow to keep just behind Michiru as they continued along the path.

"Of course, of course. Blame your mount" Michiru said with a laugh, looking over her shoulder at Haruka. She was about to say more, but her horse chose that moment to make a grab for low hanging leafy branch.
"Hey now" she said, pulling the reins and squeezing with her heels to get the mare away from the branch and moving again. "That might be poisonous"

Mostly she let her mare set the pace for a bit, enjoying the ride, but she was beginning to feel the strain in her legs. She glanced back at Haruka again. "How're you doing?"

"I blame the fault," Haruka said, shrugging her shoulders. She looked down at the horse. "Although, he seems to be behaving better, for the moment." Hopefully, it would continue to do so.

"I'm all right," Haruka said. Truthfully, she could feel the aches beginning in her legs, but if Michiru wanted to keep going, she'd keep going. Riding used different muscles than running, so she was getting a very different workout from the usual. It was nice, even if it was slightly painful. "You?"

	"We probably should go too much further" Michiru commented with a sigh. As much as she was enjoying the ride, if they wanted to explore anywhere else today, they should probably head back, or they would both be aching too much by the afternoon. "Probably not," Haruka agreed. But she followed Michiru's lead and kept on the path. She wasn't in a rush to go back. Doing something "new" was refreshing, and since the landscape was also new, Haruka could pretend, just a little, that they weren't trapped on the Planet. They'd gone out to the country somewhere, maybe a break from a European tour, and were enjoying a free day. Hotaru was back at the lodge or hotel, enjoying the sunshine and pool. She'd be writing letters back to Usagi-chan, telling them all about the adventures they were having.

Haruka sighed. She was never one to lose herself in fantasy. She knew too well the reality of her situation. Her happy fantasy couldn't be sustained. "Do you think Hotaru is keeping up with her schoolwork?" she asked, seemingly out of the blue.
