Rating: PG-13 tops (this is Luna after all and allows for talk of the events of book 5)

Luna Lovegood was on a mission, to track down what she had heard overnight. "It has to be moon frogs!" the younger woman was grinning as she walked towards what she was hearing from the sitting room. The events of the day before still bothered her somewhat but she was trying to make the best of being stuck on this planet and was happy to have located one friend in Tonks. She had also heard of others her age being on planet and hoped to make a few new friends along the way. She got to thinking,*At least I know Tonks is here, we look out for each other just like the Order and the DA* as she followed the voices into the sitting room.

She could pass for much younger being only 5"0 tall but something within the younger witch shined through, the quirky sweetness and warmth. Her wand was safely tucked into the pocket of her jeans to be on the safe side but the large scar on her hand would make anyone worry.

Luke was walking down the hallway, heading to where the video games were since it was something he enjoyed. He wished he had someone to play them with though... Not for the first time, Luke found himself missing Clyde.

However, he stopped when his curiosity got the best of him as he overheard someone say 'moon frogs'. Luke had never heard of those. Perhaps it was someone from a different world, he thought excitedly. Luke wanted to learn all about as many different worlds as he could as long as he was here.

"What are moon frogs?" he spoke up, following after the young girl who seemed around his physical age.

"Moon frogs are just a unique breed of frog where I come from" Luna's eyes lit up when she heard the voice behind her. So she turned to see a boy about her age standing there,"Was following what I think are the sounds coming from a nest of them but seems to be a dead end" she explained. As the little radishes swung from her ears she admits,"I just landed here yesterday and had to nosy around, those sounds gave me a good excuse"

	Luna offered her own hand,"Luna Lovegood and of course!" fishing for her research book and found the section on moon frogs. "My father and I track various creatures as a hobby" she explained. 	Luke's eyes widened at the book. "Is that all on different animals? Are they all from your world? Where are you from?" When she said creatures, Luke got the feeling she wasn't talking about your typical squirrel or bird. "I just turned 15 too." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"They are all from my world and I've been tracking everything from moon frogs to crumpled horned snorkacks" Luna had to smile. "But my world has more unusual creatures" debating how Luke would take to her being a witch (but a good witch). (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"I'm also from England and had just finished my 4th year of school so the year would be 1996, sometime mid summer" Luna nodded. 	Luke listened with interest as Luna told him about the things she looked for. However, the more she spoke, the more Luke picked up on something. It didn't seem like she'd actually ever seen these creatures themselves, just evidence that they existed, so Luke put the question forth. "Have you ever seen any of these things up close?" 	"Not yet but I have come close several times" Luna had to smile. "Thestials are pretty common but the only way one can be seen if you having to have seen death, for me it was my mum who died when I was little" she explained. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Oh," Luke said, his tone quieter. "I'm sorry about your mum." He was silent for an awkward moment, thinking about Sarah Jane, but that would be rude to bring up his own mother when Luna had just said she'd lost hers when she was young. Even though Luke was starting to think that Luna just imagined most of those creatures, he decided to humor her and change the subject back to the animals. "What do thestrals look like?"

	"Thestrals are a type of winged horse, invisible to those who have not witnessed death. But people like me who can see them see them as skeletal horses with reptilian features" Luna explained. She never minded explaining the creatures and asked,"I've only found one person from my world, an older witch that's a friend. Do you have people from home here?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Luke wasn't quite sure what to make of that. Skeletal horses? Luke had never even seen an animated skeleton, let alone one of a horse. He wondered if he would be able to see them. Did it count if one saw aliens die?

Luke almost flinched when Luna asked her next question. Feeling bad and hoping it wouldn't upset her, he was honest and admitted, "My mother is here. She adopted me but she's the only family I've ever had. There are a few other people here as well that she knows but I haven't met any of them yet."

	"I have Tonks, she's an older witch from my world and I think of her as a friend" Luna was not worried since she was used to the questions by now. "I'm actually a pure blood witch but I'm a nice witch" deciding to get it out there now. "But your mum sounds great and do you know anything about her friends?" thinking of possible common links. Luke didn't know who Tonks was but he was glad Luna wasn't here alone. He wasn't sure how he would feel if he'd arrived and Sarah Jane hadn't been at Mirage. Lonely and a little lost, he supposed.

He shook his head at her question. "I don't know all of them personally, just a little bit about them and what they do. She traveled with the Doctor when she was younger and Torchwood is here too. Sarah Jane doesn't think they're a very good influence," he added with a grin. "She doesn't like using guns. What's a pure blood witch mean?" Luke asked, changing the subject back to her.

	"A pure blood witch means both parents are witches and wizards" Luna explained. 	"Oh. Are all purebloods evil?" Luke asked, not quite understanding why Luna kept on saying she was a nice witch. It wasn't that he didn't believe she herself was nice. "You use spells?" 	"Some can be evil but the bulk of us are quite nice, my friend Ginny's twin brothers use magic as part of their pranks and they are two of the most fun people to be around" thinking of Fred and George. 	"Its magic" Luna had to smile. "With a little help via my wand of course" as she tucked the wand back into her hair like a muggle chopstick. "I was in school learning more about what I can do when I got pulled here" meaning Hogwarts but was ready for more questions. (Reply to this) (Parent)
