open 🌸 all day
[Spring has come to Miracle Country. After months where the only tree in bloom is the sakura at the center of the park, suddenly everything is in bloom all across the islands. The sun is shining, birds are singing, and life seems just a little bit happier.

All throughout today, sakura petals will be falling from the sky, gentle like snow. There might even be the occasional feathers falling, too. But where did those come from?

April 1st is a special day for Miracle Country. To celebrate that special day, the quests that usually hang from the sakura are more abundant than ever. Usyagi across the island today will approach you with particular quests and part-time jobs, as if to invite you to participate…

You might receive a quest that asks for the following:

Enjoy a drink! Lucifer’s Bar is open all day with samples of different sake and other drinks. Enjoy a sip, or two, or three. Getting drunk is an April 1st tradition!

Help out! Part-time jobs are traditional and surely someone needs help today with their job or tasks at hand!

Wear a kimono! There’s a booth set up in the bazaar with a wide array of kimono, yukata, and Chinese-style dress to try on. So many colors and patterns, it’d be a shame if these weren’t worn. There are also accessories to choose from, such as jewelry, shawls, and eye-patches.

Bake a cake! It’s a certain girl’s birthday today and it’s such a shame that she’s made to work today at the Cherry Blossom Café… Why not stop by and help her bake a cake to celebrate?

Learn to fight! Head to the fighting arena and you’ll see a wide array of swords. There’s a mini-course set up there with dummies that need to be fought with obstacles to avoid. If you complete the course, you might even get to keep the sword!

Sing! It’s alright if you aren’t confident in your ability to sing, but no matter where you are today, there might appear a karaoke machine. No cheating and singing just to yourself, you’ll have to find a friend!

Collect the flowers! With so much in bloom today, it’d be a shame not to make a beautiful bouquet to give to someone special, wouldn’t it?

Make a teddy bear! There’s a booth set up in the bazaar to make your own teddy bear. Teddy bears are, of course, a great tradition and a lovely gift to give to someone special. Maybe you’ll get lucky and someone will name your gift after you…

Take your time! The museum today has a beautiful display of all sorts of clocks. They start out normal at first, but the further into the display you go, the more complicated the clocks appear, the more connected they seem, and the more they seem to call to you, too— mistakes you’ve made, things you’d change, things you’d want to take back… Oh, maybe Miracle Country wants you to think about that too much?

The quests might not be required. But, knowing this place… perhaps it’s a better idea to go along with it. These will be available throughout the month, too, so perhaps you want to save it for later. For each quest completed, you’ll of course be awarded the konpeito.

It’s time to celebrate. What’s the worst that can happen?]

Well, as a matter of fact I have yet to sweep the floors today.

[The floors... don't look particularly in need of sweeping, probably. It's because Sebastian's standards are a little special.]

If you would please get to that, then? The broom is in the closet - I will show it to you.

[Oh, yay.]

Ah, thank you very much. [Following him.] I'll do my best.

Very good.

[He doesn't really care about "doing one's best" unless the end result is also good, but. it's a start. He does indeed lead her to the closet and opens it for her.]

There you are. The entire floor, then, if you please.

I'll get right on it! [Grabs the broom and starts sweeping!]

[Out of the frame, Sebby Jr The Magical Broom watches forlornly from a corner and wonder what he did wrong to get replaced]

Please tell me if you need anything, [Sebastian finishes with before he leaves her to her work as he himself returns to his baking. I mean, he says "anything" but obviously he'll judge her if she comes to him with some small issue that any idiot should be able to solve for themselves.

Anyway. Yay Sebastian got an assistant - dare he hope he'll have some decent help around here finally?]

[Well, she can't be worse than Ao or Lucifer, can she?]

[But she's used to working on her own, as well, so she doesn't even come to bother him as she's working-- just focuses on sweeping. It's... true... that there doesn't appear to be much of a need for it, but that just means she's going to work that much harder to make sure it's really okay.]

[It'd take some real talent to be worse than those two for sure...]

[In the meantime, Sebastian gets back to whatever he was baking (it's the regular gorgeous-looking piece of art, no doubt). He looks over at what she's doing once (because he's conditioned to disaster "help", okay) but when she looks to be doing just fine he leaves her to it. Kind of pleasantly surprised by how well it's going.]

[Finishes up, looking relatively pleased with herself-- and hears the little sound of good konpeito filling up her jar. Hazzah, she has fulfilled the quest!!]

[Peeking her head in, not wanting to interrupt him if he's doing something important.] Ah-- I think I've finished with the floor now.

Oh? You made good time,

[Brb checking that it looks all right, that she's done a good job sweeping the corners...

It. it looks perfectly acceptable. She certainly hasn't made it worse, or somehow created a giant hole in the floor (again, Sebastian has Experiences with hired help).

...Give him a moment to quietly *__*]

[T- the long pause is making her a little nervous, because obviously it's because she's done a poor job!1]

If you need me to do more...

No, no.

[He makes a quick, dismissive hand gesture.]

On the contrary, it is quite acceptable. [Not only did she not make it worse; she even did it well. Amazing!

Hmm.]

I seem to recall you offered to do any chore I had for you, if I had any?

[Never let it be said that Sebastian wastes an opportunity to use people.]

May I ask you to take care of the dishes? ["Yes." To his credit, it's less to use her and more to see what she's good for...]

Very good. Please follow me into the kitchen, then. [Chop chop, off they go.]

I use a dishwasher for the sturdier plates and utensils, of course, but the delicate china requires handwashing.

[/thinks human technology is super cool. Even if he probably can't use the dishwasher much in his service of Ciel (because Ciel eats on nothing but delicate china).]

You need not use it if you don't know how to. [Not on her first day, at least.] What is time-consuming, and what I require, is assistance with the handwashing.

Oh, so? Pardon me; I thought you seemed surprised.

[Not everyone has seen a dishwasher before. Case in point: him, before he got here.]

But in that case, I shall entrust all the dishwashing to you today.

No, I was only surprised... That is, dishwashers exist in my world but perhaps they aren't so common.

But-- I'll do my best. You can leave it to me.

[What a nice day today is! He's getting so much done (fortunately there isn't all that much dish to wash. Sebastian's good on the upkeep of the place).]

Very good. Then I'm counting on you.

[He'll leave her alone and come check on her eventually. Please don't break his best china.]
