fairestcat: The Invisible Slasher - I think the reason the people who ignore or dismiss LGBTQ fans, particularly queer slash fans, anger me so much isn't just that they're erasing my existence, it's that they're erasing the existence of a significant portion of my community within fandom. -
smirnoffmule: On Slashing While Straight and Writing While Queer - So. Writing slash, for straight people, is kind of like being invited into the living room of the LGBT experience. And it's one thing, as a civilised guest, to make yourself comfortable, relax, and have fun in someone else's house, but it's quite another to litter it with your own crap, stamp your muddy boots all over the carpet, and wank off all over the couch. -
xtricks: Should (straight/lesbian/etc) women be 'allowed' to write slash? - My discomfort about slash (or m/m fiction) isn't that women are writing it, reading it, making it popular or anything else - I have absolutely no problem at all with all my friends, or anyone else, writing slash (or any other genre for that matter). inkstone: Where Are My Heroines At? - Let's put together a list of the 10 most iconic anime heroines. The key word here is iconic -- influential, groundbreaking & recognizable. -
zephyrprince: 1 Gay & Fannish Perspective - The one thing that I do hope that people will take away from this post, though, is just the fact that there are, in fact, gay guys like me in fandom (and trans and bi guys). -
applegnat: sherlock holmes: i has seen it - I don't mean it's outright homophobic, but again, under the affection [genuine] and the kooky rom-com childishness of both parties involved [often forced], what is there? -
