fairestcat: The Invisible Slasher - I think the reason the people who ignore or dismiss LGBTQ fans, particularly queer slash fans, anger me so much isn't just that they're erasing my existence, it's that they're erasing the existence of a significant portion of my community within fandom. -

xtricks: Should (straight/lesbian/etc) women be 'allowed' to write slash? - My discomfort about slash (or m/m fiction) isn't that women are writing it, reading it, making it popular or anything else - I have absolutely no problem at all with all my friends, or anyone else, writing slash (or any other genre for that matter). It&'s the assimilation of a part of gay men's voice to satisfy a different group's needs and the loss of that voice for gay men (via simply drowning out a minority voice with a much larger voice). -
