  • [info]telesilla: okay so here's the thing... - when academia and straight fans use my words to describe their hobby, it all too often reads as if they're grabbing the parts of being queer that are cool and edgy and transgressive, not the parts that are painful and exhausting and fucking depressing. -

Unfortunately, it is just not feasible for us to research every post we link to in order to determine whether or not it is mirrored on multiple journal systems. We receive links from a variety of sources and the compiler who posts a day's update is rarely responsible for having added all the links it contains.

One of the reasons we were able to expand our link collection and posting to include journaling systems other than livejournal was because of the del.icio.us bookmarking system we use and the automatic posts it generates. However, our delicious script generates one set of code which we then crosspost to multiple journaling sites. While we have discussed ways to tweak the code in order to make the distinction between links to different sites cleaner, going in and hand coding each individual post in order to link to the livejournal post on livejournal and the insanejournal mirror on insanejournal, etc. would completely negate the time saving aspect of the script that allows us to link to and on multiple sites in the first place.
