Apparently LJ has set several people's accounts to "Autopay" without their permission. elfwreck has a link roundup. ldybastet also comments on the claim that it's just user stupidity / a confusing payment page.

LiveJournal partnering with Snap.com

... which resulted in the new "Snap Shots" feature. nosselinfea has a nice summary of the issue. (I better mention it right here, because the info is buried somewhere in the linked threads: disabling Snap Shots the way it's explained in the FAQ means that Snap.com will set a tracking cookie to collect information about your browsing preferences. Apparently there's no other way to block it, unless you use, say, Firefox's Adblock Plus to get rid of it.)
