Title: The Potter Files

Disclaimer: All characters are property of J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury Inc. Other concepts and likenesses belong to the creators of The Dresden Files (books and TV show).
Summary: Private investigator, wizard, thorn in many people's sides. Harry Potter's a jack of all trades.
Warnings: AU, plucky first person narrative, non-major (aka: minor OC) character death, accidental bottom!Harry :P Kinks include first-time, rough sex, dirty talk, rimming, wall sex and shower sex.
Author's notes: This is a weird AU amalgamation of post-DH HP canon and The Dresden Files, where I've picked and chosen the elements of HP to keep/change, the most obvious being that Malfoy = Muggle/Murphy. It's a strange mix of things you seem to like, [info]sansa1970 - detective fiction, Snape as a featured character and your fabulous list of kinks. The rest I kind of guessed at, and I hope you like it! You don't have to know The Dresden Files to follow, though those who do should recognise quite a few things :D

I'm going to build an altar to worship you on, nqdonne. I will do a proper review when I read the fic again, but you took two of my all-time favourite series - Harry Potter and Harry Dresden - and wrote an incredibly marvellous fic. I loved every word of it, from Snape as Bob to Draco as Murphy and everything in between. I recognised a lot of Dresden references, which had me squeeing madly. You're awesome!

I'm still working my way through all the fics I had waiting, so I read this without having seen who'd written it. *g* I know nada of The Dresden Files but this was VERY fun to read -- I was laughing right from the start at Harry's ongoing commentary and the dialogue between him and Draco. A most enjoyable story!

hee. I'm pleased you read it when I was still anon to you :P Glad you liked it, and you should definitely check out The Dresden Files! I stole the tone right from it, and the lead character Harry Dresden (double Harrys!) is just as snarky and fun. Though there's no gay on there, which I just had to remedy, of course :D

I have to admit that when The Dresden Files came on TV, I thought who easily Harry Potter would fit into Dresden's life. Snape as Bob was brilliant. I also liked how you wove the plots of several episodes into this story. You made the cross over between the two 'verses fit perfectly.

This was hysterical! Loved the bitchy banter between Harry and Draco ;). I also really liked how different you made the actual encounter with the two of them. It was obviously the real thing. HOT.

This was a clever and funny cross over, complete with hot sex.
Harry accidentally bottoming and having sex with Not Real Malfoy was hilarious, Snape's ghost was just brilliant - the fact he moves the porn just to annoy Harry and doesn't want to pass to Neville after Harry dies cracked me up.
And there was plot. There was good, murderous and political plot.
Yay!

This was fantastic! I wish I hadn't been in Ohio when it posted. I didn't think this would be a good one for printing at my parents' house... good call me. The sex was fantastic, but not something I want to cop to enjoying to my Mom or Dad. ;)

I love AUs that just change a tiny thing or two and otherwise stay really true to canon. Draco and Harry were fantastic. Smith as the bad guy was really great too! I'm a bit sad for Snape that he's a ghost, but I realised how much I missed him in fan fiction.

ps - If I hadn't known this was you - the inclusion of Percy would have made me think of you. I hardly ever see him in a fic that doesn't specifically feature him.

Even if I have to admit that I only ever saw the first episode of The Dresden Files and couldn`t make up my mind yet, if it deserved any more of my time, I love your hommage to it and HP. That the main character is named Harry Dresden had been a plus point for the series for me!

And this was a very intriguing mystery and I loved how you incorporated two stories into this one: The werewolf conspiracy and Smith`and Malfoy`s career war. And it was just too funny how Harry had sex twice with a Not-Malfoy and even bottoming for him.I`m gald that my boys got their shit together int he end and Malfoy finally admitted to lusting after Harry and even wanting to become his boy-friend quite insistently. And Harry being suspicious of Malfoy`s identity made me laugh again. Oh, and I really laughed the awkward sex here which made it all seem more real. I have usually accepted that sex is always perfect in fandom, but I prefer realistically good to it. And you pulled that off fabulously. And Snape as the sarcastic ghost and Malfoy still a little shit, but lovable were great additions as well.

Much love for you for writing this wonderful story!

What a delightful AU! I particularly loved how it seemed a universe in which you needed to know very little backstory for any fictionverse to enjoy it. I've never read The Dresden Files so that, at least, was something I knew nothing about. A terrific plot--I never guessed any of the oddities that were going on, but it didn't feel like anything came out of the blue, either; all the clues should have been there!
