Really intriguing and well-executed. Harry is so desperate and reckless here -- the obsession not only shines through but fairly pulses throughout the story. Snape getting drawn in, falling for Harry, showing his emotional vulnerability, and then giving Harry up? Devastating. I love that it was a not-happy ending - not unhappy precisely, because there are hints at a reunion of sorts, whatever Harry eventually is able to recollect. And the closing scene lets us see how Snape seems to feel his choice was affirmed as the right one, since Harry has been able to devote his attentions to his children in the subsequent years after their affair. But I like the bravery you displayed (you Gryffindor *g*) in writing such an emotionally wrenching fic, and closing with the two love-interests still apart from one another, yearning separately, with nothing explicitly assured. Great stuff!
