SNOW FALLS ON MERCY COVE
MARCH 10TH - 12TH
The residents of Mercy Cove may be used to cooler temperatures in this coastal town, but snow in these parts is a rare sight. Especially in the streets of Mercy Cove. Temperatures are expected to drop dramatically on Thursday the 10th of March, and with it comes a snowstorm to batter the local residents.
While the snowfall is not so bad that people would be snowed in, Mercy Cove is not a town equipped to handle this sort of weather. There are no snowplows, the roads will be very dangerous and covered in black ice and people around here don't have snow chains or know how to drive in this weather. Residents will be encouraged to remain indoors and school will be canceled.
MOD NOTE: Snow is expected in the area based on actual weather forecasts but the snowfall detailed in this event will override actual Humboldt County Weather forecasts. Snowfall in the Redwood State Park is fairly common, but it's an extremely rare occurrence for snow to fall in the town itself. We will also be offering Random Pairings Sign-Ups for this event.

PI DAY: MARCH 14TH
What better way to acknowledge Pi Day (3.14) than with Pie?! Many businesses here in Mercy Cove are getting into the Spirit with this quirky holiday. Head to Bake My Day for their 2-4-1 Pie deal, or pop over to Speedy's and get a slice of Pie for only a dollar. Or why not support the Mercy Cove High School Math Club by heading to the Farmer's Market and buying a pie to help cover the costs for the team to compete in the Redwood Empire Mathematics Tournament.

ST PATRICK'S DAY
MARCH 17TH
To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, a number of local businesses are getting in the spirit, especially at the bars in and around Mercy Cove. Green Beer is back at the Mercy Cove Brewing Co. and The Stables has a number of fun, festive cocktails to get you in the Irish spirit. Order a 'Pot of Gold', 'Shamrock Shaker' or 'Irish Encounter' today. Patrons who wear green will get a free Guinness and green jell-o shot on entry.
PACK GATHERING
MARCH 19TH
It's a fairly regular occurrence with the Redwood Valley Pack. Pack members, Friends of The Pack, and even those Rogue Wolves who aren't yet sold on the idea of Pack Life are invited to join the Pack for an afternoon of Music, Food, and socialization. Friends of Friends are welcome and while pack members are all required to bring a dish, guests need only bring themselves.

SPRING IS HERE
OSTARA
MARCH 20TH
Ostara, or the Spring Equinox, marks the first official day of spring when night and day are of equal length. The Spring Equinox is a reminder that it’s time to celebrate and plant seeds, both metaphorically and physically, for what we want to bring to bloom in the upcoming season. It’s also a time when we honor all the things we’ve achieved since the Winter Solstice. It’s time to bloom, breathe, create, procreate and reap the sweetness of what we’ve manifested, as we’re brought even closer to the light. Ostara is a holiday that is observed by many Witch all over the world, including right here in Mercy Cove.

FOUNDER'S TRUST CHARITY ART AUCTION
MARCH 26TH
Marking the first charity event of the Calendar year, after the Founders Ball that is, Art 101 will play host to a Charity Art Auction. The who's who of Mercy Cove will of course be in attendance, along with any who can justify the $200 tickets to get them through the front door. Attendees will bid on the art that is on show and 50% of all profits will go to the Founders Trust, where proceeds will be distributed to various causes here in Mercy Cove. Beer, wine (red, white, and sparkling) and hor d'oeuvres will be available and spirits can be purchased at the bar.
MOD NOTE: The Founder's Trust is a well known charity right here in Mercy Cove. It was, as the name suggests, formed by members of the Founding Families and hosts a number of events throughout the year to raise funds for various causes.
BRIDGE CREEK COMMUNITY COOKOUT
MARCH 27TH
Bride Creek is a community where people look out for each other and there's no better way to check in on your neighbors, than by bringing them together for a cookout. These events are fairly regularly in the warmer months and with Spring arriving, the Shifters of Bridge Creek are all coming together for the first Community cookout of the year.

EVENT MOD NOTES
Got an idea for an event? Head on over to the Mod Dropbox and leave your idea there.
SNOWFALL
Please do not assume that snowfall is so heavy that people will get snowed in. It is the dangerous conditions that will keep things inside, not the snow.
COOKOUT & PACK GATHERING
You do not need to be a Shifter or Wolf to attend these events. People invite partners and friends to come along as well. You can (within reason) always handwave that somebody invited your character if you'd like them to be involved.
N.B. Within reason means, ask yourself if a Wolf or Shifter would realistically invite your character.
CHARITY AUCTION
The auction is not just for the rich and powerful of Mercy Cove. Security, waitstaff, valet's and artists would all be present at the event.
OSTARA
While Ostara is one of the Eight Sabbats celebrated by Witches, there is no community-wide event planned this year. Many covens will, however, come together to have their own events. Ostara is often celebrated with egg decorating, planting of flowers, bonfires, and various spring-based rituals and spells.
