Freddy has got pretty used to the sound of Caleb moving around in bed at night, so he doesn't even consider speaking. Sometimes Caleb woke up at night, sometimes he didn't. It wasn't really worth grabbing his attention for something that neither of them could probably really deal with. When the cold was bad enough to actually catch Caleb's attention instead, however, and before he even had to walk past the foot of Freddy's bed...
"I don't think...um..." Freddy's voice was quiet, eyes still locked on the odd, person-shaped spot in the darkness. "I don't think you can get to the door without...walking through it."
Because obviously Caleb's ability to leave is the most important part of this.
