There is a blink in response, the bright and cheerful expression giving way to the faint tilt of confusion for a moment, then the tumblepuppy blows back out again. Freddy laughs in a short, somehow apologetically amused burst and shakes his head. "Oh, I didn't think-- No, I mean-- Aha, sorry." It's a conversation of mild contrition.
Freddy makes a motion like another, small, close-cut wave rather than offering a hand or any such other thing that he feels is more appropriate for greeting one's elders or introducing one's self in a more official capacity than two people out wandering through a thrift store. "I didn't think you worked here. Just, you know, saying hi. I mean, hello, my name is Freddy and I think I saw you at school, maybe, in the dining hall or, you know, something like that? And you, uh, waved when I waved so I thought I'd...say hi." Blink. "Thrrrree times, apparently. Or, well, hi twice and hello once." Amazingly, this is not caffeine. This is normal Freddy plus slightly awkward situation.
