He could skip his morning run and shower after they'd eaten. Erik shuffled through the room to locate his robe and house shoes before slipping quietly from it. Even with the sunrise brining light to the world, the house was still a bit dark and carried with it the stillness of rest and sleep. It was part of the reason Erik enjoyed the mornings so much. They were quiet and worry-free. He did make a point of checking into the nursery to ensure all was well with Anne before finally reaching the kitchen.
Less than an hour later Erik was back in Charles' bedroom, this time with a tray in hand. The scent of food wafted through the room, filling it with the enticing smells of breakfast. It was deposited on the bedside table and Erik sank down onto the bed beside where Charles slept.
"Charles," he murmured, nudging the man's shoulder gently. "Wake up. Breakfast is done."
