* Post with your character, fandom, and any preferences in the subject line
* Others pick or roll 1-10 for the rescue scenario using a random generator like RNG
* Reply, rinse, lather, repeat.
* Start rescuing people!

1. Accident - There's been a car wreck or a house collapsed. You never saw it coming and now you're needing some help in getting out.
2. Captured - Seems a bad guy is holding you hostage for their own purposes. Hopefully some help comes along soon.
3. Stuck - You really thought you could fit into that small space/area/situation but now you're stuck and can't get out. Perhaps a friend can find a way to unstick you?
4. Reverse - You aren't the one needing rescue, it's your friend. Better save them quick!
5. Timed - There's a countdown somewhere, possibly a bomb or something bad you know is going to happen. Hurry up and get rescued!!
6. Double Rescue - Both of you need rescued. Better work together in case nobody comes along.
7. Weather - It snuck up on you, the bad weather you're caught in. Could be a hurricane, snowstorm, flood, etc. Find high ground and hope to be rescued soon.
8. For Your Own Good - You don't want to be rescued but apparently you need to be. Whether it's something you're not aware of or you're a danger to yourself, your friend is going to do the right thing and get you out of it whether you like it or not.
9. Trap - You thought this was a rescue. Dun dun DUN!!! It's really a TRAP! Possibly instigated by your friend. Who can you trust to get you out??
10. Free Choice. Any of the above scenarios or create your own!

Either would work. Though if Cat!Charles is doing the rescue then prob Mouse!Charles, otherwise regular Charles. c: ?

Regular Charles

The raid had been successful. Another mutant installation taken down and the mutants were being rescued right now. Charles was searching the lower levels to make sure they had found everyone. There was someone still down here...

There was indeed another in the bottom levels, someone with a startling familiar face. There was nothing like coming upon someone who looks dangerously like yourself settled in a cage, curled up on a towel and pressing his face to the bars. Of course the minute the door opens, he shies back, ducking his head a bit and waiting for the usual commands. Ears flat against his head and tail curled protectively around his legs.

His lips part in surprise, this definitely wasn't what he expected. Slowly, he crouches down in front of the cage, two fingers moving to his temple to find out who...or what this was...

He can feel the gentle probing, but doesn't know how to stop it-- doesn't have the controlled ability to, whining gently it's easy to pick up on his name. Or rather the fact his name is just Cat and that he was made and kept int he lab, there's memories of things associated with that but little else.

It's ok...I'm not going to hurt you. It may not be in so many words, but Charles sends the impression telepathically.

He works carefully to get the cage open. Hopefully the creature won't be spooked once he opens the door.

He shifts around in a circle and for a long moment he seems to debate on approaching. Inching forward he doesn't try and move out of the cage, the last time he had they had put him through a lot of trouble for it. Instead he just stares up, eyes impossibly wide and his ears pressed down against his hairline. A soft, curious mew passing his lips as he watches the professor.

Charles isn't quite certain what to do in this situation. Playing it by ear, he holds out a hand, palm up. For inspection or possibly an invitation to come out. He was letting the other decide. "Hello there."

It's a gesture the instinctive part of his mind picks up on. Inching forward he nudges his nose gently against the palm, cautiously testing and sniffing before he settles his face against the human's skin. Another, quieter mewl, still wary of speaking or being struck, but trusting enough not to strike out at him.

His heart just about breaks at that response. He doesn't move the hand, his eyes traveling over the ears, the tail...looking for injuries. Charles asks quietly, "Are you ok? Can you speak? I'm not going to hurt you..."

There's a slow nod from the feline, but he doesn't seem inclined to answer-- though it might simply be because his water dish seems far dirtier and empty than one would hope. He just nudges his head quietly against the man's hand again and again, trying to stimulate some feeling of comfort. "Yes...."

He gets the gist of the thoughts of needing water and has an idea to solve that. He pulls a bottle of water from his backpack along with a tupperware container and pours it out for the...cat. It was really all he could call him.

"It's ok, here...you're thirsty, yeah?"

Mouse Charles
[info]ihearyouthink
2012-01-15 07:46 am UTC (link)
He was back in a lab again. This time, one that he couldn't get out of so easily. A scientist had learned he was telepathic and thought him the ticket to getting a Nobel prize. So he had been subjected to quite a few rigorous tests, trying to get him to use his ability. Not excluding the use of shock therapy, which he was currently hooked up to now.

There was a squeak now and again as he was shocked, extremely uncomfortable as he was tied down to a board near the machine, the scientist trying to get him to communicate telepathically by force.

When his little friend had gone missing, Charles had noticed of course, eating crackers wasn't nearly as fun without a little mousey-pal to share them with. It does take him a little bit to figure that no one has seen the familiar little lab-mouse and to go looking for him. He had checked the old lab, and then the next he could find, worry beginning to build in his stomach. What had happened to his friend? Of course-- when he did find him, it wasn't the sight he had wanted to see. Peering in the window, ears flat against his head he could just barely feel the telepathic presence they shared. Gripping the bars he began to hoist himself upward and onto the small balcony in the back of the building. He would get in and save his friend, there was no other option.

Ow!! That hurt!! was what the small mouse was projecting, trying to get the scientist to stop. But he had never really practiced on getting humans to do what he wanted. He squirms against the little straps, trying to get free, but no the scientist is too thrilled with his discovery to stop now. "Say something else," he was saying excitedly, not noticing there was an intruder into his lab.

He waits till the proper moment strikes before the feline strikes, ripping at the papers and growling dangerously at the scientist. Gripping at the ropes and tugging them enough to pluck the little mouse up by the nape of his neck with his teeth. Backing up slowly and hissing time and time again, trying to inch out of the window backward and escape with his little friend. ]

The scientist is so surprised, he falls right over backwards when the cat-man attacks.

It's you! Mouse Charles exclaims happily as he's pulled from the table. He's still twitchy from the experiments but he holds still as he can for the rescue.

The scientist is getting up off the floor, trying to scramble after his test subject. "Wait, come back with him! I could get a Nobel prize for this!!"

"NO!" HE nearly drops his little mouse friend with the fierce hiss that comes form him. Still backing up he crawls backwards through the window, the mouse back in his mouth and held as gently as he could manage. He turns as soon as he can and began running, feline instincts to flee clicking in as he headed back toward his home.

Mouse Charles really isn't used to being carried around like this and quite frankly, he's a little scared about being dropped. So he covers his eyes with his paws for the whole trip.

Alarms are going off around the laboratory, but the scientists are too slow and clumsy to overtake the fleeing cat man.

He doesn't stop running till they're near the house, panting heavily he collapses onto the grass on his side, hands scooping up the little mouse and cradling the small body against the warmth of his chest. "Mousey--" A sad little 'murr' slips out as he thumbs along the little one's back. "--Mousey are you alright?"

He's shaking like a leaf in cat Charles' hands but otherwise seems ok. His mouse heart slows down a bit at the petting fingers. ...I'm here...that was scary...

"You should not go back to those places," He murmurs soothingly, a little brush of his mouth against the small mouses head. It's obvious he's worried for him, but he doesn't know how to make it better besides holding him close and trying to purr-- though the distress is making that difficult. "You should stay home with us now."

...yeah...cause its safe... Being held helps and slowly his fight or flight response slows down to where he can quit shivering. He rests his head on Charles' palm with a sigh. Why were some humans so mean?
