Arthur smiled, though it was sad, sparing a moment to glance at Charles, then behind them. "I couldn't imagine living in a world like that but I will admit it sounds nice," he said, trying to think of those that he wholeheartedly trusted without a doubt, or who would trust him in that way. It was an exceedingly short list.
"They won't listen. It isn't the logical side of the mind. Fight or flight response, things like that. And not intentionally but they're looking for you," he said, slowing so Charles was further ahead of him. "And they won't stop."
