"Well, it had gotten pretty late. I'm sure that didn't help anything," Ward said, his entire posture and expression relaxing with a laugh as her stomach sounded the protest against having slept through breakfast. As she buried herself against his side, Ward reached down, resting a hand against her back. His stomach seemed quite happy to oblige her in this situation, though, and do whatever it could to lessen her embarrassment since it sounded off not long after hers did, only much louder and with far more urgency.
"I think we're all in agreement here," Ward said, the amusement clear in his voice. "All four of us," Ward allowed the smile to linger before he reluctantly shifted, knowing that if they actually wanted to get food, they were going to have to get up. Even if that meant moving from the position they were in.
On his feet after a moment, Ward reached back to her to help her up, not really paying much mind the the fact that every movement he'd made to get to his feet had jostled the board and left even more of a Scrabble disaster mess to clean up. He'd get to that later. "Now, I do remember something about promising to cook for you properly at one point. What do you say we take advantage of that offer?"
