It never occurred to her to ask just how he was going to get out of the Tower to actually go and retrieve her van, not once did it cross her mind to question him on how he was going to leave when she knew he was restricted in his movements within the Tower. She had just assumed that he'd go with Clint and he'd vouch for him and his actions. Skye really should have known better but she was still in shock that he'd even suggested that he could get her van back for her.
There was a part of her that thought maybe he was just using her again, that all of this was to serve some selfish purpose but when he'd sent her the information she needed to hack into the feed and hijack the surveillance and wipe all mentions of her van from the impound lots records she realized that his offer had indeed been genuine. Just as she'd suspected the work was pretty easy and she wasn't at all surprised to find that it still gave her that thrill it always had, good to know that some things never changed.
Skye really was beginning to wonder if she'd ever understand Grant Ward and his motivations, just when she thought she understood what made him tick he went and did something unexpected. She didn't trust him, not like she once had but she didn't outright hate him like she probably should. No, he was a grey area and one that she found confusing the more time passed. When she'd first seen him at the Tower she'd been upset, more than upset but that had faded with each action that he'd taken that seemed to be aimed at helping her. She was sure the rest of the team would tell her he was just using her, playing on her vulnerability and the chance that she still harbored feelings for him, and maybe that was the case but a part of her wanted to believe that there was some good in him, that she hadn't been wrong when she'd told him he was a good man.
It wasn't hard for her to keep herself busy in the five hours that Ward was silent, she'd sent him a text to tell him the coast was clear and then she'd just had to wait. She had no idea how long it would take him to get in, get her van and get back out again. She also had no idea that Tower security had been kicked into high alert by his disappearance, either no one thought she knew anything about him leaving or they didn't want to upset her with news that he was gone, whatever the reason Skye was oblivious to the fact.
When she received his text she left what she was doing and headed downstairs to the garage level, clearly his mission had been a success or at least she assumed it was because otherwise he'd have said so in the text. On her way down she didn't see anything that indicated anything was wrong, no increased security and no one stopped her to challenge her so when she rounded the corner from the elevator and saw the scene in front of her she couldn't quite believe her eyes. There was Ward stood in front of her van with Stark Industries Security surrounding him all pointing weapons at him. "What the hell is going on?" she asked as she walked forwards, her eyes fixed on Ward waiting for him to explain why he was being held at gunpoint. "Ward, what did you do?"
