RP thread, New Year's Eve
Who: Kurt, Blaine
Where: Columbus, Claire Anderson's off-campus apartment
What: Kurt and Blaine have gotten out of the close-minded confines of Lima for their first New Year's Eve together.
When: December 31, 2011 (New Year's Eve), after dinner
Rating: PG-13, for now
Note: Both of us are currently traveling (and I'm still posting from my phone, I hope the coding works), so this may take a while to finish...

Blaine unlocked the door with the key his sister had given him for the weekend and pushed it open with one hip. Dinner had been a success, for the most part -- aside from some odd looks from the restaurant staff, presumably because he hadn't sounded seventeen on the phone when he'd made the reservations, but their youth hadn't affected their service, and it had been a wonderful dinner. He'd have to thank Claire for helping him afford to take Kurt someplace nice, at least -- his Six Flags money hadn't stretched nearly that far alone, but his sister had taken a shine to Kurt immediately, and insisted on helping when she found out Blaine was struggling with logistics for his New Year's idea.
That was probably why she'd been so quick to volunteer her apartment for them to crash tonight, too. Lord knows Blaine had only been here a handful of times himself, much less stayed overnight, but Kurt was another story entirely. It might almost be irritating if Blaine weren't so relieved to have his sister's support.
Besides, having a chaperone who was legally a responsible adult went a long way to getting Kurt's parents to let them stay out overnight -- plus the fact that they'd end up driving really late at night, if they wanted to catch the fireworks at midnight, and it was probably safer to stay in Columbus overnight and making the drive fresh in the morning.
Blaine tossed the borrowed keys into the bowl on the kitchen counter, and flashed a grin over his shoulder at Kurt. "Claire must still be out," he observed, looking around the silent apartment. "We've got some time before the fireworks start, at least, and she said we should have a pretty good view from her balcony -- so make yourself at home, I suppose," he added with a chuckle.
