The sun peeked between the clouds as he drove which sent shadows and light dancing across the roadways. There weren't many cars around him and maybe it was because it was just before the work day ended for most people. They weren't heading home just yet, so Felix had the drive to himself. No one to glance at curiously, no one to wonder about, no one to keep his mind distracted from thoughts of her.
At the light before her apartments he watched the playful diamonds of light coming through a tree on the corner blink in and out of existence against the asphalt. It reminded him of that night the way the moon light poured in through the slitted blinds and doused her in cool silver that danced in a similar way across her skin. He doesn't hear the honk behind him but he looks up just after the change in lights to see it's green.
"Shit." Felix shifted a gear and sped off, his body leaning heavily over the bars of the bike with the weight of a mirror about the size of his back strapped into a portfolio style bag on his back. He turned into her apartment and felt his heart rising up his throat.

He knocked, leaned the portfolio bag against the wall beside her door and tried desperately to smooth out his hair. It has to be sticking up in all sorts of directions considering how windy it was when he took off the helmet.
